Sekuro sat at the desk of their clan meeting place, he called in three other more prominent clan members he knew he could trust to break down the situation for them. In a short sense, Sekuro went on a mission and found out that someone of their clan or with their Dojutsu had worked their way up the criminal underworld. As they sat there, Sekuro shared with them that he may have gathered word through the village admin building about a possible gang hideout, he had put it in discretely and outside of the mission boards so that no one would interfere. He asked for Fukai, a newly met acquaintance, to join him on his surveillance of the area. It was located in the mountains, supposedly they had set up a camp at the base of the mountain and into the cave structure within. He alerted the village and they gave him permission to go and survey the site as best they could without engaging anyone, they would also be required to stay hidden, if they were discovered then they would jeopardize the site. Normally, they would send a squad of chuunin to clear out the cave but since it was merely surveillance he got special permission because of the clan. Still in his office as they were discussing it, So, Fukai think you'll be able to help me out? I want you, because I want to meet you a bit more and get to know you better. Fukai agreed and Sekuro gave him the info, Ok, well we'll set off at 3:00 pm this afternoon, the sun will start setting by the time we get there so we won't have long but the cover of darkness should allow us to stay hidden. Sekuro would adjourn his fellow clansmen and go prepare, dawning dark clothes and preparing his ninja tools and grabbing some binoculars for him and Fukai to use there as well, he would take a quick nap and rest up, who knows how long this night will be.
Sekuro woke up from his rest to eat lunch and then head to the meeting place again, he would take it easy since he woke up a few hours early and was in no rush. His walk over to the meeting place was slow, he took a while thinking about different scenarios, having Fukai along with him who doesn't have too much experience might be a problem, not that Sekuro had much more, but he was being held responsible for his safety as well. He also wanted to mark a few sights on the map that might provide some good angles on the camp and even into the entrance of the cave assuming there would be enough light. He sat there at his desk, awaiting Fukai's arrival, he would have about another thirty minutes before he was supposed to, but he arrived ten minutes later. Surprised to see Sekuro there already, Sekuro began to fill him in on the location, and handed him the single eye binocular that he had grabbed, keeping the double eye for himself. He handed Fukai a map of his own with his four lookout spots marked with a black X on it.
He explained, trying to be as thorough as possible for him, Here's some binoculars and a map, our goal is to survey so it's important that no matter what we see that we stay out of it and nearly mark it down. On that map, we are going to draw out the camp coverage and cave entrances, as well as any patrol patterns we can pick out. Normally this is an easy task for a single ANBU ninja but we're gonna be doing it for them while we're out there. After answering and clarifying any questions or concerns that Fukai may have had they began to set off, Sekuro began to lead the way out, stopping at the door he spoke to Fukai without turning around. Listen Fukai, I'm about to ask you of something but this mission is more important to me than simply surveying the camp. Should anything happen to me, I want you to get out of there and go get help, from early estimates the sheer number may be too much for just one of us to handle. So, if anything happens, forget me and go get help, maybe I can get more information while you're away, that's all I ask. Sekuro would ignore any interjection he might have had, there was nothing to discuss in terms of this, and he wouldn't risk Fukai coming in and getting captured or killed as well. They took off heading for the valley of mountains, mountains would be scattered around Iwa, but he knew roughly where they were going already, so it would cut down on their search time.
The pair arrived at the first and nearest site just before 5:00 pm, Sekuro checked his watch and marked the time on his notes, then started mapping out the clan, several tents sat outside between two mountains in a thin valley, Sekuro and Fukai marked from the mountain opposite to start and could see into the cave, not far but enough to know that their operation moved inside of it as well, maybe 30 bandits on sight, but non of them looking too strong, there might be one or two inside the cave over-seeing the operation that could prove a challenge.
They spent a bit of time looking for patrol paths and any other operations going on, Sekuro used his binoculars to look into a convey just arriving, Hey Fukai, look at that, looks like a human trafficking operation here too, mark it down, It pissed Sekuro off, but he couldn't interfere as kids, women, and older people in general were unloaded into the cave, no men though, probably killed in their raids. He waited until it was done, he turned to Fukai and spoke quietly, Hey, before we move to the second point I am going to try to get a closer look, remember what I said, no matter what happens, don't interfere, and don't get caught either! Sekuro headed a few hundred meters down the mountain, trying to get in closer to see what was in the tents andpossibly a bit further into the cave, he lied down on a cliff ledge to look in closer. He left his notes and map up with Fukai, taking only his binoculars and his basic ninja tools down with him.
As he lied there he noticed a patrol heading towards the cliff from a path down below, they must be using this spot as part of their patrols, he stood up but placed his foot to close to the cliff trying to look down on the patrol beneath him now. His foot broke the edge of the cliff, and rocks rained down on the patrol of three or four guys beneath him as he slide down shortly after, trying to grab the ledge and maybe save himself more of the rock broke and followed him down towards the camp. The fall wasn't horrible but would probably knock him out cold, as he fell he grabbed the shuriken he had on him and threw them at the bandits below, maybe he could hit them and lower there numbers in case he stayed conscience, doubtful as he fell downwards. Sekuro really just hoped that Fukai would stay out of it and go get more help so he didn't get into any more trouble now.
