Kenji Chikara

Kenji Chikara

D-rank
Teh Mission:

If anything was to come from Kenji's stay in Kirigakure, it woud be experience. He had gained quite the reputation back home, and he was clearly a fine shinobi, but it was true he had never been tested as such. He could only wish that his time spent defending Kirigakure would mold him into a greater assest for Kumogakure. It was a shame, really, that things had escalated to this level. Kenji wanted not to have to lay waste to so much, but he had no choice. He had entered the war, and there was no turning back now. He stepped outside of his room and leaned on the balcony looking over the war torn village. They managed to keep it in tack... somewhat. The renmants of what was a flourishing town could still be seen. His hands wrapped around the rail, squeezing tightly. His dark brown eyes beamed down, taking in fully what had happened and what would happened if defeat came upon him. He simply wouldn't allow it.

After a few more moments of rare solace that he had to rummage to find in the aching heart of war, Kenji walked back inside his room. He had on his ANBU uniform, as this was the quarters he was assingned when taking on ANBU affairs. He sat down on the edge of the bed and strapped on his high top boots, and laced them tightly. He adjusted his ANBU mask and made sure it was on tight. Kenji's ANBU armor fit snug, and he was just about ready to take on the mission that had in dressed in full ANBU garb.

The last items to obtain were his Hane and his long bow. His person was already scatterd with kunai and shuriken. He walked to the door and pushed it open slowly. He stepped out with his head surveying the hallway. He plodded down the steps. The mission dossier was in his back pocket. He needed not to read it over again, the details were engrained in his memory. There were assassins, like him, inside the walls of the battered village. Kenji’s first move was to maneuver through the city. He walked briskly through the streets, scanning the area of fluxing chakra. He wasn’t afraid of revealing himself, the way he saw it, the sooner they would confront him the sooner he would kill them. The Sennin didn’t know who their target was, but he was prepared to intervene on any attack the launched.

Down the streets he heard scuffling, followed by sight of civilians. The shinobi was momentarily perplexed at what they could be doing at a time like this. Then it became obvious. The area he was currently strolling through had been the site of a few battles, it wasn’t hard to discern that much, they were trying to rebuild already. Kenji shook his head at the sight, this wasn’t the time for a clean up or reconstruction period, this was a time for the fighters to fight, and they were fighting to protect the civilians. Kenji projected, “Sorry folks, this is no time for roaming about. This area has not been secured. For  your safety please head back to your quarters in the secured region. This area is currently hot.” His eyes fluttered behind his mask as he was basically ignored. He sighed, “listen, I understand” One of the civilians interrupted Kenji, “no you don’t! This is our village, and we have to sit around and watch it burn. We… we’re not just cleaning either.” The man was a broad shouldered man, and was doing most of the lifting. With him were two other healthy men. One of the guys walked into the house that they were cleaning up and brought out spears, well crafted if Kenji could say so, they also brought out a crate of wooden knives. “We want to help, we will help.” Kenji approached the broad shoulder man, they stood at equal height at looked each other in the face. “We have soldiers, we have shinobi from all nations, we even have the possible support of the Samurai. The shinobi are here to protect the civilians not put them in harms way. I do, understand. Before I moved to a major village, my town was minced by disputes and fighting. When the one of the bloodiest battles broke… That is enough about, I do not take my profession lightly, your village is safe in the hands of me and my comrades.” He knew his words were empty to the man, promises meant nothing when he stood in the midst of the carnage. The gentlemen eventually retreated to the secured region, and Kenji could now get back to work.

When he mentioned the battles that whipped through his town during his childhood, he began to think of the emotion that swirled through him then. He too, foolishly, wanted to join the front. And now here he was, drawn to a war that had nothing to do with him, a village that held no place in his heart. Yet, he was there, risking his life, for a greater good no doubt. He would want assistance from other villages if he found himself in a similar situation. Of course he thought his village was stronger, who didn’t hold the same opinion of their respective village. Regardless of such, he had no intention on losing, anything. It was time once again to strut with valor into battle.

As an elite stealth agent of Kumogakure, Kenji could sense a flicker of chakra being conjured; he bolted in the direction in a flash, careful not to go in completely blind, he would take at least a second to analyze the situation; that would be all he needed. There were two of them, and their target was one of Kirigakure’s Jounin. He had fought with the man before, he was a talented shinobi, and would definitely be a win for Seven Bells if they terminated him. The two assassins were both dressed in black with purple masks and bandanas. One of the shinobi vanished from the visible spectrum, he knew this was bad for the Jounin, he had no sensory jutsu that could combat such a stealth maneuver and man wasn’t using chakra. The invisible assassin was going for a kill maneuver with one of the swords that were strapped to his back. There was no more time to think…

Kali (Kiri Jounin) couldn’t see it but from Kenji’s vantage point, he could see the movement of the grass caused obviously by footsteps. The assassin had leaped softly behind Kali. The one who was still visible caught a glimpse of Kenji from his peripheral, and tried to make it seem as if he didn’t notice Kenji, but he knew he did. His explosive lunge left a dent in the roof of the building he was standing on. He sprang down in a diagonal line with his Hane drawn. His proved to be too great for the assassin this time (SS rank speed, and the assassins have A rank reflexes, and S rank speed). His right foot collided with the grassy plain first, in one motion he extended his katana, clashing it with the invisible one of the assassins. As the two shinobi struggled for momentum, the enemy’s figure was once again visible. Kali took off for the other. He released a storm of shuriken and kunai, as they closed in he released a wallop of wind increasing their speed and cutting ability. Kenji couldn’t afford to avert his attention from his opponent at hand. Both ninja only used one hand as their katanas struggled against each other. In a blink of an eye the assassin reached back with his free hand and drew his other katana. It came swinging down for Kenji’s neck with fervor. Kenji responded by surging lightning chakra through the blade of his katana that was currently locked in a pushing match. The lightning swam up his opponent’s blade into his hands at the speed of conduction. As the electricity rattled his being his attack was stopped, and his katana slipped through his fingers. The entire point of Kenji attack was just this, to create the tiniest of openings and finish him… it was perfect. The blue hair shinobi brought the katana clean across the man’s torso, ripping through flesh and bones.

Meanwhile, Kali’s massive elemental and projectile combination attack had been met with a unique taijutsu maneuver that released a slew of flaming pillars from the enemy’s fist. The heated fiery fists extended far from his body, and were about twice his size. The response easily thwarted Kali’s attack due to the elemental advantage the opponent had in that particular exchange. In the chaos caused by the two rather large scaled attacks, the lone assassin darted towards Kali. The smoke and the speed of shinobi allowed him to get his blade in to Kali's rib cage. Kali was able to react just enough to avoid a fatal blow. Kali leaped away holding his stomach together. Kenji could barely see what was transpiring either as the smoke enveloped him as well. He could however, sense the man preparing another jutsu. He could sense chakra flowing through his skin in preparation for another powerful Taijutsu.

Now that Kenji had a read on his opponent's position he quickly drew his long bow and sent two arrows right for the man's chakra signature that Kenji could "see" like a flare in the night. The arrows whizzed through the smoke. He couldn't tell if they connected, all he knew was that the assassin was no longer gathering chakra. A comforting breezed washed over the area clearing the smoke. Then out of nowhere another shinobi in a similar outfit had his foot inches asway from Kenji's nose. He lifted his chin ever so gently, futily attempting to avoid the kick. The foot collided with Kenji's ANBU mask and pushed his chin sideways with enough force to make his body follow. It rocked him, but he was still standing. He then responded by sending a short straight right fist at the man's face, he easily slapped it away. Kenji used the momentum to go into a spinning kick to the mid section. The assassin dressed in all black with skill jumped over the kick effortlessly. Kenji had a read on his position so he was able to meet the man's attempt at slashing at him with his katana with his own katana, he exited the clash quickly. "He knew my ability, he must've been watching this entire time..."

This wasn't looking good, the man was quick and skilled, and worst of all, smart. Kenji hated using his Genjutsu. He would rather defeat his opponent's using his speed and hand to hand combat mixed with his skill with weaponry. He reserved such arts of his like Genjutsu and Senjutsu for those who were truly worthy, not scum like this. Kenji drew his kunai and began flowing lightning chakra through it. The high frequecny screeching chakra invaded his opponent's chakra system. He saw the effects of the illusion immediately as the shinobi began to cringe at the searing pain violating his ear drums. Kenji knew that his opponent still had a chance at enduring the pain enough to survive, so Kenji decided to play around for a bit guaranteening success.

He flingling a few projectile at the man from range, forcing him on the defensive as the effects of the Genjutsu gradually worsened. Kenji could see the man's physical waning. It was only a matter of time before he could go in for the kill. He moved in closer, the man could barely react to Kenji's movement from range, he could see his eyes trailing and struggling to focus on Kenji's moves (S rank speed). With that, he felt no more need to diddle around, he drew his Hane and darted to the man's left and the charged him at ferocious speed (SS rank). When he reach 3 meters was when the man finally focused on him, by that time Kenji was going into a crouch and cleaving the man's legs, sending him to ground. The man quickly faded due to shock and the immense quantity of blood loss.

Kenji began to breathe a bit heavy as he had chopped down two assassins and pierced the other with his arrow. He ran over to Kali to check on him. He picked the man up and reached the nearest medical facility where many people were being treated. A medical nin addressed him immediately. Just as he was taken care of a rumbling emitted a few kilometers back. "There's another one!?" Kenji knew the sound was that of yet another Seven Bells associate. He couldn't leave the enemy back there, that would be rude, so he made his way back.

He came to a sliding stop as he faced hopefully the final all black attire Seven bells assassin. Kenji couldn't care less about the shinobi at this point considering the giant elephant he was standing on top of. The elephant was at least 15 meters tall. With a single step, a shockwave rippled along the grassy surface knocking Kenji right off his feet. There was only one way Kenji was going to stop something of this size. He reserved the jutsu for the toughest of combatants, but something this big, and this large, the only way he was going to get close was to use that Jutsu.

Kenji quickly weaved the necessary hand seals and chanted "Interwoven Cloth Wrap Technique!" Kenji's illusory body turned into a cloth like substance and expanded to wrap all around the elephant and its master. Kenji put all his strength in effort into mutiliating the elephant, with a few vicious swings, the elephant was no more, it was de summoned.

For some reason Kenji's hold on his Genjutsu snapped, maybe his opponent was able to accomplish a kai during Kenji extermination of the beast. The man was now on a nearby rooftop, but Kenji wasn't going to give him much time to breathe. Within a few seconds, his skin became like the sky and his hair grew long and wild like the lion's mane of the wild animals he trained with. A few bizarre marking appeared on his face as well. He pointed the tip of his katana behind him, the hilt facing his target (upward angle). He then released a monstrous stream of wind chakra that cleaned his blade of the blood and propelled him to his opponent's position in a fraction of second. He drew a kunai simultaneously, and once he reached his target, it was simply too late for him to do anything as he slit the man's throat with the kunai while moving at 90 m/s. The assassin fell forward onto him, with a single step over the assassin fell from the rooftop. Kenji in full ANBU gear stood motionless for a few moments and dropped to one knee. He was trying his darnest to keep his focus just in case another appeared. For now at least, his job was done.
