It was only a matter of time before the constant complaining from Matsu would land him in a mission that was significantly harder and more rewarding than walking dogs and cleaning up the training area. Though the Hokage didn't seem to trust him much with any work, there was little he could come up with to protest him going on a B-Rank mission if he was give a chaperon of significant rank. Luckily, this significantly ranked person was not exactly hard to come across. Matsu was possibly one of the lowest ranked shinobi in the village. For now at least. Though he had missed the chuunin exams for his own reasons, he had taken the time to learn to do missions in an efficient way. He had more missions completed than many people of higher rank than himself.

Coincidentally, due to this mission count, it wasn't all that implausible that he could be given the rank of Chuunin. It wasn't like he was an incapable fighter on his own and due to his handy-dandy summoning scroll, it'd be extremely easy to overwhelm opposing forces once he became strong enough to summon larger creatures, or at least larger groups of them.

Anyway, his mission today was waiting for him in his mailbox as per usual and as he walked outside into the night to open his mailbox, he'd feel the cold wind of the darkness on his feet. It was refreshing and put a smile on his normally stoic face. Sliding the mailbox open, he'd pull out an envelope, sliding it open and reading it. His eyes would actually open a slight bit. This mission was B-Ranked. This mission would be quite a challenge and he assumed that he'd be escorted on it.

Matsu, you can't complain anymore about the ranks of the missions you're getting. Here's a B-Rank. Don't mess up... Read the boy mentally as he looked through the contents of the assigned mission. An assassination? Whats worse is they prefer that the guy be killed. That sure is lame. Restraining is more my style but I guess I can kill him too. He thought to himself as he folded the mission up. He'd return to the house, walking to his room to get the jacket for his robe. Placing the envelope in his sleeve, he'd grab his scroll, slinging it over his shoulder onto his back.

With little delay, Matsu would move quickly from his home into the darkness, moving from rooftop to rooftop towards the first place he was to look. Apparently the ninja had a chance of showing up in either the bar, or some of the villages on the outskirts of the country. He could be in either location, so he decided the bar was the best place to check first due to its close location. Regardless, he hoped the mission could go well and if anything went wrong, he was sure that whoever was escorting him would be easily able to handle what he himself could not.

By the time Ukiyo exited the Hokage's office, it was nighttime. She was delighted to have been given Chuunin rank however not so much about the mission she was assigned to. Don't they believe in time off? Ukiyo rolled her eyes but couldn't stop smiling. Chuunin. And after that god awful performance at the exams? I guess I should be proud of myself, but- oh, what am I saying? I've worked my ass off to get where I am, I'm sure I deserved something. Ukiyo hummed as she walked down the corridors and made her way to street level. As she left the building, Ukiyo looked up at the night sky in awe. Thousands of stars flickered against a pitch black background, and a tantalizing moon out-shined them all. The air was cool and the wind calm, whispering a light breeze that playfully swayed Ukiyo's hair. She missed this place dearly during the exams: the humidity most. She took a deep breath in, filling her lungs with delicious, moist, cool air, letting it rejuvenate her body like no medication could. She stared up at the sky, smiling wide, and breathed.

Ukiyo began walking into town, figuring she might as well start with the bars since she was in the village already. Ukiyo was told that her mission was to apprehend a Special Jounin-level criminal that was within Konoha's borders. Arrogant, short fused, quick to kill. I'll have fun putting this rabid mutt to rest. Ukiyo grinned, her lips slightly ajar to show off her sharpened teeth. Saliva coated them, and a primal huff slipped through their cracks. Ukiyo was excited, very excited. She knew this was a chance to prove to herself she was worthy of the title Chuunin and would not hold back against such scum. Ukiyo's excitement was turning feral as she thought more and more of her prey. I hope they let me keep the body... Ukiyo giggled through her grin and looked up at the moon again. It was the perfect night for a full moon, and if Ukiyo was home right now she'd be howling at it.

As she walked through one of the slums of the village, Ukiyo heard some absurdly loud shouting coming from a small building up ahead. She jogged up to it, then pushed aside some of the fabric hanging over the entrance and peered inside. Not surprisingly, there stood her target. The man was much larger than she had imagined, standing nearly six and a half feet tall. He smashed a glass mug on the bar counter while screaming obscenities at the bartender. Knocked-over stools and broken glass covered the floor, as well as a couple of unconscious patrons. Ukiyo walked in past the hanging fabric and spoke in a firm tone. "Oy! You with the bark- how about you pay your bill and come with me, we have a lovely holding cell with your name on it." She grinned devilishly as the man turned around. He began bursting out in laughter at the sight of Ukiyo, "And what are you going to do if I don't, girly?! Braid my hair?" He continued laughing, which made Ukiyo all the more excited to teach him a lesson. She made two hand signs, preparing for the imminent fight.

Moving rooftop to rooftop, Matsu came upon the bar which had been quite a bit noisy. It was almost too obvious that the target was inside. Funnily enough, it confused Matsu that the guy had been a ninja at all. Wasn't the goal of a ninja to assassinate by making as little noise as possible. Crouching atop the roof, Matsu would notice a girl about his age walk into the bar.  In the darkness of the night, it took him quite a while to realize that this girl was the very same one that had helped in the mission a few weeks back when the Sarutobi estate burnt down.

It was her great Ninjutsu skill that prevented the fire from getting too far out of hand. He had to assume that this girl was his escort as she was the only familar face here that Matsu could discern was a ninja. Regardless, it took Matsu a second to work up the courage to make his move into the bar. He watched as the shinobi broke a glass over the bar and sighed to himself. There was a bit of banter going back and forth between the girl and the shinobi and Matsu silent began to do a set of seals, placing his back hand on his scroll and his front hand in his mouth. Biting his thumb, he'd finish the seals. A rattling sound would echo throughout the bar, causing a silence to come over the area.

If you're not a shinobi, get out. Things might get ugly. So... Civilians, go ahead and escape while you can. He spoke with a calm tone and as the smoke cleared, a rather large snake sat coiled around Matsu's arm and over his neck.

Matsu! What the actual fuck do you want? You know how I feel about you calling me to settle your issues. The snake would speak to Matsu with a rather self-centered tone as if he didn't care about the situation at all. Truthfully, he didn't. Manderu was not a fan of working and Matsu understood that completely, he just didn't care. Manderu was signed to be Matsu's signature summon meaning he'd be calling on his help a lot.

Shut up and turn into a whip already, there's no time for this! Matsu would yell back, shaking his arm in an attempt to force the serpent to transform. Dammit Manderu! Why are you so difficult! Can't you just work with me to kick some ass for once instead of ganging up on me with the enemies! He'd laugh a bit, using his free hand to form hand seals. As he finished them, he'd gather up his chakra. Ya know, if she did braid your hair, it'd only be so I can rip them out of your head and beat you with them! His cocky demeanor would show a bit as it typically did when fights broke out. But hey, he was having fun in a fight for once.

As the two of them stared the other down, a young man entered the bar besides Ukiyo. She recognized him as the redhead who had helped put out the fire from earlier. So I guess he's the one they sent to back me up. If you're not a shinobi, get out. Things might get ugly. So... Civilians, go ahead and escape while you can. The boy said. Ukiyo had completely forgotten to clear the bar of civilians; it didn't cross her mind for a second that they might get hurt. I should feel bad about it...but for some reason I don't. I couldn't care less. All I want is to see this man put down. Ukiyo's grin curled as she licked her teeth. The boy beside her summoned a large snake over his shoulder, who seemed to hiss in his ear and set him off. Ukiyo made eye contact with the snake and winked. She loved animals, far more so than humans. She didn't care much for the boy's accompaniment, but was happy to see the snake. The young man yelled something obnoxious at the criminal and Ukiyo rolled her eyes. Something tells me he'll be getting in my way. She turned back towards their opponent, But no matter. I'll finish this quickly. The large man before them was still cracking up, amused by the threats of such children. Ukiyo began walking up to him slowly. The man stopped laughing and grinned, a wild look in his eyes.

You wanna play girly?! Well then let's play! The man began running towards Ukiyo in an all-out charge. Ukiyo stopped short and made the serpent hand sign. Suddenly, thorns began emerging all over her body, covering her from head to toe (piercing her clothing in the process, though not shredding it). As the man reached Ukiyo, she swiftly ducked and shot a leg out towards he feet, which he jumped to avoid and flipped over her, grabbing her by the hair in the process. Fast. She made a hand sign with one of her hand signs the moment he layed his hands on her hair, and a chute of bamboo shot out from atop her head, piercing his hand. He landed behind her, grasping his wrist with his uninjured hand. Why you... Ukiyo giggled as the man ground his teeth in resentment. Ukiyo jumped up and span around, catching herself on the bamboo chute as if a top. She spun around it while extending both her legs. The man ducked just in time, Ukiyo's foot grazing his hair. However as he did this, Ukiyo shouted, Release! The bamboo she was balancing on suddenly broke and she dropped her leg down from the spin into an upside-down drop kick. The tip of her foot made contact with the man's head, smashing him into the ground and leaving a 1-inch gash on the top of his scalp. Ukiyo sprang off her feet the moment the touched the ground, performing a front hand spring to put some distance between the two of them. Doesn't matter how strong you are if you can't hit your opponent, eh? Ukiyo smiled again, putting her hand to her mouth and giggling. As she did this, the man started rising to his feet again while performing several hand signs...

Manderu would laugh, shooting some banter at Matsu, Haha... Matsumura are you still not good at getting ladies? Pathetic... His raspy voice would agitate Matsu all the more as he swung the snake around on his arm. Forming a seal on which the snake would gather its chakra.

Black Bladed Whip! They both said at once as the chakra spiraled around Matsu's arm, into the black snake. Matsu watched as the fight broke out between the two, he made sure to wait for all of the customers to walk out before getting himself ready. Manderu tightened his grip and hissed once more before hardening into a bladed whip. Swinging down once, a cracking sound would be followed by the sound of a rattle. The two had been going at it fairly intensely at this point and Matsu would have to wait for an opening before he would have the chance to attack. It only took a moment for the fighting to happen and just as quickly as it had started, the two had taken a break from the combat.

The man was laying on the ground, recovering and beginning to create seals. He could see such from anywhere, after all, hand seals were his specialty. The man would stand up, attempting to finish the seals off. Spinning to gain momentum, Matsu would swing his whip in an elegant way, wrapping the whip around the wrist of the man, separating them and ruining the seals that were only seconds from completion, stunning him for a split second. Within that split second, uncoiling it, Matsu would spin once more gaining momentum to swing the whip and slash the man across the face before continuing his spin to lash and pull the mans ankle. With a split second, Matsu would tighten and blade the whip, slicing the achilles tendon and causing the man to topple to his side.

Walking to the man, Matsu would step roughly on his ankle, causing a sharp pain to shoot through his leg and make him yell out in pain. If you're still looking for your hair to be braided... I think I can work something out.

Ukiyo continued giggling as she watched the man take a beating from Matsu's snake. You're facing two opponents, or did you forget? The man clearly let his guard down to Matsu by focusing so much on Ukiyo, and now he was paying the price. Ukiyo began walking up to the man again, slowly as she did before. She wasn't worried about him in the slightest; he was a hot head who wasn't worth his weight in combat. Ukiyo planned on making short work of him, finishing him off with one final blow to the side of his neck. As she stood before him, Ukiyo looked down on the man, who had crawled onto his knees and was now bent over. Ukiyo kept one hand sign in place, expecting him to pop up with one last burst of energy. This line of work doesn't suit you. She said as she smiled at him. You see, you're here, Ukiuo placed on hand right above his head, as if measuring his height. And we're here, she re-positioned her hand above her own head, several feet higher. She giggled and looked over to Matsu, who seemed to be keeping his distance. Don't worry. He's harmless- As the words left her mouth, Ukiyo felt the man's hand grasp her ankle and lift her into the air as if she weighed nothing. The thorns around her ankle dug into the man's skin, though he didn't seem to notice one bit. DON'T YOU DARE UNDERESTIMATE ME! The man yelled as he whipped Ukiyo down into the floor with the same speed as he picked her up with. The impact would surely fracture her skull from the whiplash, let alone the rest of her body. As she came flying down towards the ground, Ukiyo closed her eyes and covered her back with Mokuton chakra. The moment she made contact with the ground, Ukiyo's body began dissolving into it, melding with the floor as if she was disappearing. By the time the man's hand had reached the floor again, she was gone. What the fuck? As the man stared at the floor dumbfounded, Ukiyo emerged from the ground behind him.  Tsk. Ukiyo made a hand sign and several vines emerged from both her feet and where she was standing before in front of him. The two from her feet wrapped around his ankles and the two in front of him wrapped around his hands. As if someone of your ability had a chance to begin with. The man struggled continuously, though wouldn't break free. Ukiyo turned around to Matsu and smiled, closing her eyes.

I'm Ukiyo by the way.

Something about the way the girl fought was interesting to Matsu. He hadn't seen someone phase through materials like that and would possibly have to learn the mechanics of the jutsu later. For now though, he'd have to focus on the situation at hand. The girl was a damn good fighter and a portion of that was a bit arousing, but that was largely unimportant. Watching as the man had his issues fighting the girl, Matsu would move a bit closer, seeing that the man was just about restrained.

Wrapping the whip around the neck of the man, Matsu would smile, then step back before looking the man in the eyes, saying, Any last words? Ironically, before the man could speak, the whip would sharpen, giving out the sound of a rattle. The man's throat would be severed, causing him to bleed out quickly and have no possible way of speaking. Manderu... Come on man... Gotta give a man his last rites. The whip would form back into a snake before slithering down the man's frontal and dissipating with a grin on its face similar to that of Matsu's.

Sighing to himself, Matsu would walk to the girl, pressing his palms together and bowing once. Glad I finally was able to learn your name. Matsumura Hashikawa. Thank you for escorting me on this mission. He'd hold the bow a bit before straightening himself up. He wanted to ask her out on a date, but that'd be awkward, considering the present situation. All in due time... He thought to himself. Looking over at the body of the man, Matsu would smile, muttering to himself. Huh... and I thought I was a bad ninja. This guy is terrible...
