Kyohei
D-rank
“How long has it been since I last visited this place?” Kyohei thought to himself as he looked down from the rooftops on the remains of an old, fire damaged home, “So much has changed and yet this place remained exactly how we left it.” The ash blackened wood and stone that represented all that remained of Kyohei’s childhood home appeared as little more than shadows under the night sky, but as he looked upon it the young Uchiha could redraw every inch of the place he grew up in his mind from memory. He had consciously made an effort to avoid returning to this place since leaving it behind, seeing no reason to reopen old wounds, but of late those wounds had reopened all on their own. Visions of his life’s great tragedies had once again began to haunt his dreams, leaving his nights restless and dark.
He could feel his eyes growing more and more powerful by the day, and with that power came… a hunger. The life of piece that he had once tried to lead, distancing himself from the prison that was his past, was no more. The presence of Orochi Enaka and Kyohei’s recent involvement in his Black ANBU all but assured that. Everything about that man was shrouded in darkness, but there was one thing that Kyohei knew to be certain, even through all of the masks and mystery surrounding Enaka’s true intentions: Nothing would ever be able to return to the way it was, Kyohei would never find peace as long as Enaka lived upon this earth.
In order to remedy the disease upon this world that was the Orochi regent however, Kyohei needed to become more powerful. Discarding the power of his bloodline as nothing more than a coincidence at birth, not a defining art of his being, was a path he could no longer afford to work. He had told himself that he would not be a slave to his name, that he did not need to plunge himself completely into the darkness of the hate curse that lurked in the darkest recesses of every Uchiha’s spirit to be strong. For so many years he had believed that to be true and still did… but simply strong was no longer enough. The piece that he thought he had created for himself through his strength was nothing more than an illusion. The world he lived in was still one of war and hatred and the longer he spent hiding from that fact, pretending he could escape, the worse it would become.
The path he now needed to walk was clear. The darkness that he once turned his back on would become his savior. He would truly embrace the accursed power of the Uchiha for the first time in his life and in doing so the chains that bound him to the limitations of “shinobi” would be severed. The hatred of the Uchiha would become his liberator and in his liberation his flames would purify this world. There would be no shadow or burrow deep enough for even a snake to seek shelter in. And so, with hesitant footsteps he would march forward towards the abandoned home, returning to where it all began.
