Midnight

Midnight

D-rank
It seemed Midnight's time here was up. He'd never met the Hokage, but he was fine with that, really. He didn't know if they were a stuffy old boring person or not, so maybe it was a blessing that he hadn't met with him. On the other hand, there was also the chance that he was a very fun individual that could have entertained Midnight for hours. Midnight shook his head to clear his mind. He was set on leaving this place for now. He'd only met with one person and they were truly distasteful, so why should he stay any longer? Besides, he had stayed here for quite some time now and it was likely that his village would be needing him.

Midnight strolled out of the inn he was staying at, leaving the uneaten durian in his room. He figured that the stench would cause people to avoid the place, but that would be a funny thought as well. Sure it might hurt business a bit, but if they actually tried the fruit they would know the error of their ways. He never really got to try any of the native foods in the Fire country, either, but he supposed that he could try them another time. He would certainly come back to this place. Although, he hoped that it wouldn't be to meet that genin again.

Midnight continued his stroll to the village gates and informed the guards that he would be leaving. He was pretty sure that they would throw a fuss about how they would need to tell the Hokage and such, but he wasn't bothered. Instead of waiting for them to do anything Midnight smiled at them and continued out of the village and into the forest. He didn't really expect anyone to intervene with his leaving, but he thought that might have been an interesting thing to do. It was definitely something that was on his checklist of things to do someday.

Midnight continued at a leisurely pace taking in the sights at his discretion. The sky was rather clear, but the clouds in the distance seemed to be condensing and getting closer. The atmosphere was beginning to get humid and any normal traveler probably would have done something to protect themselves from the impeding rain. However, Midnight was no ordinary traveler. A lover of the clouds and in that respect the rain that came with it, Midnight did nothing but feel his tranquility heighten at the thought of rain coming down.

As he made it to the neighboring country of Hot Springs droplets of water began to fall upon his head. He welcomed every drop that met him, soon causing the entirety of his outfit to become drenched. It was really rather embarrassing as his entirely white outfit became nearly transparent. Nevertheless, Midnight continued his journey back home in his now translucent outfit, only amused at what kind of reactions people have have gotten from his appearance.

Before he'd made it all the way through Hot Springs country the rain had stopped and the sky had cleared. The humid atmosphere was exchanged with a dry cold denoting the fact that he was getting closer to Frost country. He had increased the speed of his travel to that of a typical ninja run, as the cold air was beginning to remind him even more of his mountainous home. If he hadn't lived in a colder climate than this place his entire life, the fact that he was just soaked and then placed in a frosty atmosphere might have been detrimental to his health. As this was not the case, he continued his travel unimpeded by the cold.

This point in his journey was rather boring at this point, as there was only snow on the ground to offer him any kind of entertainment. Animal and plant life were becoming quite scare now as the rolling hills leading up to the Lightning Country became ever present. He wondered if there were any new Genin to meet when he had arrived in the village, or if there were any higher ranked shinobi that were promoted while he was gone. It would be such a bore if nothing had changed since he left. He could only hope that there was something fun waiting for him. Making fun for himself might have consequences that his fellow villagers might not exactly appreciate. Though he loves them dearly, his own fun has a higher priority than his reputation among the villagers. It wasn't like they could replace him for anything he did, anyway. He didn't really want to become a tyrannical leader...but maybe that could be fun. Midnight didn't dismiss the thought entirely, but rather decided to consider it at a later date. Maybe it would be more fun for him if he used his village more to do his bidding than to keep everyone happy.
