S-rank
Pet Guidelines

Here, you may buy pets to accompany your character, either for fighting purposes or just as companions to take along with you on missions. They can be a great help since they act as an ally in fights, independent from your character but still controlled by you. Pets also have chakra supplies and jutsu of their own. The rank and chakra supply of a pet is determined by its size, combat abilities, and overall usefulness. The potential of each rank is as follows:

  • E-Rank Combat Pet: These pets honestly can't do all that much. They tend to be very small, such as birds or puppies, and at most, they can scratch and bite. Bringing them into battle is usually more dangerous for them than your opponent, as they are frail. They cannot learn jutsu and they do not have usable chakra.

  • D-Rank Combat Pet: D-Rank pets still cannot learn jutsu and they don't have usable chakra, but they are stronger and larger than E-Rank pets. Their capabilities in battle are improved as well; they can run at fast speeds, bite deeper, scratch more severely, and hit harder, making them more useful in fights as they can protect themselves and help deal damage.

  • C-Rank Pet: These pets have mastered the basics of jutsu and chakra. They are slightly more efficient than D-Rank pets in terms of strength and speed, and their intellect is enhanced, granting them with the ability to work their way out of tough situations without the aid of their owner. They can be completely self-sufficient, and can deal decent damage to their foes. At this rank, the pet can have one jutsu of up to C-Rank and it has a chakra supply of 30.

  • B-Rank Pet: Now a valuable asset in a fight, B-Rank pets can act in a fashion similar to a human squadmate, effectively working to both provide heavy offense and defense in battle. They have learned to respond to any commands given to them, and have a better understanding of chakra and how it works. They can have up to two jutsu of B-Rank and lower and they have a chakra supply of 40.

  • A-Rank Pet: These pets have been trained into killing machines, capable of killing their opponents single-handedly, if the opponent is caught off guard. They move at lightning fast speeds equivalent to that of a human Jounin, and they also have the strength of one. These can be extremely large, such as grizzly bears, lions and tigers. When following a good strategy and accompanied by a strong owner, these are certainly animals to be feared. Facing one will guarantee a difficult battle ahead. They can have up to three jutsu of A-Rank and lower and they have a chakra supply of 50.

  • S-Rank Pet: Transcending the average human, S-Ranked pets can be lethal with little to no effort. They have the speed and strength of Sannin, and they can use jutsu and chakra just as expertly as, if not better than humans can. Most S-Ranked pets are legendary creatures, such as dragons or phoenixes. They can only be won as an event prize, and cannot be purchased normally or trained from an A-Ranked pet. They may have one S-Ranked jutsu and three additional jutsu of A-Rank or lower and they have a chakra supply of 75.

Non-Combat Pets are only used for roleplay value, such as a family dog or a cute pet lizard. They have no rank and cannot be trained into combat pets or be used in battle whatsoever.

Price ranges for buying pets of each rank are:

  • Non-Combat Pet: 25 - 50 Ryo
  • E-Rank Pet: 50 - 100 Ryo
  • D-Rank Pet: 200 - 500 Ryo
  • C-Rank Pet: 600 - 1,000 Ryo
  • B-Rank Pet: 1,500 - 3,000 Ryo
  • A-Rank Pet: 3,500 - 6,000 Ryo

Finally, you may train a combat pet of any rank in a roleplay thread in order to increase its rank, both strengthening it and giving it the ability to learn jutsu or gain more jutsu. Training requirements are:

  • E-Rank to D-Rank: 250 Ryo, 750 word training thread
  • D-Rank to C-Rank: 500 Ryo, 1,250 word training thread
  • C-Rank to B-Rank: 1,500 ryo, 2,000 word training thread
  • B-Rank to A-Rank: 2,500 ryo, 3,000 word training thread

And one last thing; each character may only have one combat pet, but they may have as many non-combat pets as they wish. Pets they own must be of their own rank and lower; Genin cannot have A-Ranked pets and such. Pets are applied for using the template below in the Pet section of the items forum. If they wish to get rid of a pet for a different one instead of training it, they may sell the pet in the resale sub-forum for a refund of 50% of its original value (50% refund of the latest training cost, if it has been trained). Once sold, a pet cannot be re-purchased, and the same pet may not be applied for again.
