Wow, his time in Iwa was probably the most jam-packed that he'd ever had in his life. For starters, he traveled through the Land of Earth and to Iwa's Administration Building to deliver a letter to the new Tsuchikage, who he ended up discussing the Kiri-Kumo war with in depth. As soon as he was clear to leave, he ended up dashing out to go on some of the most ridiculous adventures all around the land, fighting the craziest things in his path: from annoying girls to minor bandits to animals to giant mutants to even geographic structures, meeting so many interesting people along the way from a bear man to a scarf wielding jonin to even a fellow Konoha shinobi. As a result, he irresponsibly missed hours and hours on end of sleep. Compounding to his insomnia was the fact that he took six frickin' missions, the most dangerous ones that he'd ever done in his whole life, in fact. He literally was sleepwalking through the last two of them like a zombie; he looked almost like a drug addict, but he completed those missions successfully regardless, although barely (he got really lucky, that was for sure). When he was finally slugging his way over to the room, in Iwa's living quarters, that he was staying in during the Hokage's visit to Iwagakure, he heard news that the Hokage was set to arrive in about half a day and, equally as important, of his promotion to Tokujo by Konoha's promotion council as a result of all of his work in Iwagakure. He ended up encountering two genin, one of which he'd already met when he got lost in the tunnels (long story), who helped him with a... creative, and frankly unhealthy, "power nap" technique that at least temporarily restored his body to working condition so that he'd be able to meet the Hokage without yawning seventy times. As a reward, he took the two genin on an extremely high profile mission to kill one of the biggest leaders of Iwa's gangs, probably the hardest task that he himself had ever gone on even with the aid of the two genin.
He was just about to go and register with the administration so that he could depart the village, in fact; however, they immediately requested that he do yet another time sensitive mission for them. He didn't take too much issue with that; after all, if it was something so urgent that they didn't have the time to put it in the public dossier and wait, it must've been important. Indeed it was. Apparently a group of coyotes were lurking around the entrance to the village and were harassing residents; they just received reports that a kid was being mauled by them. He took off immediately, in hopes that he could save the kid and capture the animals so that they'd inflict no more harm.
