Clan History: The Burasu Clan originated in Otogakure when some ninja tried to figure out a way to prevent their enemy from seeing. As sound was their style of jutsu, they thought that this would give them an enormous advantage in the field of battle. However, after only two generations, the early Burasu clan decided to relocate to Sunagakure to continue its research. It was there that the Raitoboru jutsu, a jutsu that worked by collecting and concentrating light, was developed. The Burasu Clan soon grew and expanded to other villages throughout the land, never being particularly powerful in any. The first great leader of the clan, the one who was the first to see infrared and ultraviolet light, was named Nobuya Burasu. His daughter, Kayage, is accredited with being the most powerful ninja the Burasu have ever produced, and is considered the founder of the modern Burasu Clan. Being able to see chakra came from the marriage between Kyage and a member of Konaha's infamous Hyuga Clan.
Kekkei Genkai Description: The Burasu clan specializes in collecting and concentrating light by fusing it with their chakra. They are master manipulators of light, and can use it to create a great advantage. Due to so much experimentation with light's effects on the eyes and brain, the Burasu clan discovered how to alter the eye itself to see infrared and ultraviolet light and transfer it to the brain as normal imagery without having to modify the brain itself. However, this meant that they were unfortunately unable to see the normal spectrum of light. They do not need to activate their Buragan to see infrared and ultraviolet light. They can see in the dark because of the wavelengths of light they are able to see. They see the world as basically a bunch of greyscale shapes with defined and precise edges, but no detail. They would be able to see that a person was sweating, but not what the pattern on their socks was. They are not able to see the full spectrum of ultraviolet and infrared light, just a total range of wavelengths that is slightly lesser than the range of the visible light spectrum, so their brains are not overloaded with stimuli. Sight is basically the same as a normal person's, but without color. See drawbacks for limitations to this doujutsu.
Their other senses have accommodated for the fact that they have a reduced vision by being boosted. +1 tier to perception for all things non-visual.
Drawbacks: Because the Burasu Clan's members can only see infrared and ultraviolet light, they are colorblind. This also means that they are unable to read without having the words being written with special ink. Burasu clan members can see definitive outlines of things very well and clearly, but cannot see details. People other than the Burasu Clan cannot use the Buragan Activation. Lightning, being a huge source of both uv and infrared light, is this clan's weakness, despite it being one of the clan's elements. After a member of the Burasu clan sees a Raiton technique, they suffer -1 to perception out of their eyes for 3 turns. If the technique is Rank A or higher, they also suffer -1 to reaction time for two turns. If the technique is Rank S or SS, they suffer their loss in perception for the entire battle. This also means that Burasu shinobi intentionally dull their Raiton releases as not to blind themselves, making their Raiton ninjutsu teqhniques (besides Kekkei Genkai) -1 in effectiveness. There is no penalty to Raiton genjutsu or Taijutsu.
Members: NA (new clan)
Kekkei Genkai Jutsu:
- Raitoboru:
- Name: Raitoboru
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Element: Earth, Lightning
Range: Self
Specialty: Ninjutsu (Kekkei Genkai)
Duration: Maintainable (see below)
Cooldown: Duration +2
Description: This jutsu creates 10, one inch wide solid black orbs of concentrated light and chakra, called Raitoboru, for the purposes of using them for other jutsu. The Raitoboru can either float around the user, slowly orbiting them ambiently, or be disguised as jewelery. Although they deal no physical damage on contact, they can knock a ninja back a few meters with a direct hit and can be expended at will with a single handsign. For a cost of five chakra, any number can be detonated as a flashbang, releasing their stored light. The Raitoboru travel at 15 m/s and the flash has a speed of 15 m/s, with a 2m radius in which it's able to blind the victim for a single turn turn.
At the cost of 5 additional chakra at any point with a single hand sign, an additional 3 Raitoboru can be created, though the user cannot have any more than 30 active at any one time.
If at any point there are no Raitoboru circling the ninja, the technique ends, and commences it's cool down.
- Disorienting Orbit Jutsu:
- Name: Disorienting Orbit Jutsu
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: A (costs 35 chakra, plus 10 per turn in genjutsu)
Type: Supplementary
Element: NA
Range: Line of Sight within 20m (not an AOE)
Specialty: Genjutsu (Kekkei Genkai)
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: Duration + 5 posts.
Description: Requires "Raitoboru". Requires five Raitoboru. The Raitoboru surrounding the user begin to spin rapidly and release seemingly random bursts of light at speeds of 40m/s. These "seemingly random" lights are specifically released at certain wavelengths on the borders of the visible light spectrum. Each Raitoboru releases fifteen rays of light, though not at the same time. These rays are about a half an inch wide. They are not fired in random directions, but aimed (but not guided) by the user. If a ray hits one of the target's eyes, the target is trapped in a stunning genjustu for two posts, allowing the user to prepare another jutsu. Expends all five Raitoboru.
- Buragan:
- Name: Buragan Activation
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C-A (scales)
Type: Supplementary
Element: None
Range: Self
Specialty: Kekkei Genkai
Duration: Maintainable
Cooldown: Duration+2
Description: Allows the user to activate their eyes to be able to see chakra within 35m of the user, but only in the line of sight of the user. Also allows the user to see color as a normal person would within a meter, in addition to the uv, infrared, and chakra signatures. This means that they could also theoretically read, but most prefer braille due to the fact that they can only read with this jutsu activated. Can be useful in reading scrolls though.
At B rank, they can see chakra, UV, and infared 40m. At this level, the user's vision is focused enough to grant a +1 boost to perception. At A-Rank, the user's chakra vision raises to 70m. C-level makes the eyes appear jet-black, with a white circle, costs 15 to activate and 5 to maintain. B- level replaces the white circle with a red one of slightly smaller size, costs 20 to activate and 5 to maintain. A-level Makes the circle even smaller and turns it purple, costs 25 to activate and 10 to maintain.
- Raitoboru Barrage:
- Name: Raitoboru Barrage
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Element: None
Range: 25m
Specialty: Ninjutsu (Kekkei Genkai)
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: 10
Description: Requires "Raitoboru". Requires twenty activated Raitoboru. Pelts the opponent with Raitoboru, dealing major burn (3rd-4th degree) damage to the affected areas, but no bruising or other physical damage. However, the released chakra from the Raitoboru causes a disruption in the target's chakra network, ending any maintained jutsu of A rank or lower. Upon impact, the Raitoboru create burned areas of about a 1.5 inch radius. This jutsu works by releasing the concentrated light and chakra when it contacts the opponent to act as a short burst of laser-like energy. This is not like a pulse, it is more like a bullet. They travel at speeds of about 70 m/s. All twenty are launched either one-by-one or all at once, according to the shinobi's discretion. The shinobi will never have to touch a Raitoboru in this jutsu, the ones floating around them will fling themselves. Expends all twenty Raitoboru.
