Ashi had been more prepared to take on another mission, even after the grueling last one of moving all those heavy crates around. She'd enjoyed it nonetheless, though, good exercise was good exercise, and that had been quite a work out. This task wasn't going to be so physically demanding, but it was going to be grueling, she was sure. Cleaning up the park? Making repairs? It definitely needed to be done, so she'd do it without complain. Money was money, and the more missions the more likely she was to reach her current goal. Motivation was a mother fucker when it came to trying to get things done.
She'd set off rather early in the morning, giving herself the full day to get the work done. She had even gone so far as to drag Akai along with her, she was sure Akai could help in one way or another. "Alright, Akai. We have to clean this place up, fix up some stuff... make it nice.", she spoke to her ninken as they arrived at the park gates. "Think we can do it?"
Akai barked happily, jumping up before charging right into the park.
Ashi chuckled, shaking her head a bit. "Definitely going to have to make sure we find you something to do... Awfully hyper today."
Ashi looked down at the list in her hand of tasks that needed to be completed. Some seeds for flowers needed planted, trash needed picked up, the streams and rivers running through the parks needed cleaned out of debris and litter. Easy enough.
"Alright, Akai. Lets break this down so we can save time. Why don't you get to digging over there so we can plant some seeds later on and I'll get to picking up the litter around here until you're finished."
Akai took off to the location Ashi had pointed towards, ready to begin digging. She started from one end and slowly dug her way lightly down the line, pausing every now and then to look over at Ashi.
Ashi meanwhile had walked off whistling to the pile of supplies that were nearby, grabbing up a sharpened tipped stick and a garbage bag. She shook the bag opened and placed it in her left hand, while she picked up the stick in the right. She took her way slowly across the ways, stabbing litter here and there and depositing it into the garbage bag. It didn't take long until it was full and she had to return for another. A quick knot tie and another shake to open the new bag and she was on her way again.
Akai finished with her digging and half ran half walked her way over to Ashi, covered entirely in dirt.
Ashi glanced in Akai's direction and shook her head, chuckling. "Looks like I have another mission when we're done here... give you a bath, eh?"
Akai growled playfully, jumping her overly large form around playfully.
"Later Akai, lets finish this up, alright?" More litter was stabbed and deposited in the bag, Akai following behind her, sniffing around to locate other locations that were overly populated by garbage.
A few hours of this and it was time to move on to cleaning out the river. Back to the supply pile they went. Ashi dug around for a moment, trying to find something to make this easier. A small net like object would do the trick and that's exactly what she found. Once at the river Akai took a part of the net in her mouth and Ashi held the other in her hand, between the two they dragged the net, swerving and swiveling it to avoid as many fish as possible as they collected the floating garbage. This took another few hours, and both were rather exhausted when finished.
Now that this was finished it was just time to deposit the trash and turn the mission in. Akai dragged a bag while Akai carried the other four they'd filled. After she was satisfied with the bags being in a nearby dumpster she returned only long enough to deposit seeds, which she'd momentarily forgotten, into the ground, covering them with the lose earth.
"Alright, Akai.. lets go turn in and get cleaned up, I'll race you!" With that Ashi took off, Akai running behind her and easily catching up. The two ran the entire way to the doors to the office, stopping only long enough to open the doors being stepping in. Both were covered in dirt and looked worse for wear, but both were sporting grins. "Finished!"
