Okita
D-rank
A nice quiet Sunday morning... Or is it?Sent by the elite of the village Okita leaves his house for a quest of glory... The truth is nearly as poetic. Okita's superiors had grown tired of his eternal sleeping during patrol duties and therefore he was sent to hop the typical genin wagon and do the regular library mission. Serves him well.
Sun was only appearing as Okita strolled inside the library. Standing by the entrace door he froze in place. First thing that caught him was the smell. Weird stench of thick air filled with dust. Yet, it somehow didn't seem repulsive. Quite opposite. It called forth the feeling of nostalgia, echoes of the past, knowledge of the world. Okita almost wanted to just take a book and empower his mind with some knowledge... Luckily enough the sick urge left quickly. Okita shook his head and made his way forth towards the counter. Located on the counter was stack of different colored thick books, a lamp and a journal filled with lines of unfamiliar letter. No doubt written in some alien language Okita decided as he picked it up to inspect it closer. As he lifted the journal he noticed this old time bell which triggers ringing sound when being pressed. Okita raised his fist to slam the dingler from all his might when he suddenly heard something crashing in the aisles deeper in the walls of knowledge. Okita instantly rose his head and rushed towards the sound passing the over-waxed floor just to barely grab one of the shelves to prevent himself from sliding too far. As he pulled himself slightly back he could finally uncover the source of the sound. It was an old woman or rather her but standing out from a pile of books. Well, it was either woman's but or a book monster with a tumor. And we all know nobody's sending Okita to a mission that might actually be fun, don't we?
Okita finally approached the moaning pile of books and pushed the books on both of his sides to uncover the source of the racket - an old woman, presumably the librarian. He then helped the woman get up by grabbing her above hips and lifting her up so that she could get grounding. After that he introduced himself. " I guess I should introduce myself, I am Okita. One of the guys sent here to... Woah, this place sure gets cleaned often. " Okita looked around as the old woman dusted herself off and responded : " Well, I am Aoi, the librarian here. " She then put her left hand on her back obviously involuntary pointing out her backache. She then leaned down to pick up the books that had imprisoned her just a moment a go. What a devotion to work Okita thought to himself as the women proceeded to speak. " There's a lot of sprawling youth here lately. No one to enjoy a book though, their here just for the mission ". You could here some sadness in her voice. Okita started to feel quite bad a bout himself as he was no exception so he instantly, stepped before the woman ducked down in fron of here, right by the books, and gently tapped on her shoulder helping to push her up. This was signal for her no to bother. He then remained ducked and started stacking the books on the ground on his left hand. Aoi at the same time smiled and slowly slid away back in the direction towards her desk. She dragged her feet and yet kept her head up high. The woman was spiteful.
After he finished stacking the books and eventually removed the floored pile by placing the books in their places. Least how he thought Okita went forth to ask the old lady for another assignment only to find her sleeping and drooling on the journal. Judging her age he would consider checking the pulse but the sounds coming from the woman either meant that she's breathing or that she's been possessed. After another look around Okita saw that everything was still in order so he decided to leave. After all new mess will be made soon enough. New genins, more suitable than Okita shouldn't be too far off either.
