Ability/Function: The knives are made from a special metal that can be infused through "chakra flow" with elemental chakra or Yin–Yang chakra to produce added effects. When infused with wind-natured chakra, it can easily pierce through stone. The knives' damage and effect can also be maximized if the person has a better control of their chakra.

Appearance: A highly uniquely-designed trench knife, these blades are worn like brass knuckles, but each one has a sharpened zigzag "tooth" over each knuckle, and a blade coming out of one end.
History: These knives are a custom order requested from the same weaponsmith that spun the spools of Naota's razor wire. Each knife is inscribed with an etching 'Forgive' and 'Forget' on Mercy and Innocence respectively.

My only concern is with the use of Yin-Yang chakra, as we've not used such a thing before....so allowing its use could be potentially bad. Besides that, I don't recall the trench knives ever mentioning it, anyway.

My point is that Shikamaru infused his own chakra, which would hold the ability of his Shadow Possesion jutsu, into Asuma's knives. When Shikamru threw the knife into someone's shadow, it acted like he was using the jutsu on them; he person was frozen in place. While I wont be using the blade for that purpose, I included it out of unconcious habit.
