Hanbei~

Hanbei~

D-rank
The Mission:

It had been a while since Hanbei had managed to raise up and think about what he was going to do for the day, there was enough that needed to be done around here for a genin but ever since he fought fist to fist with a jounin, as well as taking on a mission, and defeating a terrible beast and saving a child who had only just managed to survive the endeavour, going back to work and performing trivial tasks for the village was not something that little Hanbei was looking forward to. Though, this up and coming thing was a job, and he could not deny a job, especially one that his father gave him. Looking at the piece of paper with the job detailed, he read the details carefully. It seemed there was a simply babysitting job going where he needed to watch the child of a ninja family while they went out on a mission of their own together.

Seemed easy enough...

Hanbei rose out of bed and made himself a packed lunch as well as dinner, big enough for the child as well as himself, consisting of fresh rice, fresh sushi, home made dumplings and various other goodies which generally consisted of Hanbei's favourites. There, with the left overs around him, and the lunch packed, he ate what ever was extra as his breakfast, looking to the chiller to see a note written and left by his father.

"To my Dearest Hanbei
Good luck on your coming mission, i know how much this means to you and your quest to achieve your destiny, but take heart, even the simplest task has its hurdles, and surprising difficulties. Tests of wit, charm and determination are not always incarnated by great battles and duels which lay waste to mountainsides and blood soaked glades. Many of those which truly challenge us occur off the battlefield, and it through the heart of the warrior when he is off the battlefield where he can be loved.

A warrior without love, is nothing...

Hanbei put the note down and thought about the words for a while, not quite understanding the meaning of them, but choosing to walk out of the house anyway, the morning was fine, and what little flowers which were out during this summer were in full bloom. People, ninja, and kids went about their daily lives around the village even though the Kage was still currently at the summit. Hanbei made his way across town and to the location of the house he was looking for. Peering in the parents of the kid seemed to be gearing up at their kitchen table. Both Special Jounin, Hanbei waved to them, and they waved back, explaining there was a list of things to do on the chiller before leaving rather suddenly for their mission. Awe struck, Hanbei let himself in, planting his back back on the table and looking around the house. At first glance there was nothing, until he turned to find a young child staring a hole through him no more than a few feet away from him. Hanbei recoiled in surprise, knocking over his back and almost spilling the food if he were not so careful as to have caught it.

Hey, I'm Hanbei, what's your name? Hanbei asked nicely, trying to relate to this kid, but the girl turned away, not making eye contact with hanbei for one reason or another. The child seemed distant.

My parents killed my last babysitter, because they made me cry... Hanbei recoiled in shock as the kid's eyes focused on the poor boy, the child could not only coherently speak, but he had already threatened the boy's life! Hanbei attempted to recover, and shook the feeling off. The rest of the day consisted of worrying threats, as well as promises of horrific torture which put Hanbei on edge, basically becoming the child's own personal slave for an entire day. Pushing her on the swing, on pain of being decapitated and quartered by her parents, as well as play hide and seek, letting her win of course, least she cry and pay the price, and even play with her many, many dolls. Hanbei was whipped, but when it came to lunch, Mia's stomach growled. Hungrily she looked up with a rather sincere sad look.

You dont like that sound do you? Hanbei asked, the girl shook her head, holding her tummy as it continued to growl and rumble on occasion. As Hanbei got out the Bento lunches, the child moved to look over the bench, and see what Hanbei was doing. Including the child hanbei let him cut his own sushi from the large roll as well as decide what foods he wanted. Until finally they had the chance to eat. Happy, the young girl seemed to enjoy the food, wearing a broad smile. There, see, much better now that the growling has gone right? The girl nodded, but fell into looking a little bit embarrassed.

Dont worry, i wont tell anyone you're afraid of the sound, okay? Its just between you, and me, and i will always be here with food, to make it go away, friends? The child nodded, and leapt into Hanbei's lap, cuddling up and eating, before, hanbei sang a few songs softly, letting the young girl nap on his lap for the next few hours. Finally, the girl's parents arrived to a quiet house, their young girl had had her diner and was put down to sleep for the rest of the evening. Talking to the parents Hanbei explained there was no problem, but keeping her secret about her tummy. Her parents seemed surprised to find a baby sitter so close to their daughter, giving him a small pay cheque, Hanbei wandered back home...

He hoped they called back for this job again, or he was gonna miss that girl.
