Clan History: Long ago, there was a young woman by the name of Senseri, who was the daughter of a wealthy land owner. She was renowned for her beauty and her voice, which was said to charm the gods themselves. During times of drought, she offered a song to the gods and rain came pouring down on the fields. But she was not quite perfect. From the day she was born, while her ears could catch the sound of a pin falling on the other side of the house, her eyes could see nothing. And so it was she slowly became aware of her world by the way it sounded, and over time she found that even people had sound, that they each sounded like a single pure note. Some harsh, some soft, and some dissonant, but no matter the note she could never find one that matched hers.

When finally she came of age to be married, she asked her father to give a test for her hand in marriage. She asked that any who wished to marry her were to pick her by her song alone. So one by one the suitors were brought forth, and behind a screen sat the princess, along with two of the land's most renowned singers. The two women sang beautiful songs, and Senseri sang the song of her favorite bird. Suitor after suitor guessed wrong and left. It was not until some years later, after her father had given up hope, that a strange youth came.

As he sat and waited for the test to begin he closed his eyes and did something strange: he rolled up his sleeves. As each song was sung he shook his head and no more then a few moments after Senseri began he smiled and told the king that she was his princess. The princess came out from behind the screen flanked by the two ladies and smiled behind her fan. She asked him how he had known and he did not reply. It was not until she lowered her fan with a frown and repeated her question that he turned with a bow and said, "No one else could match your song, my lady."

When she asked why he had not replied the first time, he replied softly, "Forgive me, for I am deaf." The girl's eyes widened as did those of the others in the room. Some cried "False" and "Cheat" but he smiled at the princess alone, and at first she was puzzled. At least until she saw the secret in his eyes. A way of hearing not by sound, but by the voice of the person's spirit, as much felt as heard by the ears. She married him, and their child was the first born of the Haruto bloodline.
In modern times, the Haruto clan is still high-ranking in Kiri society due to their royal origins, but not everyone knows of their bloodline outside of the village.

Kekkei Genkai Description: The clan is able to sense the vibrations given off by all living things. Plants give off weaker signatures, followed by smaller animals, and gradually larger animals give off more significant vibrations. After a few years, the clan member is able to register different people (including themselves) as different pitches and frequencies. However, they feel these vibrations on their skin as much as hearing them. As such, physical contact with people is incredibly painful. The only people that the clan members can stand being close to are those with similar, if not identical, frequencies to the member of the clan.

Drawbacks: Physical contact with most people is incredibly painful. When using or being hit by Taijutsu basic attacks or techniques, they take a -1 tier to their Perception due to the pain. This lasts for the post after they make contact with a person or animal. Sustained contact reduces their Strength and Speed by 1 tier for the first post, then their Reaction Time the second, and their Endurance the third.

Description: Sensitivity allows the user to sense the slight vibrations given off by all living things, plant or animal. Plants give off the weakest signatures, followed by smaller animals, and after that, the larger the creature the stronger the signature. After about four years, Haruto members develop the ability to read these vibrational signatures in relation to themselves. In essence, some signatures begin to 'resonate' and others become 'dissonant', rather then all of them being a similar buzzing feeling on the bearer's skin and ears. Since the vibrations are felt as well, physical contact is painful. The only time that the user can stand to be touched is if the pitch is similar or identical to the user's. All others will become painfully dissonant any time the user comes too close (around 1 meter). Physical contact with most people is incredibly painful.
