Approved missions will be placed here: [x]To be Modded
I'm aware the thread linked above is currently crowded with non-approved missions. As Bokuden requested, this separate thread was made for missions in need of modding, and as such they will gradually be moved from and to the thread. I've been working on quite a few missions with the idea to app more stealth/chaos oriented missions while dropping the need for death and destruction.
- Riot! (Village Version):
Mission name: Riot! (Village Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective: Take control of a riot!
Location: Any region within the Village or a location with a town.
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)
Mission description:
Some cur has incited the local people to rise up against their local leader and band together in a riot. While most are merely shouting in anger with raised fists, some are actually causing destruction to nearby buildings by throwing stones and smashing windows. While it is not your job to apprehend those brigands, your 'creative' mind is needed to disperse the crowd and mitigate the damage.
The problem starts here: the crowd can't be persuaded with words of any form, and its hard to spot the leader at this point in the riot. Charm, intimidation, logic, diplomacy... a riled up crowd has no ears for reason of any kind. Worse even, push it too hard, and you'll be pelted with stones and sticks as well. Killing civilians is naturally out of the question, and lethal damage may be considered just as bad.
Perhaps a little bit of controlled chaos might do it?
Mission details:
The riot is located in your Hidden Village or a town nearby of your choice.
While conflicts with infiltrating shinobi are a possibility, your main concern is to disperse the crowd and report back with information. Engaging infiltrators with death as a result will result in a failure of your mission as you can't possibly devout your time on such a powerful opponent and a raging crowd at the same time. You naturally fail the mission when the riot gets out of hand and results in severe damage to the village or ends with heavy casualties and death counts.
- Riot! (Crime Version):
Mission name: Riot! (Crime Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective: Take control of a riot!
Location: Any region within the Village or a location with a town.
Reward: 500 + 250 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 50 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +1000 wc)
Mission description:
Thanks to meticulous preparations, the people have been riled up against the local village elder. They have gathered at the town square, sticks, stones and pitchforks at the ready and have seemingly fallen into a passive blockade filled with complainant muttering. All they need now is a little push in the right direction to allow it to escalate into an angry mob...
To get this done, you'll need to check two big boxes for a successful mission:- Firstly, you'll need to fuel the fire and turn a group of people itching to cause havoc into an actual rioting mob. Push them over the limit and let the wave of fury roll over the village! Show the example, be the paragon of chaos, the first one to throw the stone, it matters not how you get it done... it matters that you get it done.
- Secondly, assuming local authorities will try to step in, you might have to push the buttons and force the rioting mob to spiral completely out of control. Raised fists are one thing, but impending destruction under your guidance? That's where it's at.
Mission details:
You naturally fail the mission when the riot is subdued without inflicting apprehensive damage. if you are identified as being the fire starter or your identity is otherwise known, you fail the mission as well as local authorities will simply track you down (now, or with time).
If you engage enemy shinobi and are forced to rely on brute force and death, you failed the mission just as much on the account of being an assassin/murderer rather than an agent of chaos and discord. Restrict them, bind them, blind them, but do not maim or kill them as that gives them a reason for vindictive retribution.- Firstly, you'll need to fuel the fire and turn a group of people itching to cause havoc into an actual rioting mob. Push them over the limit and let the wave of fury roll over the village! Show the example, be the paragon of chaos, the first one to throw the stone, it matters not how you get it done... it matters that you get it done.
- Phantom of the Opera (Village/Repeatable):
Mission name: Phantom of the Opera (Village/Repeatable)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)
Mission Description:
There's been a nocturnal artist on the prowl within the Village, painting on the walls of the kage's building, our monuments and the graves of our fallen. So much as everything of sentimental or moral value has become the canvas of his artistic creativity. What's worse is, the messages of concerning propaganda is gaining influence as it upsets the citizens and even lured a handful of them to join illicit activities in the slums.
As an agent of discord yourself, you know the creative twists of the mind that doesn't abide by calcified logic and imposed regulations. Exactly for that reason you've been asked to undertake this mission, which will count two parts:- First, you'll need to find him. So far, no one has been able to spot him.
- Should you succeed in spotting him, your mission is 'simply' to tail him. Remain unseen and undiscovered while you shadow him to his lair or to his patron, if he has one. After that, return and provide us the information.
Mission Details:
You fail the mission when you have been discovered or feel the need to play 'the hero' and try to catch, maim or kill him. Your only duty is shadowing and espionage to provide any and all information of use.
Name: "Phantom"
Age: ???
General Appearance: Dressed for the night, this person wears dark colours that allow him/her to blend in perfectly with his nightly environment, bestowing a -1 perception upon those tailing him/her.
Personality: Shady. Quiet. Professional.
Goals: Spread propaganda and graffiti without being seen.
Abilities:
- A rank Fuuton, A rank Doton
- A rank Genjutsu, A rank ninjutsu.
He makes use of genjutsu & ninjutsu to remain invisible, cloaked and unidentifiable, while ninjutsu will additionally provide him with all utility needed to succeed at his missions. The shadow WILL make use of various sensory jutsu to be sure he is not followed or tracked. If suspicion of being tracked rises, he WILL increase the use of these jutsu.
Items:
- Painting/Graffiti tools.- First, you'll need to find him. So far, no one has been able to spot him.
- Phantom of the Opera (Crime/Repeatable):
Mission name: Phantom of the Opera (Crime/Repeatable)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 + 250 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 50 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +1000 wc)
Mission Description:
Your patron is a collector of cultural art - statues, musical instruments, masquerade costumes, paintings, trinkets, relics, weapons and armour of past dynasties. He is willing to pay big for an intricate item of exceptional rarity or great artistic/cultural value. If only he had someone that was willing to sell it to him... Like you.
Naturally, such collector pieces don't grow on trees and are generally not carried on the person. Nope. They are kept safe... at home. Sure, other collectors generally have a set of traps, alarms, guard dogs and what-nots, but at least those are a much 'easier' place to break in than the local bank that's heavily guarded by shinobi. So that's where you'll find your next sweep.
You better come prepared for this kind of mission...
Mission Details:
You fail the mission if you are identified, captured or simply fail to bring your patron his requested collector's item. If you kill or destroy any of your obstacles, you're no longer a business opportunity - meaning, the deal's off. And don't try to sell him a fake copy either, he knows that sort of items better than you do.
There are few key obstacles to pass:- Walls: If climbing over them was that easy, they wouldn't be in this list. Touch them, and you get shocked. You get shocked, your intrusion is detected. You are detected, you fail the mission.
- Guard dog: There's only one and her name is, "Precious Lullaby". She may be old and a little tone deaf, but she remains a dog with a sharp nose for the stench of thievery. Between sniff and bark, you have two seconds. If she barks, the house is alarmed. If she bites, you'll bleed for the next 5 posts.
- Guards: Three of them. One outside, two inside the house. They have B rank stats, B rank stun batons and B rank ninjutsu, B rank element of choice. They make use of sensory and trapping jutsu.
- Alarm: A general name for various ways: bright light spotting you, barking dog, shouting commands, calling in reinforcements, your friendly neighbourhood siren...
- Safe: Good quality, good lock. Your price waits inside. Hopefully you brought something to open it. Don't make any noise now.
- Walls: If climbing over them was that easy, they wouldn't be in this list. Touch them, and you get shocked. You get shocked, your intrusion is detected. You are detected, you fail the mission.
- Thug Life (Village Version):
Mission name: Thug Life (Village Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)
Mission Description:
There's been a real plague of crimes lately, and it seems whoever's behind the scenes is one step ahead of us every time. While other shinobi are taking on the position of a body guard or that of a crime hunter, yours is more subtle. You'll need a perfect disguise to remain unnoticed, but you'll also need to talk the talk and walk the walk for this mission - meaning, if you're not ready to become part of the slums, you're already out.
That's where your missions starts. We need you to infiltrate. Your quick mind needs to pick up the slang, and the local cant. You'll have to become 'one of them' to the point even our men might confuse you for a gang member. While, yes, this gives you the rights to break someone's nose, killing remains forbidden - you are here to infiltrate, not to add to crime.
You'll probably be asked to conduct some unsavoury business. Do them if you must, but take note of who, what, why, where and how much. All information concerning illegal trafficking of any kind is information we need. Eventually, you'll be able to sketch out what the gang is truly about, its hierarchy, the bosses, the people, their philosophy.
But most importantly... you'll be able to find the mole on our side.
Mission Details:
Since this is a long-term mission rather than a short walk in the park, and no real dangerous combat is supposed to happen, the writer is free to write the mission out as he feels like.
You fail the mission when you are sniffed out or identified. If you kill, you're pulled back from the mission for not being able to 'handle the stress', thus failing the mission, and if you get killed... well, it's game over.
- Thug Life (Crime Version):
