Clan History: The clan's ultimate lineage actually comes from the Wind Daimyo's bloodline. While being a branch from this royal line, the clan often considered itself of higher caliber than other families. This initial arrogance caused the clan to be heavily isolated from other families whenever they found themselves in desperate situations against many enemies to the clan due to their haughtiness.

After several generations of being beaten down by clans previously considered beneath the Hosokawa, the clan found itself idling in anonymity for a while. Having to cope with the clan's weakness and failed status, they began to push for success on their own, as other clans still held grudges against the Hosokawa's pretentious attitude. Out of their trials and errors, the clan developed a regimen to allow themselves to be well versed in the shinobi arts. Such practice helped the clan become self-sufficient for future conflicts, compensating for the lack of other clan allies to help them.

Upon the time when shinobi villages became constructed, the Hosokawa were reluctant to join. Instead they stayed within close proximity to the Wind Daimyo's palace as if trying to keep up the appearance that they were still strongly related even though they were in fact, very much dilluded away from the current Daimyo line of succession.  It wasn't until much later on, during the Second Shinobi World War that the Hosokawa decided it was safer to be apart of a village. Still loyal to the Wind Daimyo, the Hosokawa would obviously choose to join the Hidden Sand, whom were glad to receive more able-bodied shinobi join their ranks. Quickly, the Hosokawa became accepted and tolerated within the village due to their clan's strengths.

Presently, the clan is of a humble size. They are most commonly seen as Academy teachers, coming from their own clan's impressive training and instruction. The village leaders have often asked for the clan to share it's regimen in hopes that all of its shinobi would be as well-learned as the clan's members. However each time the clan declines to keep it within the clan and make sure to guard the regimen from any outsiders. Now that they have a proper position, even if it really isn't very prestigious being known as good instructors, the clan still carries a bit of its age-old arrogance to the point that there is the sentiment that a clan member doesn't ever fight for themselves, but for the Clan. Similarly, any insult upon a member is an insult to the whole clan. The word 'Family' and 'Clan' never meant so strong as it does to the Hosokawa. To this day, somewhere within the clan's residence is kept the ancient family tree from when the clan was a direct descendant of the Wind Daimyo from generations past.

Kekkei Genkai Description: The Hosokawa are talented individuals due to their extensive training regimen. They are able to be equally proficient to exceptional levels in as many as four specializations, making them the most versatile shinobi. Hosokawa can train all four of their specializations to SS rank. Trainings for the Tertiary and Quaternary Specializations follow the same guidelines as the Secondary Specialization training. All four Specializations must be chosen at the start, and all will begin at D Rank. If the clan member happens to unlearn a specialization/element, it will follow the same learning requirements as dictated by the clan.

Because of their natural talent for learning, the clan is afforded a 20% wordcount reduction to learning techniques.

Drawbacks:

• Only able to use up to the lowest specialization rank. (E.g. Taijutsu at S, Ninjutsu at S, and Buki at D; can only use Taijutsu and Ninjutsu up to D rank)
  
• Having focused so hard on Specializations, the Hosokawa aren't as proficient with the elements and cannot learn a Third or Fourth Element. Cannot take Hesitant (Element) because of this.
  
• Clan members are not allowed to take Trained or Elementalist as special characteristics.

Description: Being of the great and mighty Hosokawa Clan, this user is incredibly overconfident in the overall clan's abilities being better than others that he/she will needlessly start, or jump into, a fight over even the smallest of insults to the Clan. If the user sees a fellow clansmen is fighting in honor of the Clan, he/she responds immediately in jumping into the fray.
