Specialization: Ninjutsu.
Elements: Doton | Fūton | Katon | Jinton
Clan History: As it might be assumed, this is not a clan at all. The skill of Dust Release is not genetic, but is rather a set of knowledge that requires such prowess - and intense training - that the resulting ability is considered to be on par with if not exceeding Kekkei Genkai all on its own. The inventor of Dust Release, and thus its first user, was Ishikawa, the First Tsuchikage. Mū, who later came to be the Second Tsuchikage, was its perfector and most famous practitioner, however. It was said that it was using this Release that the rivalry between himself and the Second Mizukage was settled; his Pillar technique defeated Gengetsu's "Jōki Boy" and Gengetsu himself in one fell swoop. However, Mū's hands were permanently scarred by the steam released in the explosion, and in a later battle he mutually killed Gengetsu, a notably powerful shinobi in his own right. After the first fight, he taught his disciple Ōnoki the ways of his Bloodline Selection. They were used far after his death, up to the time preceding and during the Fourth Shinobi World War. It was said that Ōnoki gained the title of Third Earth Shadow from being the inheritor of Mū's abilities and the First Tsuchikage's teachings.
This clan's existence was only made possible by the Third Tsuchikage's transcription of his and his mentor's legacies. A set of scrolls lay deep in the village archives, and were not paid mind for hundreds of years, save for the routine upkeep of the scrolls' condition. About fifty years from the present date, a man from Iwagakure no Sato, a Chūnin named Haishi (八石, lit. "Eight Stone") stumbled across the collection.
It was with this knowledge that he finally ascended from 'normalcy'. Before this time, Haishi was nothing more than your 'everyday' ninja, as much as that could be said. Little was special about him. That, however, would not be the case after he'd bored into the secrets of the previous Tsuchikage. It wouldn't be easy. Being excellent never was, for people that weren't born geniuses. However, what he didn't know that it took a genius of hard work to learn what he was about to. Haishi's road was long and arduous, and even after being promoted to Tokubetsu Jōnin there were times that he felt that giving up would be better than keeping on with his training. He had already come this far, right? Surely this was good enough?
No. He was aiming for the peak, the Zenith.
It took him three years to perfect his arts. The first in literal centuries. This was what it felt like to be on top. To truly have mastered something. He knew that it had to be easier than this. It wasn't just him, out there, that was no-good at anything. No, it was no one at all. Those who were worth nothing had to simply work a bit harder for what they wanted. And he would create a place where they could.
With the founding of Diamond Heights, Senchō Haishi opened up a small school outside its jurisdiction, not in competition, but complementary to it. He would be the new Mū. Every single person had the potential to be Tsuchikage. It was all about perseverance and study.
The above being the case, only a select few people with the natural talent for this art can learn Dust Release; likewise, it requires discarding anything else as a course of study. For this reason it is not uncommon for a Senchō to actually be from another clan, and simply ignore their original Kekkei Genkai or Hiden for which they had no innate ability or affinity. The clan is, thus, not related by blood, but most often are partners in learning. Likewise, very few actually take the name for those who associate with each other over the ability.

Kekkei Tōta: Advanced Nature: Dust Release (高度性質・塵遁, Kōdo Seishitsu - Jinton)
Kekkei Tōta Description: Those who know the secrets of the Senchō clan are able to utilize Jinton, a Bloodline Selection created through simultaneous use of Doton, Fūton, and Katon. This nature allows a Senchō to break apart, manipulate, and reassemble molecules. This is accomplished by using Wind Release to manipulate atoms' individual movement, Earth Release to create and destroy the physical structure of molecular bonds, and Fire Release to provide the energy needed to fuse and break those bonds.
They start with only two of the needed Earth, Wind, or Fire Releases. At a ninja rank of C, they may learn the third (using the normal training rules for new elements); once they know all 3 of Earth, Wind, and Fire, they may train for an additional 1500 words to learn Dust Release, costing no Ryo. Dust Release is trained as if a Tertiary Element, and both Jinton and the Tertiary Element may be trained to SS-rank with 10,000 words.
Dust Release, being a combination of Wind, Fire, and Earth Releases, is a balanced type of Elemental Nature. Wind's weakness to Fire is controlled and thus negated by this Release's own use of Fire, Fire's weakness to Water is countered by Earth, and Earth's weakness to Lightning is countered by Wind. Thus, Dust Release has no weakness, speaking only of the five base elements.
- Types:
- Offensive:
- A standard offensive technique of this nature initially forms between the user's hands as a small three-dimensional object (e.g. a cube, a cone, etc.) composed of Jinton chakra, heretofore referred to as the barrier. The barrier is typically equally-shaped (a cube or sphere, etc) so that it may distribute the high energy from the core equally, allowing it and the jutsu as a whole to remain stable. The barrier is made of finely and regularly oscillating Wind Release and Earth Release chakra to provide a flexible stability, and coated on the inside with Fire Chakra so as to help it resist energy. However, because of its oscillating nature, the barrier can pass through objects before solidifying, though only up to 1/4 of its maximum dimensions. It can, however, pass completely through people, allowing it to envelop them.
Within the barrier, there is a core of compressed chakra. The core is composed of all three chakra natures, with Fūton both directing and increasing Katon's power while sharpening the countless nanoscopic motes of dust controlled by Doton. The core itself is simply a highly condensed sphere of energy, formed by the rapidly oscillating Wind Release chakra grinding up the relatively more stable Earth Release chakra, with Fire Release chakra adding energy to the process to give a more chaotic, and hence energetic, mix.
The core detonates on the caster's command, or another criterion varying by jutsu; the barrier restricts the blast radius and allows finer control of the atoms encompassed by said energy. Typically, an offense does not do this for precision but for more potency, as an uncontained blast cannot do as much damage.
Once the core detonates and envelops a person, it deconstructs the molecules that make up the body. Due to this, Jinton offensive jutsu literally erase the parts of the body they come into contact with; the Detachment of the Primitive World technique is being famous for completely obliterating the target on the molecular level. However, lower-rank techniques' energy is both weaker and more unstable than this, and often will coalesce so as to deal damage to smaller areas as avulsions and lacerations, often appearing as a sort of chamfer, a curved wound that few blades could achieve.
Offensive Dust Release jutsu can only be B-rank or higher. (This is more OOC, so as not to dilute the entire Nature Transformation with weak attacks.) Likewise, complete disintegration of an entire human body is restricted to S-rank.
Offensive Dust Release acts as 1 rank higher against jutsu that create and/or manipulate matter or physical chakra constructs. It also is treated with the same advantage against items, and jutsu that are channeled through items. An item broken by Dust Release is completely destroyed, and cannot simply be reforged.
- Defensive:
- Dust Release defensive techniques typically rely on the barrier on its own to defend, using the Katon component to resist energy attacks. However, they may also use the Offensive application's method to disintegrate physically-based attacks rather than block them.
Defensive Dust Release can either be strong against physical, matter-based attacks, or against energy and pure chakra-based attacks. Which of the two it acts as 1 rank higher towards must be stated in each individual jutsu. Failing to specify results in the jutsu having no strength.
- Supplementary:
- For the sake of balance, Dust Release cannot create things that another Elemental Release governs, unless they possess that Element. (For example, one could not create durable metal due to the existence of Steel Release, or create plant life due to the existence of Wood Release.) The exception is that one can create these things, but they cannot have the properties of jutsu.
Without the Medical Ninjutsu specialization, Jinton cannot reassemble someone after obliterating them.
Dust Release possesses dominion over techniques that control the weight of targeted objects, such as the Added-Weight and Lightweight Rock Techniques. These techniques do not require the use of Jinton's Fire Release, but instead manipulate the molecular bonds of the affected target, allowing for the adding or reduction of weight, hence their being referred to as Earth Release at times.
Those training under the Senchō learn chakra control even before they start their studies in Dust Release. They can use one-handed seals to perform jutsu.
Drawbacks:
- Dust Release is weak to advanced forms of energy that do not specifically rely on matter, such as Scorch Release, Storm Release, and Explosion Release. If channeled using Bukijutsu through an object, Jinton can also become weak to Magnet Release.
- Jinton techniques require Ninjutsu as one of the specializations used to create them. No other specialization possesses the combination of nature transformation and shape manipulation that is necessary for its execution. Due to its very nature, it is inherently unsafe for one to channel Dust Release through one's body in its rawest form; the Bloodline Selection, as such, cannot be used with Taijutsu.
- Unlike many Ninjutsu, where the user's chakra control can largely prevent them or an ally from being harmed by their own technique, Jinton's offensive applications are indiscriminate and will harm anyone inside its boundary or other range when it activates.
- There is a reason some people commit to hard work; more often than not, it has to do with discarding everything else, since they couldn't "excel". For a Senchō, both elements start at D-rank, and the Primary Specialization starts at C-rank.
- Dust Release is learned and honed; it is not in a person's genetics. Unlike other Advanced Natures, Jinton does not rank up automatically. Instead, it must be trained separately; the rank to which it may be trained, rather, is limited by that of the lowest constituent element(s). So, if your Wind Release is S-rank, your Fire Release is B-rank, and your Earth Release is D-rank, your Dust Release is also at D-rank. Once you rank up your Earth element to C-rank, you can then also train Dust Release to C-rank.
- It is fairly unrealistic to say that one could completely master three elements in addition to something as potent and complex as a Bloodline Selection. Indeed, while one can possess a chakra nature contributing to the power of Dust Release, one cannot split the time needed to learn and keep sharp the control necessary for Jinton with learning techniques for an entirely different element.
One of a Senchō's Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary nature cannot be used to make techniques above C-rank. (This need not be stated anywhere; if a B-rank/higher technique for a third base element exists in your Jutsu List, you've already broken this rule.) This also inhibits the use of active chakra abilities of items utilizing that element.
In this way, all further ranks of the restricted element become, essentially, extra training for Dust Release itself. - Because of the effort they have to put into their craft, unlike the natural aptitude that other Advanced Element users have, a Senchō can learn a quaternary specialization. However, like the difficulty they experienced starting out, expanding their horizons is equally taxing. All of the wordcounts required to learn and train a Quaternary Specialization are increased by 50%.
