A rough morning for a rough day: Shibirin had fallen face-first on the ground after his alarm clock had waked him up. ”Oh why did i accept this mission?”, Shibirin said to himself in his usual tired tone. He hadn’t the slightest clue to why he was always cranky in the morning, he was the one who had accepted the damn mission and he was the one who decided to wake up pretty early for it. The only reason Shibirin had agreed to the mission was because he hadn’t been in any other fight besides from the one he and Anshin had by the Reservoir and even then he wasn’t fighting with his true specialty.
He quickly got himself dressed with his usual attire: a plain, white buttoned shirt, long black pants, black ninja shoes and glasses were rested on the middle of his nose. The only thing he was missing was his sword. He kept it down stairs and in the basement; there he set up a small meditating mat and some candles. His mother thought he was weird for this, but he didn’t mind. On the wall in front of the small table he meditated at, was his sword. He had dusted it the other day and even polished it to perfection, some would say he was nuts for the thing. Nevertheless, he got it off the rack, threw it over his shoulders and let it rest behind his back. He went back up the stairs and out of the house: he had forgotten his breakfast.

Shibirin made his way towards the arena, for that’s where the man was said to be. The kazekage had also mentioned something about he being from the wind country, so he hadn’t travelled far in order to get to Sunagakure. As Shibirin entered the big, rounded building, he saw the man in the centre, standing in a pose that suggested he had been waiting for a while: arms crossed and one eye brow arched up. ”So you’re the genin they sent me?” the man called out. Shibirin felt like the guy was mocking him. ”That is i, you’re the pathetic ninja i was told to beat?” said Shibirin with confidence. He didn’t give the guy much time to reply, after all, they were here to fight, not talk.

Now smoothly drawing his sword from his back with his right hand, Shibirin kept his eyes on his opponent at all times. He saw the guy getting into some sort of stance, so Shibirin assumed that the guy was a Taijutsuist. Either way, Shibirin was sure he could take him out. Shibirin now made his way slowly towards the guy, his sword now resting on his right shoulder. He then came to a sudden halt, as he saw the man begin to take charge towards him. ’So he wants the first blow, ey?’, Shibirin thought, just as he let the weight of the sword go to its tip and he held it by his side with his right hand. He gave the guy a mean look, just before the guy threw a nasty punch towards Shibirin’s head. Naturally, Shibirin would jerk his head to the left and do a 90 degree pivot towards the right as the guy’s punch went without anything in front for it to hit. Shibirin thought that was it, but then the guy paused and raised his right foot up and around, in an attempt to kick Shibirin’s right side rib cage. Shibirin had been foolish not to see this coming, as a result to this; he had no choice but to take the blow. He went flying towards the ground, but thankfully the kick hadn’t been big enough to break any bones. As soon as he had hit the ground, he pushed himself up to a sitting position with the hand that didn’t occupy his sword, but soon sprung back up to his feet when he saw the man coming back for another attack.

This guy was fast, Shibirin had to admit, but maybe he could slow him down. Yes, Shibirin had the right jutsu, but he needed to get the guy close to him but not too close. The man was heading straight towards him, so this may be his one and only chance. Shibirin weaved the sheep, boar, ram and serpent handsigns before chanting out: ”Earth Style: Earth Changing Terrain!”, just as the guy went to roundhouse kick Shibirin on the side of his head. Just as the guy lifted his leg off the ground, the rock underneath him turned from solid rock to gooey mud. The guy’s leg that he used for support sank in the mud and his body sank slightly aswell, but the guy wasn’t handicapped. This ninja was surely higher than the regular genin, he must’ve been at least of jounin level. He was able to 360 spin his entire body on the spot, whilst in the mud and managed to roundhouse kick Shibirin at least once on the other side of his head.

Shibirin went flying backwards once more, but he didn’t stop to sit like last time, he rose to his feet immediately and held his sword in front of him with both hands on the sheath. He saw the nin quickly pull himself out of the mud, obviously Shibirin needed to increase its range, but he couldn’t afford to repeat it now. He decided he was going to make the first attack this time, as he saw his opponent had just about recovered from sinking in the mud and as up and ready to retaliate. Shibirin ran towards the guy, sword held down to the side with his right hand and as he came to an arn’s length away from the nin, he performed his kenjutsu move: Misinterpreted Swing towards the nin. He saw the man swing his body away from the left slash, but sadly the kenjutsu move had a trick to it. As Shibirin’s swing came half way to completing its slahe, he twisted his arm in a 180 degree manor and slashed at the nin from the right. The nin had just walked into a dead end, for if this were a real battle, Shibirin would’ve decapitated the guy’s head, just like that.

Had he disappeared into thin air? No, in fact he had just dodged the move so lightning fast, that Shibirin hadn’t noticed him standing on the top row of one of the arena seats. He had his legs crossed, as if he were sitting there the whole time, obviously to mock Shibirin for his lack of speed. Shibirin was at ease, he re-sheathed his weapon and went up to the guy. He only stop at the first row and said, ”So, was i good?”. The guy let out a loud laugh and said, ”No, you failed. Next!” in a loud and cruel way. Shibirin walked home that day with only one thought in his head, ’I need to train more, because i swear i had him with that move’.
