Zetsume Zix

Zetsume Zix

D-rank
Zetsume had nothing planned on this boring day. Only the ambition to get better was always on his mind.  He had just woken up before  and decided to take a stroll around the village that he loved. It was a little chilly on this day even with how bright the sun was, it did not seem to help with the temperature. The chilly wind seemed to cut through his jacket straight to his bone and his soul. Zetsume zipped up his jacket and tried to walk among the "normal" people. He never really saw himself as one of them nor did he ever think he could live that kind of life. They lived day to day peacefully just simply making bread or kunai. While Zetsume's life was not all that simple. He had to kill those who wished to hurt these people. Zetsume also never really got any recognition for the trails he has done for this village. Though it did not bother him, he liked it better this way. It kept him silent and unnoticeable, a hidden hero. A small smile crept on his face while he was walking past everyone. He was making his way towards the mission board. He needed something to keep his mind off of the world for just one moment. Hoping that the mission board could provide him with that enjoyment. When he walked over there he was highly disappointing in the mission board. Nothing on it even peeked his interest. Even among all of them none of them seemed to hold any real purpose or help.   Zetsume stuffed his hands in his pockets and decided it was time to go home. He really hoped that something would come along, yet during the whole walk home nothing ever showed up. Zetsume walked into his house and decided it was just time to call it a night, even though it was still early. He crawled into bed sleepily and slept earlier than usual, mostly because of boredom. He did not even plan to wake up until the next day. Sure enough he slept the entire day away.

A small knocking noise was heard on his window followed by the small barks of a small puppy. His puppy Repede was frantically barking at a rather large bird that was pecking on his window. Even though the puppy had the heart of a lion, he could not even take this bird. The bird looked like it could easily take his puppy out without a second thought. Then again most pigeons new how to fight for survival, other than that they seemed only useful for giving information. Zetsume got up to see who sent the bird to him, he hoped it was nothing to serious, then again maybe that is just the excitement he needs. There was a small note on it's neck along with five letters that were strapped to its legs. Zetsume unwrapped the note on his neck to read it,

Zetsume Zix, We are short on staff and would like your help on delivering these letters. We need them delivered before noon, for the people who need these letters will be leaving then. Please we need your help, some of our workers have gotten the stomach virus. You are our last hope. Failure to deliver all of these will result in no payment. Here is a list of where to deliver:

Zetsume read all of the places and they seemed to be spread out throughout the village. Zetsume let out a long sigh before grabbing the letters and setting off to deliver them. There was already a stupid time on which he had to deliver them, let alone the ridiculous locations spread throughout the village. He did not like the mission, but it was better than doing nothing. The time frame from which he had to do it was terribly small. Zetsume knew he would have to do something in order to deliver all of them in the time given. He decided he would tie the letters to the arrows and shoot them. It would be much faster than trying to walk to the door to deliver.

Travel from rooftop would also be the quickest while he was trying to deliver these letters. Zetsume started his marathon from there. One by one Zetsume shot the "Arrow Letters" on the doors that they needed to be. Each one made a loud thud, which people soon responded. Zetsume did not ever stick around to see their reaction. Maybe they would think it was a death letter. Zetsume managed to deliver three of them quicker than he expected. Yet the other two were on complete opposite sides of the village. Zetsume made a clone, and gave him one of the letters. This was the only way to deliver all of them. It was not long before he was finished and had to sit down for a small breather. The cold air seemed to freeze his lungs while he was running. Zetsume brushed the snow off of his shoulder to put his bow there and set off to collect his money.

Once he reached the post office there seemed to be no one in sight other than an old feebly man. Zetsume walked quickly towards him to see if this was the one who asked him to help him.

"Uh, Yes. I delivered the letters that you asked me to. It was rather easier than i thought."

The old man smiled before speaking in a raspy voice, "Yes, you are Zetsume Zix right? Thank you for helping me. I only run this place and I am far too old to deliver letters any more. I would probably break a hip."

The old man let out an odd laughter before going back to speaking.

"As for your payment, here you go. Once again thank you so much for your help."

The old man gathered some money to hand to Zetsume which he thanked him for. Zetsume left the place with a smile, knowing that he helped someone who really needed it.
