Welcome to the Kirigakure Weapons Catalogue,

Below are an assortment of weapons, Armour and Items which are commonly found on the persons of ninja within the village hidden in the mist. After over a decade of prosperity as well as war, Kirigakure as a nation has thrived in its weapons trade and superior military training, thus, its goods reflect that bloodied history. The skilled ninja of the country are found wielding all forms of weapons from this list while lower ranked goods found within the country are often foreign imports or little more than training weapons used by Genin.

In Kiri, blacksmiths from all over are tutored with superior tempering skills and methods to get their fires hotter and in order to get better steel from their smelts for their weapons. This coalition of blacksmiths, often called the "Iron Banner Smiths," led by a community of master blacksmiths including Ayakashi's mother; Hikari. Together the Iron Banner Smiths reforged the nation and what it means to be a ninja of Kirigakure no Sato. Accomplished through the trading of family secrets and techniques that had been long held within their families for generations, finally bound together for the deep rooted urge to make their country a better, stronger nation that would never again be broken by those who dared to oppose it. This coalition leads many kirigakure weapons to be chakra infused, leading to them having basic elemental natures, often to do with the particular smith who forged them.

Weapons from this list can only be purchased by Kirigakure Ninja, or those within the country of Kirigakure at the time of purchase as they are not sold outside of the country.

Ability/ Function: A 1m wide shuriken which has little to no edge to be seen, widely a blunt weapon whose job it is to dent or crack armour and other solid fixtures with its exceedingly dense composition. On impact with an armour or a weapon of equal rank not enhanced by chakra, the Giant shuriken is capable of ruining that item after two hits, destroying it beyond usefulness, while destroying items of one rank lower in a single blow. Likewise on impact with a person, it is capable of breaking bones causing internal concussion and sending the ninja flying up to 5m. However, due to its weight, a ninja requires B-2 Rank strength to use it.

Giant Shuriken, just as often used as a strength training tool as it was a weapon, was implemented within the Kirigakure ANBU as a specialist weapon to bring down heavily armoured opponents and make them more vulnerable to attack.

The blade can be collapsed down to the size of a single one of it's blades or separated into its 4 components, making it easy to transport, and returns to the user should its path not be interrupted in such a way as would halt its progress. (Ie, just cutting through someone allows it to return, but if it is blocked and/or stopped it does not.)
This particular Fuma Shuriken is of general higher quality. It can fracture bone and deliver 2.25" cuts.

History: To the more military sound nature of Kirigakure, the Fuma Shuriken of the ninja world were grossly underwhelming, deciding to take to the weapon’s roots, using documents left behind from the Fuma clan in order to re-invent the weapon many consider synonymous with tactics and cunning, recreating a deadly throwing weapon aligned with the Fuuton element their clan was fabled for as well as bringing the blades to a singing sharpness.

History: These high grade Senbon used by the village hidden in the mist are a godsend compared to the dull tipped senbon commonly used by the ninja world, sharp enough to be used as medical or acupuncture instruments as well as lethal weapons.

The Senbon are capable of penetrating 2” deep into an opponent.
Appearance: A 20cm, mat-black needle with three rows of serrated barbs at the top three inches of the needle leaving a seven inch grip which comes to an eye at the back of the needle to tie wire or thread for sutures or combat. The High Carbon arrows made in kiri use a light strong carbon with a sleek specialized head building the arrow for speed and penetration, able to dig itself 2” deep into an opponent.
Appearance: 60cm long mat-black arrows which come to a slender 3cm long, two sided head, long grooves digging through each side of the arrow provide channels for air giving the arrow less traction and help guide the arrow to better meet its mark. Through its improvements, the arrows still use the classic, 7cm, wax feathered fletchings of their forefathers.
History: Kiri after training it's archers, built better arrows which could deal more damage due to the higher velocity they were able to maintain after being let fly. This allowed Kirigakure archers to better live up to their potential as marksmen.

Appearance: A mat-black with night blue silk and chainmail underlay steel mask / helmet, much like a Sallet, which protects the ninja from harm and obscuring the face, the armour has splint-mail falling off the back of the helmet protecting the back of the neck.
