D-rank
Haruna woke to the dawn, the orange and ink light of sunrise filling her vision. She had a mission today - a C-rank at that - and she had to prepare. Still she wasn't needed for another hour or two; so she would try and enjoy her morning a bit. She quickly showered and dressed - wearing her standard mission clothes - before sitting down to a hearty breakfast. She ate slowly, savouring her enjoyment of the food before she'd have to spend the day guarding some stupid weapons store for barely enough money to buy a few kunai. After she'd finished her breakfast she checked that she had the right address for the store and set off. She slipped into an alley to henge into a decidedly average young man, perhaps around her age and of a similar height with a less athletic build. Her new appearance wore the simple outfit of a retail assistant, and she even had a nametag. She'd been told that the owner would recognise her based on the nametag, so she made sure that she'd transformed to have the correct nametag.

She then walked at street level like an ordinary civilian - quite a step down from her usual rooftop conveyance - and proceeded to the store. It was a large, modern building that obviously housed a very profitable business. Even at this early hour people were here in large numbers browsing the single story of the three story building open to the public. The second story contained a number of workshops where custom jobs and certain mainstays were manufactured - things like kunai and shuriken - though most full sized weapons were not made by the store but instead bought from various craftsmen and bulk suppliers.

The clientele was about a fifty-fifty mix of civilians and shinobi; though she obviously couldn't account for any shinobi who weren't wearing their headbands. She proceeded inside the store and walked into the employee only backroom, where she spotted the owner going over some kind of financial documents. He looked up at her, his face sporting a confused look before he saw the nametag.

"You must be the ninja they assigned to the mission... I assume that's not your real face?"

"I do tend to sport considerably less facial hair and male genetalia when I'm not disguised as a shop assistant." Haruna replied, her voice deeper than normal - though not by as great an extent as one might imagine.

"Oh? I imagine that must be rather odd. In any case; I simply want you to pretend to be one of my many assitant shopkeepers and keep an eye out for thieves. One I close up the shop for the night, you'll be free to return to your usual form and will stand watch over the store will I sleep."

Nodding her head in acknowledgement Haruna walked back out into the public portion of the store and began to play her part as a mere assistant. On further thought, most of the jobs these assistants did were more dignified than the D-rank missions she usually got. As she helped various people with various things - a highlight was helping the parents of academy students buy brand spanking new kunai and shuriken for prices that would break the budget of many a genin - and kept an eye out for any would-be thieves. Thankfully it seemed no one was going to be so suicidal as to try and rob a weapons shop in a ninja village during opening hours - however they were probably going to scope the place out during opening hours, and Haruna carefully watched about half a dozen suspicious characters who seemed to be checking out the security arrangements.

The night passed without incident and thus the owner locked up the store and the rest of the staff left. Haruna  took up a guard post in a shadowy corner, out of site for anyone inside. She stayed awake and alert all night, but once dawn broke and the owner came back she headed up to his residence on the third floor and slept for a few hours on his worn couch. She awoke just before she'd have to go to 'work' as it were, and quickly freshened herself up before heading downstairs. The day passed without incident like the last one, but three of the six suspicious persons had returned and continued to do suspicious things. She suspected that she had identified at least some of the thieves, and when night came she once more took up a guard post hidden by the deep shadows.

They broke in around one in the morning. They didn't bother with stealth - they simply kicked the door down and rushed to the still stocked aisle of weapons. Haruna dropped her henge and began to sneak up on one of the thieves who had gone to check out the cash register - obviously it was empty, but these thieves did not seem very smart. She kept low and quiet; her footsteps sounding like the soft patter of rain on grass. Haruna then proceeded to smash the thieves head against the counter hard enough to knock him out cold. A thin stream of blood flowed from the thief's broken nose, but he was still alive. Concussed and possibly brain damaged, but alive.

Haruna heard on the other two thieves shout some very rude expletives that would've mildly awed a grandmother before she heard the sound of people running towards her. She dropped her henge and settled into a fighting stance - she really was going to have to buy a real sword one of these days - and stood right out in the open. She did however make some more discrete preparations for battle with a few quick hand seals and a small crackle of electricity between her fingers.

Those preparations paid off as a kunai came sailing at her; though it was not expertly thrown to say the least.

"Lightning Release: Shock Bullets!"

She pointed her index and middle finger outwards as a 'bullet' of electricity flew out of her hand and collided with the kunai, saving her from the probably not deadly attack. The two men came running out of the darkness with weapons in hand - one another kunai and the other a cheap katana - and raised. Haruna felt a grin forming on her face as she felt the thrill of battle once more. She quickly ran at the two men as she formed the handseals for her most powerful jutsu. Admittedly it was a C-rank jutsu and it was not particularly impressive, but it would be more than enough for these louts.

Under a second later and she was within range, so she executed the jutsu.

"Wind Release: Slash!" Shouted Haruna as the blades of wind formed around her arm and she expertly aimed them. They merged and then rushed at their target, the man wielding the katana. The blades of wind could have cut a deep slash across his chest or sliced open his throat, but that was not what she wished today. She had aimed at his fingers. The wind jutsu cut the all of the finger but the thumb from the thieve's left in a shower of blood and severed digits. Loss of fingers was still non-lethal - as long as he didn't bleed out or anything.

The one with the kunai threw it at her, but she deflected it with another bullet of lightning. She then shot the remaining bullets into his face in a barrage of mildly harmful attacks. The fact that she hit the thief in the eyes was probably a larger part of his screams of pain than the power of her attack, and he crumpled the floor clutching his eyes. She kicked him in the head and made sure he was knocked out before grabbing the concussed one and tying  them both up with some rope she'd found around the store. She then ripped a few some cloth from the digit deprived thief and pressed down with them on his wounds, binding them around his new stumps. She tied him up too, making sure that he'd be unable to escape. She then went upstairs to get the owner and told him to watch over the other two before taking the injured one to the hospital. She slipped on her headband and dropped him off after explaining the situation to the nurse - she was used to this kind of thing - and heading back to the store to pick up the other two.

She said goodbye to the owner and handed the two thieves in at the mission building, informing them of the thief currently recuperating in hospital and leaving. She'd go collect her payment first - she needed sleep more than ryo right now.
