- Scope out a traveling jewel traders caravan:
Mission name: Scope out a traveling jewel traders caravan
Mission rank: C
Objective: Observe and bring back a detailed report on the caravan.
Location: Hi no Kuni Border
Reward: 320 ryo
Mission description: There is a rumored to be corrupt jewel trader that travels with a caravan. Your job is to gather intel on the lay out of the caravan.
Mission details: The Caravan is a widely successful but rumored to be corrupt group of merchants that stole or murdered for their jewels. You are being hired directly by a private unnamed party to investigate the lay out of the caravan itself. The mission description also includes a drop point to deliver your findings.
Ryuu woke up very early in the morning. Today was the starting day . For a week Ryuu would be scoping out a caravan to see what they did on a day to day basis, their schedule, guards and everything that was need. He had a week to complete the mission and on the eighth day he was expected to go to a drop off point at midnight to give up the intel.
Ryuu thought back to how he had gotten the mission. He had been returning from a training exercise when he was stopped by a man wearing a fedora.
"Hey kid. You're a ninja, right? You want some cash? If so I've got a job for ya?"
He had recognized the man by listening to conversations. Apparently he was the man to go to for missions that payed really well. The problem was that the missions weren't sanctioned by Konoha so if someone was caught doing them then that person would be in big trouble. For a minute Ryuu considered walking pass as if he hadn't heard the man but he really needed the cash. He had spent a lot of his money at Takigakure and he needed a refill.
"What's the deal?" Ryuu asked.
The fedora man gave a smirk.
He was given the mission details and the location of the drop off point with a parting, "Let's see how you do with this job. If you're successful you'll be contacted again.", the man walked away.
Ryuu wondered who it was that wanted the intel and what they were going to do with the information. Maybe it was someone whose jewels were stolen or someone whose loved one was murdered for a jewel? Maybe they were planning on stealing back all the jewels? Well whoever it was and whatever the reason was it didn't matter. As long as he got his money he was alright with what he was about to do.
Ryuu had a quick bath with a scentless soap and got dressed in a rather skin tight shirt and shorts. He had a breakfast (he needed the energy of course) that consisted of cereal and orange juice. Then he got his backpack filled with essentials and left. Mr. Whiskers came with him today whereas Kai had declined coming on this new mission.
He had heard of the caravan before but he had not heard the rumours that they stole or killed others for the jewels . Supposedly the jewels that they sold were of the best quality and that they provided some really rare jewels as well. Ryuu made his way to where the caravan was parked then he climbed a tree to observe the what the merchants did. The caravan was rather large and it was painted an odd colour. It was yellow-a really bright yellow-and a bit of an eye sore. The caravan was also being guarded by three men. Ryuu stayed in the tree for hours until the caravan door opened and a man stepped out. He was wearing a costume, not unlike a carnival ringmaster, with a long red coat, white undershirt, black pants and boots and a black top hat. He had a really curly mustache too and Ryuu giggled (mentally) at how the man looked. As the day went on various other people entered and exited the caravan. Some left with packages and others left empty-handed. For six days Ryuu watched the caravan observing what was happening in the place. Everyday at nine thirty p.m. one of the night guards, Ken, entered the caravan to give the place a thorough search for intruders and then he left. Ryuu made a note of that, a plan already forming in his mind.
Finally the night of the seventh day came. Ryuu listened as he heard the sounds of persons moving around in the caravan. He counted the guards that were there now and came up with five. Eventually all the sounds in the caravan quieted and the time approached for when Ken would come to search the caravan. Right before he was supposed to do his search Ken announced that he needed to take a leak. Ryuu grinned at that. How wonderful of this man to create such an opportunity for him. The man walked away with a walking stick in his hand that he used as a weapon. Ryuu already knew where Ken was heading. Ken had a spot he always went to for this purpose so Ryuu rushed ahead and left a tree branch in the way. Ken tripped over the branch, the walking stick falling from his hand and by the time Ken steadied himself and retrieved his stick Ryuu was already in place. He had henged himself into Ken's walking stick. After Ken did his thing he made his way back to the caravan, entering it and greetedthe guy who liked to dress like a carnival ring master. This man was the lead merchant. The lead merchant nodded his head then headed off to bed. Ken waited until the lead merchant went to bed before he headed to the caravan kitchen and, resting the walking stick against the wall, went to eat. Ryuu changed back into himself before making a clone and henging it into the walking stick. Then he left to explore the caravan, entering each room and checking the place while mentally cataloging all items in each room. Already he had a layout of each room in his mind.
Finally when Ken finished his search he made a stop to the bathroom and Ryuu took this time to dispel his clone and henge back into the walking stick. Afterwards Ken left the caravan, returning to his spot outside and resting his stick against a tree. Ryuu changed back and quietly left to retrieve the original walking stick and replace it.
When Ryuu returned to his home, he wrote out a detailed report of what he had seen and went to bed. When morning came he made his way to the drop off point. It was at the Hi no Kuni border and the fedora man was already waiting for him. No words were said, Ryuu just handed the man the report and then he left.

Name: Transformation Technique (変化の術 ~ Henge no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: Self.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: -5 every other post.
Cooldown: Duration +1 post.
Description: Given all the missions ninja are assigned to--battle, intelligence gathering, diversions--this is a priceless ninjutsu. It is typically used to change into people other than oneself, but one also has the ability to change into animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons; however, the object can be no smaller than 1 foot long in at least one dimension. Despite this, this technique has an abundance of uses. The transformation of a master of this technique (which is generally an Academy graduation requirement) makes the user physically and visually the same as the transformed person or object in question, giving the user the exact mass and physical qualities of whatever they transformed into. This is one of the most basic ninjutsu, as such most shinobi know how to perform it. This technique does not give a ninja the abilities or jutsu of a person they transform into, nor can give the user the damaging ability of a weapon (however, this can be used as a bluff). Sensory techniques can easily pick out someone transformed using this jutsu: the user's chakra would be active, as well as the fact that their biological functions and scent are not masked by this jutsu. Costs 5 chakra on activation, and an additional 5 chakra every other post after that.
Name: Doppelganger Technique (影分身の術 ~ Bunshin no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: Clones can go up to 15 meters away from the user before dispersing.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: Clones last until dissipated or cancelled.
Cooldown: Five posts after all clones are dispersed.
Description: Using this technique, the user can create up to five intangible clones that appear physically identical to the user; these are created within 3 meters of the caster. The clones do not disturb the area around them, don't have shadows or body heat, and as such, in applicable situations, ninja can pick them out with varying difficulty. The clone has no physical form, and as such cannot attack. When any foreign presence passes through the clone, be it physical (a fist, a rock, a sword) or an opponent's jutsu, the clone will dissipate. It's mainly used to help mask the user, helping them attack an opponent who is superior at dodging. It costs 5 chakra to create clones.
