he mission dossiers he had been pulling from the mission center had been getting better in terms of their progression in relevance and intrigue. Albeit still junior ninja level tasks, they seemed to be growing in the realm of action and responsibility. His last mission was actually a battle, well, a spar, that was highly climactic against his initially dull expectations. He had to spar some kid named Ratsu who was rather rude but refreshingly formidable. After his stated surrender the sneaky bastard had detonated a smoke bomb point blank in his face in order to escape. Which of course was highly unnecessary seeing as how he was more than free to leave without intervention, perhaps the embarrassment of his loss was not something he wanted to relish as he would have otherwise turned and proceeded with a walk of shame. It really wasn't all that serious,as losing wasn't the end of the world, but still to this day the young Sōseiji would swear he could still feel the residue of that smoke bomb tucked deep inside the back of his eyelids.

However, no matter how relevant the matter in the young genin's mind, today was a new day and moreover a new chance at a mission. With his last endeavor being as action packed as it was, the possibilities that lied in the print of this green and red trimmed dossier were much more keen to his imagination. Maybe this time he would be tracking down a horde of bandits who have stolen a secret jutsu. Or perhaps this time it is more so on the side of espionage, you know recon, observe and report only.

“The cat's out of the box...”

He uttered beneath the audible decibels of his own breath, crashing down in emotion from unbridled excitement to a demure scowl of disbelief. The parchment harshly nestled and folded in on itself as he gripped the dossier with irritation. Perhaps there was really no science behind mission assignage, at least at the D-rank level, and he had just proven to be a bit lucky with his previous mission experience.

“The cat's out of the box alright!”

He exclaimed as the various workers within the Kazekage Tower paused to take in the abrupt distraction before resuming about their business once the dark haired genin grudgingly stormed off and out of the missions office.

After barging out of the doors of the Kazekage Tower he found himself rather exhausted, mainly because of his boiling irritation at another menial non-cumulative task, but also from all of those winding steps he had charged down to get back to the ground level. Clasping both his knees with the palms of his hands a bead of sweat rolled down the bridge of his nose as if it were a vertical ramp before falling from the tip of his nostril and speeding towards its death. After minutes of panting like a cooling dog he began to notice a girl probably no older than himself biting her lip in a nervous fashion as she had her chin to the sky with an antsy gaze towards the top of the tower.

“Oh please don't die Mr. Chipsworth! Hang on, a ninja is coming to save you!”

She squealed in her irritatingly high pitched tone of voice as her pink shoulder length hair swayed back and forth in the light breeze as if it too were pacing with anxiousness. Rising back upright the adolescent genin made his way over to figure out who this “Mr. Chipsworth” was and why the hell he was on top of the Kazekage Tower. After taking a few steps from beneath the various architectural reliefs of the large building he made it to an appropriate vantage point that would offer up more information on the situation at hand.

“He's...., a cat?”

He mumbled rather audibly as it caught the adjacent pink haired girls attention.

“Yes, of course Mr. Chipsworth is a cat. What other type of creature would have such an adorable name? Matter of fact your a ninja, aren't you? Get up there and save him before he falls!”

She screamed emotionally as her pearly green eyes began to bubble and glisten with ducts filling up with what would be a downpour of imminent tears. Though all the while the Soseji had tuned her out and was reading back through his mission dossier, what were the odds that his very mission was at the same location as its pick-up point. It was a rare convenience, but nothing in life was ever that good to be true. As he drew his eyes back up from the dossier and to his target objective, he quickly realized he would have to scale the tower he had just finished conquering yet again, but this time from the outside. With a minor shake of his head he could only smile to himself with regards to the harsh irony.

“With a name like that we might be lucky if he doesn't jump.”

He replied starkly as he lead off with a brisk leap, all the while the girl was left with her mouth hanging to the ground in disbelief at the remark.

“YOU HAD BETTER SAVE HIM!”

Was all he heard as he ascended with great speed, keeping his blue irises locked on the quadrupedal silhouette above him as it consistently grew larger and larger with each progressive upward leap. In moments he found himself able to make out the features of the famous Mr. Chipsworth. He was a grey kitten with bulbous brown eyes replete with black tiger like stripes across his back and a large gaudy red bow tie affixed to his neck.

“Ah damn, you poor thing, you look hideous.”

He said as he keenly took notice of his polished claw nails and slicked back cowlick. Mr. Chipsworth glared back at him with irritating agreement, looking less than eager to be reunited with his overbearing owner.

“Hate to be the bad guy Mr. Chipsworth, but duty calls!”

He added as he whisked the kitten in his arms and took to his lofty descent that included larger leaps downward than he had taken on the way up, the likes of which causing Mr. Chipsworth to meow frantically in fear each time. Before too long he had made it back down to the ground and no sooner did his black padded sandals touch down did the girl appear before him and whisk the horribly decorated cat from his arms.

“MR. CHIPSWORTH MY BABY COME HERE SNOOKEMS!”

She shouted in glee as Mr. Chipsworth reached back desperately for the young Soseji but to no avail. The grey kittens face overwhelmed with depression as his furry little body was spun and snuggled to the thousandth degree.

“Uh, I don't think he likes tha-...”

”-No one asked you!”

She exclaimed, abruptly cutting off the young genin as her joyous demeanor quickly shifted to the dubious hateful eyes of a monster. Throwing his hands up in surrender, the Soseji backed away slowly, mouthing the words “I'm sorry” to Mr. Chipsworth as the kitten began to cry before the pink haired girl slowly eased back into her joyous reunion and the young genin faded off into the background.
