Rinkei

Rinkei

D-rank
Once Rinkei arrived in Kirigakure, she found herself wandering aimlessly around the village, completely lost in its stunning architecture and glory. She had never seen a place as beautiful as Kriri, not even in any of the paintings she had done in the past. The vast amount of people that were around was also stunning to Rinkei, even though she didn't particularly like being around people, this made her feel differently for some reason. She just continued to walk down the many streets, staring up at towering buildings and structures. Rinkei was glad for the change in scenery, seeing how she had been in Konoha her whole life without any kind of traveling except right outside the village walls. It was an intense experience that she would remember forever.

The one thing she noticed about the people in the village was the amount of looks the girl had gotten whilst walking the streets of Kiri. She at first thought that it was merely because of her white hair, which wasn't seen much in Konoha, but then she noticed that there were plenty of people in Kiri that had white hair. Then she realized that her eyes were probably the answer to this internal question of what they were looking at. Hyuuga's were native to Konoha, and usually stayed there for the duration of their lives. So it was probably a little unnatural to see someone from the Hyuuga clan within the perimeter of Kiri. This almost made her feel isolated in a way, though she could have said the same thing had she not been from Konoha, purely for the fact that she wasn't from this village at all. She had not lineage here, or any friends, so it was utterly odd that she was there in the first place. The thought of her leaving her 'family' was somewhat saddening, knowing that she didn't know anyone here, and how awkward it would be for her to meet anyone considering the fact that she was antisocial. Rinkei also thought about the overbearing thought that she didn't have a place to stay, and probably wouldn't for a while if she didn't buckle down and figure out living arrangements. She wasn't exactly rolling in money at the moment, but she might have had enough to find a place for cheap that she could stay in temporarily. Rinkei shook her head as she realized she didn't exactly think this completely through when she left her home village.

Step by step she continued to get deeper into her thoughts and feelings, until the sights of the village no longer appealed to her. She was thinking about past events and memories that she had left behind, knowing full well that she wouldn't be able to return to Konoha normally, especially under the circumstances of her departure. It wasn't a totally negative thing that she was here, but it definitely made things difficult for her if anything. Hopefully she could find someone that would be able to guide her around the village and keep her company before she completely lost herself again.

This wasn’t exactly unknown terrain for Rei anymore. He has been in the city before. Everything, to him, looked the same as always. The streets were busy with adults and children, each doing their own thing and enjoying their own limited freedom. Unlike Rei, who was drowning in his boredom. The past he has was left behind him as he held his head up high, not giving a care in the world nor caring about what the people around him think. His stomach has been filled and no clothes had to be bought, so the only thing that he could think of to do was attempt and meet new individuals. It would help him grow, not only as a member of this village but as a unique person, as well. His white hair, reaching up to half of his neck, swayed from left to right with every step that he took. Both of his hands were shoved into the pockets of his grey pants and his ‘boots’ left footprints in the dirt of the ground, it being easy to follow his trail should he be targeted. This wasn’t on Rei’s mind, however. He had no enemies, other than those from his background, but as far as he’s concerned, they’re all taken care of. There were many other places he still had to visit in this village, but not really knowing where to start, he ended up in town yet again. What was his purpose for being here. He had no hunger, no clothes necessary and not even in the mood to buy himself some weapons while he’s here anyway.

His eyes shifted from left to right, eying almost every person that he came across until he looked ahead into the distance. There was a certain individual that stood out a little bit more from the rest. Although the white hair perfectly fit within the people living in the village, the eyes seemed a little bit different from the rest. That was the first thing that Rei noticed, even from such a distance. Moving himself through the crowds, with every step that he took he moved closer and closer towards the girl. This made it all the more apparent that the girl wasn’t really focused on reality at the moment, but the opposite. She seemed like she was sinking away in her thoughts without paying attention to the outside world. Whether it was someone with a tough past or someone that just had social problems didn’t matter to Rei. He just needed to catch her attention somehow and drag her back into the living realm. Noticing a small rock just ahead of him, he figured to just use it to his advantage. Now only a short distance removed from the female’s location, his boot kicked the small rock in front of him, causing it to just hit the front of her footwear, at least trying to catch her attention by letting her feel something on her body. Whether this was successful or not, he stopped in his tracks, put a smile on his lips and looked at her with rather questioning eyes. He didn’t speak, but as the eyes are the windows to the soul, she must’ve known, should she look at him, what his question would be. Words don’t need to be spoken if you can resonate your questions from the soul.

Rinkei wasn't completely lost within her world. Technically she was still paying attention to to her surroundings, though not too much. The walk had left her in a trance-like state due to not being bothered by anyone that was around her. She didn't think that leaving Konoha would have that much of an effect on her. Rinkei honestly believed that she was done with the village she had abandoned. Though, obviously it wasn't so. Something about leaving the place she once loved had torn her to pieces. However, she couldn't dwell on it much longer, she had already left, and she couldn't go back, not after defecting like that. She could be killed, or possibly captured and thrown into jail. Unfortunately, going back would never be an option. Rinkei continued to walk down a random street within Kirigakure as she was lost in her own mind. Soon, her mind wandered to other things that she had thought about previously, she didn't want to find herself getting depressed at all. She began thinking about finding a companion of some sort, she wasn't going to get anywhere without any contacts to help her out. Plus, despite her normally wanting to be alone, she thought that getting lonely within a new place would be easily done. Rinkei hoped she would find someone personable enough to satisfy her thirst for companionship.

Not soon after, she was knocked out of her reverie as her foot ran into a rock that had been kicked or something since it seemed to have been rolling towards her when she noticed it. Rinkei glanced up and looked around, to her surprise, there was another boy standing not to far from her. He was holding a very friendly smile on his face, accompanied by - but not complimenting - questionable look in his eyes. Rinkei was still somewhere else in her own mind, and wasn't quite sure on the boys intentions, but she didn't feel like they were very hostile at all really. At first Rinkei noticed his snow white hair, which only proved her point more that white hair in Kiri was not uncommon at all. She noticed that the boy was rather attractive, which was an odd thought, coming from her, since she was never really interested in those kinds of things, but the thought continued to linger in her mind. He had bright blue eyes, which were pretty to Rinkei. The boys clothing style was pretty decent, at least Rinkei thought so. He also had a pretty good muscular build going for him, which wasn't a bad thing whatsoever. Rinkei thought she might like the boy, but she didn't know him, and was waiting to see what first impression he would give off towards her. Rinkei gave a sheepish smirk back at him, slightly raising her hand by her side and waving slowly. She wasn't very good with social interaction, and only a few people had managed to make her open up at all. Rinkei let out a small sound that might have sounded like a "Hi" to anyone really paying attention, but with all the traffic going around in the street she figured it would come out as inaudible to the boy, even if they weren't very far from each other. It must have looked like that she attempted to speak, and then decided not to, which could have made her seem a little more shy than she actual was. Rinkei just really hoped that the boy wasn't planning on anything malicious because she really wanted to make a new friend, or even an acquaintance today, someone she could communicate with for once instead of being lonely here in Kiri.

He did catch the girl’s attention. As soon as the pebble hit her footwear, she snapped out of her thoughts. At least, that’s what it looked like from Rei’s perspective. He wasn’t sure what he could expect out of a reaction from the girl. She didn’t seem like she was around here; so she could turn either a very hostile person or someone that’s very kind. You never know, however, without interacting with one another. Rei wasn’t very distant to people, in fact, he enjoyed meeting new individuals and hanging around with them. Each of them have unique stories to share and with each of them you can share new experience that you gain together. He noticed the smirk forming on the girl’s lips, although sheepish, followed by a wave. Rei didn’t know what to think of that reaction, really. Wasn’t she confused in the least? The girl’s lips moved, however, no sound came from it. It was negated by the multiple people talking around them. With each of it coming from every direction, it’s difficult to tell what she just said, unless you could read lips. All he could tell was that it wasn’t more words than one, so perhaps just a greeting? As a response to the wave, he just waved back nonchalantly with his other hand shoved down his pocket. The smile never left his lips. He didn’t want to give off a closed vibe, but rather an open one to invite more and more people to make part of his life. Friends or enemies, doesn’t matter. Both of those help a person grow to strive for something greater.

He moved a little bit closer to the girl, so that they’d at least be able to hear each other and not be disturbed by the crowd around them. His blue eyes fixated on the girl’s. Having red as a natural eye color seems like a unique trait. Personally, he had never seen something like it before, which might prove that she’s not around these parts, at all. The white hair was the same as his own, which threw him off again on whether or not she’s from here. There was no better way than to ask her directly, but of course, not without a greeting and a proper introduction, first. He owes her at least that much for disturbing her, supposedly? Rei wasn’t the one to be the shy type, in fact, rather straight forward. Him catching her attention was the sign of the start of a conversation, so he’ll act accordingly right away. The hand that he previously used to wave was held out in front of him, towards the girl. “Yo there.” The tone in his voice was friendly, yet very calm. The girl probably didn’t expect this either, to start a random conversation in the middle of the street, but sometimes life just has a way of connecting things together. This is how new bonds are forged and new allies and enemies gained. You just need to show a little bit of initiative to make it happen and make your dreams a reality before your body wears out and withers away. It won’t last forever. However through people, you’ll be remembered. While still holding his hand out in front of the girl, he almost immediately introduced himself with his full name, as well as his home village. By doing this, he had figured that the female would also introduce her by giving her home town as well. This would confirm whether or not she’s an outsider. “Yuki, Rei. Kirigakure Shinobi. Nice to meet you.” Blinking once and looking closer for a moment, he noticed a faint scar across the left cheek. His mind wandered for a moment to what the cause of that scar could’ve been. She seemed rather young, so what could’ve happened to a girl like this? Has she been a Shinobi for a long time? Questions popped up in his mind, as it always does with every new person that he meets. This is what he finds interesting. Every person has had their share of experiences and can only pass their knowledge onto others. Helping each other grow is the path to evolution. She seemed like a nice person; someone that Rei would gladly like to know.

When the boy approached her, Rinkei tensed up a little bit. Even though she didn't sense any negative energy coming from him, she still wasn't used to much social interaction at all. Rinkei noticed the smile on his face had never wavered and continued to stay consistent. This calmed her a small amount, but not enough to completely settle her nerves. Rinkei really hoped that she could get over her social anxiety, especially since she was in a new place and bound to meet new people almost all the time. She needed to open up a little more so that people didn't think that she was some sort of nut job. It wouldn't be very helpful to her if people were just constantly trying to avoid her all the time.

The boy introduced himself to Rinkei. Yuki, Rei. A pleasant enough sounding name. It didn't surprise her either that he was a Kirigakure shinobi, it would have been odd had she found another person who was traveling to the village before she found someone native. Trying to find the words to say, Rinkei glanced at the ground momentarily, gathering her jumbled thoughts. She looked back up at Rei and widened her smirk in somewhat of a smile. "Hyuuga, Rinkei, Konohagakure Shinobi..." She paused, looking around at all of the pedestrians of the village traversing the road. "...Formerly." She finished, gulping a little. Hoping that Rei wouldn't put two and two together, ultimately making him shy away from her. The last thing she needed was for someone to know she had defected from another village and rat her out to the authorities. She hadn't been too sure on laws of the land concerning defection, but she was sure that the consequences were most likely bad. "Nice to meet you too." She added quickly, slightly fumbling over her words as she forgot to input that little sentence. Rinkei felt as if she was making a fool of herself, and she didn't quite like that feeling whatsoever. So she sighed heavily to attempt to calm her nerves and looked back at Rei with confidence. She noticed that the boy was watching her rather intently. Whether it was to scope her out to see if she was an enemy, or merely just checking her out, it was blatantly obvious that he was watching her every move. Rinkei decided to throw those thoughts away however, because she really wanted to focus on making a new friend today, didn't matter who it was, as long as the didn't try and kill her, that is.

It became very clear, from the beginning even, that this girl he just confronted wasn’t the best at social interactions. She seemed to stumble on her words a little, even though she didn’t make it very apparent. Perhaps this was because the girl was actually shy by nature, or that she hadn’t engaged in casual conversations before. Even so, Rei didn’t plan to end the meeting here; if anything he was planning to push the girl over her shyness and be more comfortable within her surroundings. She introduced herself as Hyuuga, Rinkei. Not to mention that she was actually a Shinobi formerly bound to Konohagakure. This meant that she deserted it, but for what purpose? Was it because she wanted to remain a wanderer, not committed to any village, or because she actually wanted to live somewhere else? It pretty much peaked Rei’s interest, but she wasn’t planning to overwhelm her with questions right off the bat, especially since she’s not really at ease talking to an unknown individual, it seems. Even though he just spoke his own name to make sure they aren’t complete strangers anymore. She seemed polite enough, returning a ‘nice to meet you’ in response to his.

It was only shortly after that the girl seemed to be trying to pull herself together, giving off a vibe of confidence once her eyes again met with his own. Maybe he was the one that was too fixated on remaining the eye contact and made it uncomfortable in that way, but since the girl had found some confidence, he didn’t think she would mind. The two of them just stood frozen in the middle of the street. Some of the people might’ve took a glance at the two to see what they were up to and even though Rei caught a bit of wind of that, he didn’t show a single care in the world. He removed the surroundings and blocked out the sounds, focusing on nothing but the questions lingering in his mind for the girl named Rinkei, hoping not to intrude on her business. A chuckle slipped through Rei’s lips, actually finding the confident expression kind of amusing. This might’ve seemed a little weird from Rinkei’s perspective, but Rei quickly shrugged it off and asked her a question to lead it away from that moment, in case it might turn awkward. “Formerly, huh?” He began. The tone in his voice showed that he was thinking about that subject. Keeping her in suspense for a little, might’ve been just a little teasing on his part. She needed to open up, maybe this was the way to do so. She previously seemed to hesitate on stating ‘formerly’ once she introduced her, most likely meaning that she wasn’t sure what Rei would think of it. He didn’t think much of it. People have their own ways to follow and if this is hers, no one can deny her that purpose. “Does this mean you’ve made the decision to live your life as a wanderer, or are you actually part of a different village by now?” The answer to it might’ve been a little obvious, should Rei give a little bit of effort into figuring it out. She might as well be a part of Kirigakure, but in order to keep the conversation going and letting the girl’s personality a little loose, she might as well explain it to him herself.

While waiting on a response, he extended his arm and pointed his index finger through the crowds over to a free bench, right outside a store that didn’t seem to be booming with business. It was a quiet spot and although it might not have been that respectful of Rei to sit there even though he wasn’t planning on buying anything, it was an opportunity for them to have a peaceful talk and possibly get to know each other a little better, in the search of a new friendship. Even through all this, the smile remained on his lips and didn’t show any signs of fading any time soon. For Rei, even though his past has been rough and difficult times had arisen, he got through those times on his own strength and couldn’t help back to look towards both his past and future with a smile that indicated nothing would be able to faze him mentally.
