Training:

Orino walked through the town square of Kumogakure, its local populace imulated worker bee. Each drone going mindlessly to their job, or house. They went about their daily life as usual, no break in their operations except the haggles of local venders. 'Best Food In the Village' on sign would say, the carts owner would echo the slogan to passerby's. Another sign would read 'Affordable and Delicious Ramen' in big red letters, this one was preparing a bowl for one of his customers. That was the daily hub-bub of the market square for you.

Walking by the various venders clutching a cigarette in between his index and pointer finger, Orino couldn't help but think how non shinobi behaved. They had virtually no  danger to their work, the worst that could happen to a vender was being burned by a noodle. Orino smirked to himself as he took another drag of his cig. Passing a local Shop he decided to resupply on smokes, he was running low as it was, the last one was between his lips. This wasn't his usual place to buy, he had not been here ever. Orino usually bought his packs at a small mom-and-pop shop near the family compound. But, it had nicotine so it really didn't bother him.

Walking up to the counter he inspected their wares, a couple original brands mixed in with knock offs; a couple cigars here and there. Placing the cig in his mouth, Orino reached in his kimono pocket for some ryo; a small pouch would reappear in front of the cashier. He took out two ryo and put it on the counter, "Gimme a pack of those, please" Orino said motioning with his head while putting his ryo back."A kid your age shouldn't be smoking, its unhealthy", the man said casually as he hesitantly reached for Orino's purchase. Orino really wanted to tell him how he should mind his own fucking business, but he digressed."So i've been told", was his only reply.

Grabbing the pack he stuffed it into his inner kimono pocket and continued on his journey to the arena, he had important things to do today. He has spent a good portion of yesterday coming up with a jutsu, it involved splitting himself up on a molecular level, a grand feat in itself. It would let him withstand the most powerful Bukijutsu or Taijutsu technique and come out unscathed. Literally letting him phase through the blow. It was sweet in theory, all he had to do was make it a reality, which was what the training ground would be for.

The Arbiters ground, a tomb and training ground built into one. Some of the most prestigious ninja that Kumogakure ever produced resided under his feet as he walked onto the grounds. But, they were dead; no use idolizing corpses. The arena was populated, but not packed. A few ninja he recognized from the academy trained in one place or another, mostly weapons training. Orino had to have no distractions when learning the new jutsu. The possibility of the jutsu backfiring and ripping him into molecular sized dust was fairly high if he wasn't concentrated. Orino began his meditation and stretches.

His meditations were simple, sit on the ground silently and take deep breaths, visualize the world around you and let it fall away. Orino did as he usually did, his legs were crossed and he sat indian style. His arms were resting on his thighs. The various noise of the arena willed his ears. Jutsu going off, the clink and clank of weapons being thrown and clashed, the heavy breathing of opponents; all sound was getting duller. Until his mind was silent, nestled in his own black paradise that resided behind his closed eye lids. The only sound was the rise and fall of his chest and the exhaling and inhaling of it, he was formulating how to go about practicing the jutsu.

After a few minutes meditating, he understood what he had to do. The young Gaiso clan member picked himself up and dusted his hakama off. The time for dilly-dallying was over, it was now or never. But, training the jutsu unprepared was foolish, his plan would hopefully minimize the danger it posed. He would begin by easing himself into the transition. He would learn the actual jutsu first, then try it out on a simple block of wood that was used by the swordsman. Finally, he would graduate and try to phase through the dull practice swords that lined the shelves at the entrance to the arena.

Stopping at a rather barren area of the arena, Orino began weaving the hand seals. Each one felt like it could be the last one he makes, but hesitation gets one killed, as does fear. Both of those weak emotions were pushed out of his head. "Kemuri: Ningen san'itsu", the words slipped softly from his lips, it wasn't that the words were not confident, only that he did not want them to be heard. As he kept the hand sign, he began to feel a small change. The every day feeling you get, the one that tethered you to corpreal form. The feeling of his skin, the silk of his cloths, even the beating of his own heart felt....different. It wasn't that they weren't there, he could still feel them, it was as if they were getting smaller and smaller.Orino let go of his hand seals. This was the start of the jutsu, it was a very sobering event. Feeling that you were nothing but smoke felt foreign to him, it sent a shiver down his very being. But he couldn't up and drop his training, so he pushed on. Each attempt started the same as the last, breathing, hand seals, jutsu. Each attempt brought him closer to his new ethereal form. He was beginning  to get tired, but the progress was astounding. On the last try his hands began to pull apart and turn to the dark grey smoke. It was odd, he could still "feel" himself holding the handseal, but he knew his hands were not there. It all hurt his brain, he needed to take a rest.

After a fourty-five minute or so break and a couple gulps of the water fountain, he was ready for the fruits of his labor, perfecting the technique. This time, he felt confident and decided to add a small twist to the training. He picked up one of the dull training swords at the rack. It was nothing special, a steel training sword dulled with a sander. The only way this would cut is if you put actual force behind your blow, or momentum. Taking the black grip of the sword he positioned it blade down at his feet. When he was ready he took a deep breath and let it loose into the sky, its blade turning end over end skyward. He reacted as soon as he let go of the sword, weaving the hand seals fast, but not sloppily. By the time the sword was on its return trip, Orino had finished the seals, beginning his transformation into the grey swirling substance.

The sword descended onto Orino an landed with a clatter as it sliced through the body that was without substance. Orino was unharmed, his body reduced to a semblance of a shape of a person, more of only and outline of one; held together in a loose swirling mass. His green eyes were gone, replaced by slight depressions in the smoke, barely told apart from the rest of himself. The sword cut felt as if someone had traced their finger down his being and back up, his body reforming on itself as the weapon passed through himself. His jutsu was a success. Orino gave his ghostly fingers an audible snap, his body began reforming, the smoke that comprised his being slid back into shape. The legs formed from the smoke and turned from a swirling smoke back to flesh; the same with the rest of his body, it was a huge pay off. The savory fruits of his labors had payed off. He sit there, in his corporal form with a giant grin on his face.

Sightseeing....it was an interesting thing to do for the Lightning Shadow. She was always cooped up in her office, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.....Frankly, it was not her favorite job in the world. But she did it. She knew she had to. The balance of nations, the inner stability of the ninja Hi no Kuni....that was on her. She didn't like it, but whatever....

So on one of her very few days off, she decided to walk around the Hidden Cloud. She liked being that kind of Raikage, the one that everyone knew and who knew everyone by name. Yes, she pretty much had it all....except maybe for a tad more maturity. She did have to grow up fast, this was the ninja world, and she was chosen for Raikage at such a young age.....but she was still young at heart. Usually informal, maybe even rude. That she couldn't help, but whatever.

The place she was at now....the Arbiter's Ground, a memorial site for the fallen in wars past. Yes, even her parents were buried here.... Am I doing alright? ....Did I make you proud?

A rustle behind her, and she noticed someone....who looked like he had been there for quite awhile. Meditating.....and quite into it, seemingly. "Oh, Orino. What brings you her---oh....?"

She noticed he was....beginning to attack himself. A blade soared into the skies of Kumo, which she knew the result of.....worrying for her student, she approached, only to find him using a jutsu. "Interesting....Must admit, you're developing. Kinda reminds me of...." Sublimating her own body, merging with the ever-present fog-clouds, she reappeared by Orino, hand on his shoulder. "Well, myself."

Wandering around, that's what he'd been doing all day and he had to admit it was quite boring. He had slipped away from the watchful eyes of Binsu, to try and experience a few things before his fate was decided. He figured the ANBU wouldn't mind. He was wearing his normal clothing but his Kunai and Rusty Katana had been confiscated so he had purchased a Superior blade to replace it. This sword was a good two feet altogether, at least the blade was. The hilt itself was eight inches. And he had adjusted the strap on his back to have it resting across his back diagonally. He smiled underneath the sash around his mouth area, as he moved through through the village hidden in the clouds. He had arrived at the Arbiter's Ground, the resting place for those who had died in the war. This was the place that a few of the greatest Ryuzoji had been buried, it was also were some people came to train, to make these heroes proud.

It was here the rogue Ryuzoji had chosen to come, his passive sensory range sensing two people inside. He sighed as he stepped into the arena part, looking over to see the lady Raikage and what appeared one of her student. The ryuzoji silently moved across to sit within shadows near the wall, watching them. His meditation would take over instinctly as he sat there, breathing deeply and controlling his chakra a bit, to move it around his body, following the pathways.  He smiled, watching the two quietly.

Orino was now whole, the swirling smoke that comprised his being earlier had realigned with his body and faded to his olive skin color. It felt good, a sense of satisfaction washed over the young Gaiso clansmen. A jutsu he had been dreaming up for the past month had now taken form and was at his disposal. Opening his now solid eye he heard a voice, soft, yet familiar; definitely feminine. "Interesting....Must admit, you're developing. Kinda reminds me of....""Well, myself." It was the Raikage, better known as his sensei, Reika. He had only met with her a hand full of times but she seemed alright, a bit too trusting for a kage; but overall a decent person.

Orino felt the weight of her hand on his shoulder as she used her lightning fast reflexes to reach him. He put on his smile that no one but his clan knew was a mask. He whirled around and smiled. "Greetings Raikage sensei, i trust you have seen my new jutsu i had been working on?" He said with a grin. He hated wearing his mask of warm and coziness, but, a mask is always better than his real self.
