Gen had to admit that he didn't like having to share his body, let alone with a psychopath with clear anger management issues, but even with that being said there were benefits to their relationship. Every so often, there were things that he needed to do that he would have normally balked at but that he could give Set to do without worry. All he had to do was close his eyes and pretend that his body wasn't doing it and it would be done without him having to worry about it. Many people might claim that he was still being evil since being impassive around evil was just a sign of sloth and a lack of diligence, but he knew that Set's fury at the world was going to get out one way or another, and if he gave him something that was actually constructive to do with that anger then it would actually achieve something other than random psychological scarring of other people and needless destruction. Thus, when he heard about this mission, he got the feeling that by the end of it he was going to have to let set out of his cage. Not that it was a very good cage, more like a prison door without a lock, and with the person inside patiently waiting to come out and shank you in the ribs.

The issue today was a rather strange, but a rather contentious one. See, for centuries now people had been able to construct animals out of their chakra, although they were mainly in the forms of things like giant titans and big sharks and things that people care more about avoiding than looking at in any real detail. It was because of this fact that people didn't notice the huge, massively flawed mistakes that there were with the forms. Things like bizarrely bulging eyes, skin coloration that shouldn't be possible on that sort of animal, and even in a few case, arms and legs that shouldn't belong on a body like that. It was like a giant game of mix-and-match that people didn't win enough for it to be worth it. However, when that got pointed out to a specific sage from the lowlands around Iwagakure, he decided to try and make a non-offensive pet out of chakra that people would be able to love. People wanted to have something cute and cuddly, but he wanted to make sure that they didn't end up as a plague for the world, so he created the creature known as Kwamen.

They were bizarre little creatures, with the language capability of a specifically intelligent toddler, and with the same frequency of death as a badly written book villain. Despite the best efforts of people, they ended up dying in the most ridiculous ways. People would literally come home and find that simply by staring at running water their pet had drowned. Thus, people began to get rid of them rapidly, not wanting to have to worry about potential death hazards every minute of the day. This led to there being giant deaths throughout the world as they couldn't properly adapt to a life without a chakra source nearby. However, since they were artificially made they adapted quickly to their circumstances, and began to survive in the streets. The problem with this was that there was a lot more cruelty that they were suddenly subjected to, so whist some managed to retain the cute childlike innocence that they had once been known for, many were now cruel and selfish, and even attacked humans to try and get their food. Thankfully, their teeth was about as sharp as tweezers, how they were even able to chew their food was a minor miracle.

It was one of these herds that Gen was being hired to exterminate today. Set seemed to be enjoying the concept, not just because of the fact that he was getting paid to kill people, but because he was actually able to do a fun job. Since they had arrived within the city, they had been doing little more than child's play, things like teaching kids how to use their already taught abilities for better use. Thus, when he was actually being given a chance to do something that might involve violence, he had almost skipped inside Gen's mind. This was going to be fun, he thought as they continued moving through town, the herd apparently having taken up residence in the alleyway near a food stall. It made sense why they would go there, they could take the food that people threw out as their food source, but it was apparently a nuisance for the owner. He didn't know how they were dangerous, but he wasn't going to deal with it. Unfortunately, Horus didn't fit within the confines of the alleyway that they were within, so he was going to have to wait outside. Putting down outside the alleyway, Set slipped off Horus' back, and began walking into the alleyway.

It was a disgusting sight, they were literally living in their own shit. He almost had to hold his nose because of how bad the alleyway smelled. He hadn't understood why the owner was so hostile to these guys, but now he could. He couldn't think of a single person who would be able to eat after something like this. Except for maybe Horus.... but then again, he had a pretty shitty sense of smell. He probably gave it up in exchange for his ability to see so well. But, walking further into the alleyway, they appeared to notice him. Some were calling out "nu daddy!" or some shit like that. Oh yeah, he'd forgotten how they were obsessed with "family", that was probably the most annoying part of these little shit-rats. The largest of the group, however, walked towards him with clear malicious intent.

"Dummy hooman leave or get biggest owies." Biggest owies.... that meant death, right? Oh good, they were going to be making this hard before he even had to do anything. Bending over and picking him up by the scruff of his neck, he hoisted the "smarty friend" as they called their leaders, into the air before.... tossing him over backwards, where Horus opened his mouth and swallowed happily. He ate it whole... that was pretty awesome!

Moving through the alleyway, using his natural speed to outrace them, he picked them up one at a time, before tossing them across the alleyway, where Horus picked them up in his beak and swallowed them. Good, he could probably do with some more food, he hadn't had a chance to feed him recently, he had looked a little bit starved until this mission had started. This meant that what he was doing was good, great! he wasn't going to get nagged at by Gen. It was like this mission was perfect for them, he thought as he walked to the end of the alleyway. Unfortunately for those idiots, this place was sealed in one way. That meant that they were unable to get away from him by running away from him, and his reactions were good enough that he could catch them if they tried it. Hell, even if they got past him by some miracle, they'd get within range of Horus' beak before he ate them. There was no way out of this... Then he noticed something. He had, until this moment, thought that the larger of the two that was left, a strange pink mare with shitty brown hair, was just fat. It would make sense with the others that he'd seen today, they were all pretty chubby for ferals, but then something came out of her back end. It looked like water... he'd say she pissed herself, but it was not yellow. Oh... oh dear, Set thought as he could hear Gen's dawning realization. She was pregnant... she was giving birth, more accurately. The one that had stayed with her seemed to be the father, although he personally got around a moment of happiness before being tossed over to Horus, who now seemed to be full. He managed to eat this last one, but a wing went down and rubbed his belly.

"Thanks, Set!" He called down the alleyway, getting a few looks of surprise from the people that had been coming around. So, they were fine with artificially created animals, but not with a speaking one? That just seemed stupid, but now he was going to have to focus more on this mare. She was giving birth... could he kill her before she did so? Well, he didn't have anything to kill her with, apart from his own hands and she was kind of filthy. If he killed her, he was going to have to put up with the smell of shit all day, that was just going to be one big nuisance, plus Gen might complain to him about how careless he had been. ... Oh damn it, he thought as he could feel his presence being pushed back, Gen taking over once more. He was always so damned touchy when it came to mothers, maybe it was because of his bond with his. That being said, since he was awake when they'd disposed of the father, he apparently had no qualms about killing fathers. Or maybe he did but he didn't care enough for these guys. they weren't even really alive, they were only as alive as a summoned beast was, and that was... well, controversial at best.

During this internal conversation, she had apparently given birth to her kids. There were three of them, one had the ugliest colors of any animal that he had ever seen, brown fur with moss-green mane and tail that made it look like a turd that moss had grown on. the other two were much more pleasant on the eyes, one with pink fur and red mane/ tail, and the other with black fur and white mane / tail. Oh... wait, there was a fourth one, it was all pink. That was... pretty bizarre. These things were supposed to be extremely fluffy, but even this was a surprise to him, it was almost like it was buried in a landslide of fluff, literally coming over it's head almost to the extent that it was finding it difficult to breathe. Why this one was being pulled out like that, he didn't know. The mother, now able to move properly without the weight of her children inside, came over and looked at it with quiet rage. then, she spoke the words any intelligent person who understood these things feared.

"Dummy babeh..." Wait... oh shit, that meant she was going to kill it, right? Something about not wanting to waste her limited supply of milk on something that was going to die anyway.  Well, he had already killed the entire herd, he shouldn't have to worry about part of the herd killing itself, right? That was not something that should concern him, but... well, he disliked seeing mothers attack their children like this, maybe it came from the way his own father abused him when he was a child. Sighing, he slipped the squirming thing into his coat's pocket, knowing that there it would be warm enough to not freeze to death before he could work out what to do here. He knew that if Set was still in control, the thing would be dead already, but if he let Set kill everything that he wanted to kill, then everyone would probably be dead by now. Still, the mare looked annoyed that it was not being able to take care of business, but before she could complain about that little "slight", she looked down at her foals and realized that there were more important things right now.

That...was a problem, he thought as he slipped his coat off, pulling it under them before tying it into almost a bag and carrying it over his shoulder. He took great care to not let it move so they would get crushed, before saying in a tone that was a little annoyed but would have seemed like a monster to the little fluffy morons in his coat. After all, they had seen someone who looked exactly like him rip through it's entire herd, and now it was trapped inside something that belonged to it, it was almost like they were going to be used for some terrible thing. He didn't know what they assumed he'd do, but he could use that against them.

"If you shit in my coat, I will let Set kill you. Understand?" She nodded, or at least he assumed she did with the strange movement of the bag, before he walked over, remounted on the back of Horus and flew off. This was going to be a weird day, now where was the nearest pound? He knew the city had to have one, everywhere had pest problems like this, and not everyone was strong enough to just kill them outright. After all, not everyone could be like Set, some people had to be like Gen, and some people had to be able to deal with things like this. Slipping his hand back into his coat's pocket, he pulled out the foal. He was clearly starving, he didn't know what to do... well, he was sure that there would be a plan for this at the pound, they had to have some way of dealing with situations like this, it was surely pretty common.

It had barely been a few hours since he had come out of the pound, and he was already being sent on his next little pest removal job. It seemed like the criminals in the town weren't the only pests that people were having to deal with - Specifically, there was an entire family of mole rats that seemed to be holing up on the outside of town. Mole rats were kind of what their names suggested, they were overgrown rats (around the size of dogs, actually) who lived underground and only came out to hunt for food. Normally they were absolutely harmless due to their relative weakness compared to a human, but there was always an exception to something being harmless. The exception that was in place for the mole rats was that, when they got into large groups, they were suddenly able to do some serious damage. Not enough to kill someone trained in the ninja arts, or really to kill someone who was not trained in the ninja arts due to their poor offensive skills, but what they were good at was attacking other people. They didn't do serious damage, they just scared people and were able to do enough damage that people would rather run away then have to deal with their attacks any more.

They were quite literally the main problem that people had to deal with when it came to desert dwellers, and it was why people tried to keep them separate. Thankfully, mole rats were almost infertile due to their poor living conditions, so they only ever really gave birth to one or two children each year, which was really tiny compared to their smaller mice cousins. If they had been able to give birth as many times as normal mice and rats, then they would have become a serious problem. Though, in a way, they were enough of a problem to warrant an exterminator so perhaps they should not be taken too lightly. Taking things lightly was, after all, the easiest way to get yourself and those you cared about killed. Something that people tended to overlook, unless you took life seriously at all it's points you were never going to come out alive... not that anyone did. Life had a 100% mortality rate, and that was something that would never change.

Having been flying on Horus since they dropped the dam and her foals off at the pound, Gen was still flying across the expanse of the badlands when he began working on the mission. Though he normally preferred to take his place high in the sky where others had a hard time managing to bother him, he was having to stay low this time. If he didn't, he would have probably ended up missing the obvious signs for where the pests were dwelling out here and if he was to miss them... well, then he would find it almost impossible to work out where they were. that was the problem with things that lived underground, most people had a hard time finding them unless they popped up like a whack-a-mole. that was probably why they invented that arcade game, since it showed challenge that most people had to deal with tracking, timing and luck.

Eventually, they found the den... warren... habitat that the mole rats had been living in. To be fair, it had not been as hard as he had expected, there was a "small" pile of fecal matter literally right outside their hole, they apparently knew enough about hygiene not to do it where they lived, but not enough to keep it further away from their home. this was just going to lure in predators, like Horus. He thanked the heavens for his friend's sharp sense of sight and smell, before dismounting and walking towards the hole. the hole itself was almost the size of a dog, he could crawl in if he tried, but there was the chance that he could get stuck and he didn't want to do that. So, instead, he was going to do something a little bit different. Weaving through the handsigns, he summoned a clone. This clone was what was going to deal with their little problem. Crawling forwards on his hands and knees, he moved into the warren, making sure not to bang his head as he did so for fear of breaking the jutsu too early. When he was inside, he could see the entire family of mole rats, or at least he could see the outlines of shapes that he had to assume were molerats, there was very little light in here which made it hard to see. They, however, appeared to have no such problem and instead moved right on to attacking him with little to no provocation. He couldn't move away from them, but what he could do was screw them up.

His hands stuck out, before high pressure water sprayed out of them, corralling them all into the middle of the habitat, as the real Gen watched and acted. Giving the nod to horus, Horus moved his body so that he was above the place they were targeting... before moving down so fast that he began to spin into a drill formation. There were too many of them to kill all at once with a simple technique at their level, but that was assuming that they didn't use the environment to their advantage. Slamming into the ground, Horus exerted a great amount of pressure onto the roof of their home. The burrow might have once been relatively secure, but with this new force upon it, it couldn't sustain the weight. The roof began falling down, crushing clone and mole rat alike under it as it made a new landscape, a landscape that none would fail to find appealing... apart from those who could see the crushed corpses under the stones. That... was pretty gross. Well, Gen said a little dispassionately, the lord giveth and the lord taketh away.
