1 Guard Duty [C Rank Mission] Sat Jun 11, 2016 10:28 pm

As he sat eating his sushi lunch, Genbu wondered what his next assignment would be. The last mission was certainly interesting, although he truly felt bad about the beating that he had put on the rogue ninja kids he had encounter on his way to place the Kiri sigil stone. After devouring his delicious dragon and tiger rolls, he cleaned up his plate and headed off towards the administration building. As he walked towards the administration, he began to ponder what mission he would take today. He hoped he wouldn’t have to do guard duty as it tended to be the most boring of assignments, but he would do it if he had to because boring ryo is worth just as much as exciting ryo. He entered the administration building to pick up his mission, and come to find out he had gotten stuck with guard duty. “Lovely….” He said to himself. “At least I can relax a bit before guard duty tonight….”
Genbu went back to his place to grab his things and take a quick nap before he had to report to his guard duty assignment. As he walked in to his apt, he threw his things on the floor and placed his guard duty assignment paperwork on the table. He went to his bed and plopped himself down onto the bed, still in his clothes. Before he knew it, he was fast asleep. A couple hours later, he awoke from his nap and realized he had overslept and only had a few minutes to get to his guard duty assignment. He grabbed his trusted sword Hebi and sprinted out to the gate to get to his duty station. As he arrived quite out of breath, his comrades for the night greeted him warmly and asked Genbu to sit for a moment at the gate while they went on the first patrol of the evening. Relieved by the fact he got to sit down, he quickly found a chair near the gate and sat himself down remaining vigilant. As he waited for his two comrades to return, he pondered to himself if the night was going to be dull or not. A part of him hoped it would be a nice quiet night and easy ryo. Another part of him wanted some excitement to break up the monotony of staring into the night, keeping the village safe from intruders.
His comrades returned from their patrol, Genbu prepared himself to take his own patrol. He picked himself up from his nice cushy seat he had been using and began to walk east along the village walls. As he walked, he kept his eye out for any suspicious activity. He walked all the way down the eastern wall, kicking rocks and nodding his head to a new beat he had heard the day before and was replaying in his mind. As he prepared to turn around and make his way back to the gate to finish up his patrol, he heard quite an unnerving sound. The deep howl of a wolf rung out through the night, echoing in the wind.
