Mission description: As a desert state, we've always been reliant on other countries to export goods, that we might simply survive. This marks the beginning of our endeavors to become self-sufficient, and embrace our culture.
Mission details: Quite simply, this mission entails going out and finding plants, hunting animals, and collecting resources that are useful in keeping the citizens of the Hidden Sand well-fed. Finding specific items of interest that the infirmary can use will net you a small bonus. You're unlikely to find any major threats while you're in the designated areas.
The moment that Zu had been waiting for had arrived as a messenger came to him while he was enjoying food. Zu had helped an elderly man earlier with small tasks. While it was not Zu's intentions to be rewarded, it was much appreciated that the man offered Zu a home cooked meal. He just saw someone struggling and decided to help. Now he was eating and laughing at jokes at his restaurant when news of a mission came to him. When Zu became registered he knew he had to pay back his debt, in any way possible. It seemed that Zu just had to go out and gather food. A simple enough task but very important in these parts. He was sure it was just a common mission they gave out to many people as the food demand would be high due to the travels. After waiving the old man by, he set off from the shop. It was not long till he was a true the gate showing proof of leave before heading out from the village. A small burden felt lifted from him as he walked out the doors. Debt was not something he enjoyed, and he would have to pay his back many times fold before he could be appeased. The sun was mid day, shining and ever so brilliantly hot son as it scorched the lands. Not a cloud in sight to give any brief moment of shade. Unlike his last time in these sands, he was well fed. Many days traveled happened before his arrival here, his body was in a much better shape. Then again perhaps it was his mentality that felt better for doing good in the world. Either way, he would not fall victim to these unforgiving lands and he will come back with food for many to eat. It was his moment to help make amends, to aid others and he would be damned should he let them down.
Alas, the sands were vast...
After many leagues of travel and countless thoughts of going back, Zu had arrived at a promising spot. A small watering hole, with many deer chewing on the small amount of vegetation that grew there. If he could get two of them surely he could carry them back. From this distance and speed, he would be lucky to get two. Lowering his stance, he inched forward ever so slowly. Inches seemed like miles as he pressed forward, keeping his body low and movement at minimal. Instinct seemed to kick in, his body was almost as if moving on it's own. Once Zu was at a decent distance, he made a mad dash at two nearby dear with both his arms modified to be blades and slit their throats. All the others instantly fled in terror as Zu had to calm his body to revert it... back to something normal feeling. Even after his hands transformed to normal, he could not but help but to still feel a small part of madness seeping into him. With a slight brush off, he drank too in the water. It was good, refreshing and cool due to the depths of it. He paused a moment before taking it all in. Saying a small thank you for the deers sacrfices for his own need. He had to repay his debt, and their lives were the means by which he shall start to do so. Grabbing both heads with one in each hand, he began to drag the carcasses back through the sands. Their weight added to his burden, his body would not faulter, and yet it would. Half way through returning, Zu's body gave out a little and he hit the ground again. Seems he was destined to fall a lot. He knew he could not press on like this, their weight was too much as is. With the friction between their skin and sand, it was a miracle that their bodies were still intact. Zu decided after laying there for minutes that he would have to carry them another way. A much lighter way. Zu began to break the legs off throwing them to the side, before turning his arm into a blade cutting the heads of the deer mostly off. A lot of the neck was still intact. Zu made sure to make slits in the body to drain more blood and for a place for his hands to grab. Like that he felt envigorated to complete his task, grabbing the bodies he made his way back in a rather alarming rate.
Upon making it back, two men were there to aid him in carrying. With deep breaths Zu would have to go request his Ryo payment for completing at the same very shop that he ate earlier. They had specifically asked the officials to send someone out to collect meat. Zu could not but to laugh at how fate is twisted.
