Strafe could not believe his eyes. He walked slowly across the training grounds, looking at the various landmarks around him. Iwagakure was completely different than Kiri in a lot of ways. He couldn't help but be excited about training in a new place like this. It was definitely going to be a fun experience for the young Genin.

He walked over towards a small area of rocks. The landscape was mostly barren, besides the occasional ninja training random jutsu. Strafe wandered over a spot where he was alone, making sure that no one could see him. "I can't let anyone see me train this jutsu." He said looking around one last time to make sure. He was training the Hidden Mist Jutsu after all.

The Hidden Mist Jutsu had been in Kiri for as long as it has been around. It was a signature jutsu that was kept secret to those in Kirigakure. It was quite an advantage to have in battle, which was the exact reason why Strafe wanted to perfect it before the tournament begins. Doing so would give him a huge advantage over his opponent.

He slowly walked over to the rocks, setting his personal belongings down. He looked around him one last time, which was more than being paranoid. He put his hands together in the tiger symbol, which wasn't required, but made it easier on him to focus. "Water Style: Hidden Mist Jutsu!" He stated, swiftly covering the small area in a fog.

The fog wasn't nearly as thick as it could be, as this was just training. He just wanted to make sure that he knew the jutsu well enough for battle. He couldn't be to careful when it came to a fight with ninja he had never met before. It's not that Strafe wasn't confident in his abilities. He knew he was strong and could hold his own, he just wanted to convince everyone else of it.

With the fog now up, Strafe decide to make sure all of his basic skills were up to par in it. He was used to mist, because of his living in an area covered in it. However, he wanted to make sure that he was just as accurate if he created it. He pulled out a kunai and aimed at the middle of the rock in front of him. It was 10 meters in distance, which should be perfect. He took aim and released it, sending it hurtling through the air. It met the rock with a clang and fell to the floor.

"Just as expected." Strafe said with a grin growing on his face "A bulls eye." He said as he walked over to the kunai and picked it up. He put it back in his pouch, looking around at the fog. He decided to move to the final step of his training. He wanted to see how much he could adjust the mist itself. His hands once again moved to the tiger symbol.

Strafe stood there, focused on the task at hand. The fog around him grew thicker and thicker, making Strafe smile as he forced himself to concentrate, despite wanting to dance in celebration. He then started to decrease the thickness of the fog. Not that he would do that in battle, he just wanted to prove to himself that he could do it. Using his incredible chakra control, he slowly decreased the fog until it disappeared.

Being a medical ninja had many perks, and one of those was that you were accustomed to extreme chakra control. It made adjusting the effects of simple jutsu easier for a ninja. He never once regretted his dream of being the greatest medical ninja the world has known. He was getting closer, slowly buy surely, to his dream and this was the next step.

Strafe chuckled as he realized that he was lost in thought again. He turned around to the items sitting on the rocks. He picked up his things, thinking of his next jutsu as he did so. Maybe he was too excited about something so simple. It was just a tournament after all. Then again, when had Strafe ever just took a mission easy. it went against his nature.

He looked around one more time before he started walking back in the direction he came from. He wanted to rest and make sure that he had plenty of chakra and stamina for his first match. He was going to win, after all.

’I need a new electric jutsu, this time, one that has a greater range than my electric impulse one. Also, I have to be able to manoeuvre it at will, to chase the target down in case it missed the first time,’ Shibirin thought to himself. He had decided to make his way on over to the fissure training grounds, as this was probably the best place to practise any old or new jutsu. Shibirin, like usual had brought his pet crow Onboo, with him, along with his three katana: Genko, Sai and Noro. He had almost arrived at the place, when he noticed a young boy, from the distance. Maybe the guy wasn’t young, maybe he was just short, but for some reason, Shibirin felt as if he had seen this guy before. As Shibirin got closer towards the guy, he saw that it was the guy he had escorted from Kirigakure here for the tournament. What was his name again, Stafe…Strafe, Strafe Aisu.

He walked up to the kid, now letting his bird fly off of his shoulder to roam freely around the training grounds. Onboo was a very loyal bird: as soon as Shibirin needed it, he’d only need to hold out his elbow for the bird to land on before it returned. Either that or he’d whistle a certain tune and the bird would know it was time for it to return. He then approached the boy and said, ”Good to see you again, Strafe. Are you finding Iwagakure to your liking, at the moment?”

Strafe was shocked to see Shibirin walk up to him again. it wasn't time for the tourney, so what was up? Strafe smiled at how polite Shibirin was to him. "Yea, I love it so far!" He said as a huge grin came across his face. "It's definitely different in comparison to Kirigakure." He said looking around the place once again.

"So what brings you hear to the training grounds?" He asked curious if Shibirin had the same idea that he had. "You training some new jutsu?" He asked, hoping to see something awesome. He had never seen a jutsu from Iwagakure before, so this would be pretty cool.

Shibirin was glad the guy was enjoying his stay in Iwagakure. It was true: Iwagakure was different to alot of the other villages, if not all. He himself could see the difference between Iwagakure and his old home Sunagakure, starting with the environment. Sunagaukure was a very hot and humid place, compared to the cool, Iwagakure atmosphere, whilst Kirigakure was cold in general. Shibirin had heard the guy say something about training a jutsu. It was true, Shibirin was here to train a brand new jutsu he was thinking about, though he didn't have anyone to practise on, until now.

"Ahh yes, i am here to train a new jutsu, but i need a target, would you mind if i use you as a target for it,, it won't hurt i promise?" exclaimed Shibirin. He knew the guy might not agreee to the idea, after all Shibirin hadn't even told the guy what the jutsu would do. Shibirin knew at his level, his jutsus would be enough to badly wound a genin on the first go, but he'd try his very best not to harm Strafe: at the moment, he was Shibirin's only true friend. In Iwa, Shibirin had no one to really call a friend. He considered himself an outcast because of this, but it didn't get to him much. He found ways to entertain himself without the company of others, training and doing jutsus were just some of them.

Strafe looked at the shinobi with a bit of shock. He didn't feel very good about his chances against this guy if it was a trap for some reason. However, deep down something told him to do it. "While logic says I shouldn't do this, I'm going to trust you." Strafe said giving the man a stern look. Strafe didn't think that this guy was evil in any way and hasn't done anything to suggest betrayal.

"So what is this jutsu?" Strafe asked, as he was already starting to get a tad nervous. Some justu are extremely painful, which Strafe didn't feel like enduring. He walked over to the man, waiting for him to direct the next move. Strafe could only hope that he made the right choice.

The guy seemed to trust Shibirin enough to let him try a new jutsu on him with effects he was completely oblivious to, so Shibirin going to try his best to preserve that trust. He wasn't your typical back stabbe; he didn't easil switch sides and attack his friends, he wasn't like that. Shibirin respected a few thigns in life, and trust between comrades and friends was just one of those things. Shibirin decided to tell the guy what the jutsu should do, or at least what he wanted it to do. He now crouched down on the spot and said, "I want to be able to send a lightning attack towards my opponent at long distances and be able to control its movements from my location," he explained, trying to keep it as simple as possible. "I'll shape the raiton attack into a bird and send it towards the target. Whether they're smart enough to realize it's not a bird is up to them", Shibirin exclaimed.

"So I'm going to be a moving target?" Strafe asked in a manner of unbelief. Raiton attacks are known to be quite painful at a high level, so he wasn't too keen about getting hit with one. Adding that to the fact that Shibirin was quite a bit stronger than he was, It made Strafe think twice about doing it. However, he had to go with his gut. It always paid off in the end.

"Ok, I'm ready to start whenever." Strafe said determined to be strong and helpful to a man who just helped him. What could go wrong?

Shibirin looked up to the sky: he saw his bird Onboo flying high up in the sky, just above the two. He wanted his raiton attack to resemble a bird flying towards the opponent, so for that he’d need to focus in shaping his raiton chakra into a three dimensional bird. Shibirin whistled two low note tunes and the bird immediately swooped down towards him. He held out his elbow and allowed the bird to land on it, before placing the bird down in front of him. Now, he needed the bird to stay still, so he could copy its shape. He remembered the phrase to make the bird stay in one spot. He looked at it and said, ”Onboo, stay where you are” and oddly enough, the bird understood him. It’d didn’t show it, but when Shibirin backed away 5m away from the bird, it didn’t follow him like it normally would. Shibirin then stopped and concentrated in cloaking his right arm with raiton chakra. It took him a few tries, but once he got the hang of it, he was able to charge his right hand with chakra. It now looked as if his had was wearing a glove made of electricity, but in it’s current state, the lightning wasn’t negatively charged enough to even zap a person: just how Shibirin needed it. He then looked over towards the bird on the ground, pointed his hand down to the left of the bird and sent a string of lightning towards it. The lightning string didn’t hit the bird, but instead hit the spot right next to the bird. Shibirin then started to feed the raiton with a little amount of chakra, to help him mould the raiton into the figure of a bird.

Shibirin could see a ball of lightning emerge from the spot he was feeding chakra to, in the first attempt. He then pulled back the raiton ball and let it disperse. He then charged his hand with raiton chakra again and sent a lightning string towards the same spot as before, only this time, the lightning struck the spot in a ball shape: he had managed to get the first part of the jutsu done. Now, he needed to be able to charge his hand with raiton chakra in less than a second, then send it towards his opponent, but in the form of a bird. So far he had managed to shape the raiton into a ball, now he needed to focus on shaping it into a bird. He started by stretching the raiton ball a bit, into an oval shape, before giving the oval another circle for the head. He then made one raiton wing on either side of the oval and then a tail behind the oval. The raiton ball now looked like a basic bird. Shibirin then finished off shaping the bird, and it now looked like an actual raiton bird. He cancelled the justu, for he now needed to be able to immediately cast it towards his opponent, in the shape of a bird. He now looked towards Strafe and said, ”I need you to walk 15m away from me” and when the guy had walked the 15m, he’d thread a few hand signs together, before saying, ”Heavenly attack”. Quickly charging his hand with raiton chakra in less than a second, he immediately sent a raiton string flying towards the boy, but 2 seconds after it had left Shibirin, it shaped itself into a bird. Now, it looked as if there was a lightning charged bird heading towards the boy. Luckily, Shibirin could use the justu 15m away from the opponent. Before letting the bird hit the boy, Shibirin made it fly around in circles around the boy, making sure he could control the bird whilst it went for the attack. He then allowed it to hit the boy, but he quickly dropped down the amount of chakra he was putting into it and made sure that if the boy was hit, all he would feel was a sudden buzz, enough to let Shibirin know that his jutsu was complete.

To say Strafe wasn't nervous would be a lie. The Raiton jutsus were hard to control, making this quite a risky position to be in. He saw the steps were being pieced together, it was about time. Strafe walked 15m away and turned around to face Shibi. The jutsu was suddenly cast, making it's way to Strafe. It immediately started doing circles around him, before crashing into him. It didn't really hurt, it was just a slight tingle. "Great job! I felt the Raiton attack!" He said smiling as he walked back over to Shibi.

Shibirin allowed a smirk to appear on his his face. The guy had not been harmed at all, though that was only because Shibirin had pulled back on most of the jutsu's damage to just a tingle. He didn't want to kill the chap, he was currently Shibirin's only friend, though he didn't want to admit it. "Great job. Thanks for helping me get that jutsu done, if it was anyone else, they would've dissagreed" Shibirin explained to the guy. He now watched him return. Shibirin sat down on the ground, putting his hands down for support. He then started to fiddle with the string from one of his sheaths, tied aroun dhis waist, as he said, "So, do you need me to help you train anything?" He wanted to return the favour.

"I actually just got through training a jutsu." Strafe said smiling. "However, there is one more jutsu that could use some training." Strafe said smiling as he thought. This was an original jutsu that he needed to go ahead and get finished. It would be a big help in the tourney, which was Strafe's whole goal in training. "The thing is, it's a medical ninjutsu, meaning someone needs to be injured before I can use it." Strafe said with a laugh. This was asking a lot of Shibi, but he had no doubt that he would do it. It's not like he was trying to learn Mystic Palm.

Shibirin needed to cut himself in order to help his friend out? Well, technically the guy had helped Shibirin more: after all, he took a hit from Shibirin, where as Shibirin in this case, is inflicting harm on himself only to be healed by the guy's jutsu. Shibirin couldn't think of a better way to return the guy's favour, so he agreed to the guy's scheme. "Sure, one second..." he said, now drawing out his Sai no ken Katana and making a slightly deep cut on the inside of his left palm. He then sheathed the blade and said, "Here," before showing the guy his left hand. The cut was deep enough to cause bleeding, so if the guy didn't heal his arm soon enough, he'd have to quickly rush to the hospital to get it all bandaged up.

"Wait! I need water first!!" He said in shock. Why would the guy just do that! Medical Ninjutsu need preperation! This guy obviously didn't know much about that, but he had to get things done. "Where is the nearest source of water?" He asked in a serious tone. He had to heal him regardless of how that could have been avoided. The cut it's self isn't that serious, but it needed to be closed as soon as possible. He could bleed out if it was just left open. He didn't know if his other medical ninjutsu was strong enough.

Strafe got closer to the man, grabbing a rag while doing so. He wrapped it around the man's hand. He started applying pressure to the hand, causing a bit of pain while doing so. "Keep pressure on it for me. I have to think for a second." He needed to make a fast decision and needed to consider his options.

So the guy didn't know any medcial ninjutsu? Shibirin was starting to feel as if he had just been pranked. Judging from the guy's panicking reaction towards him when he openly cut his hand, the guy didn't know much or any medical ninjutsu that could at least heal the wound or stop the bleeding. "I thought you knew how to heal this?!" Shibirin said, also panicking as he now realised how serious the case was. He felt a little bit of pain, when the guy applied preasure to his hand, but it was enough pain for even Shibirin to notice. "The nearest water is, uh...the river!" he said to the guy.

"First I'm going to patch it up a bit." Strafe said as he unrapped the hand, positioning it as he liked. "Hold it like this." He said as he sat down and closed his eyes. "Zenchi Te no Jutsu" Strafe's hands were immediately covered in chakra. He then moved his hands over Shibi's wounds. This would close it up some, at least enough to use another jutsu. Strafe concentrated solely on the jutsu, as medical ninjutsu is very delicate. The wound slowly, but surely was closing up.

"I'm going to close this up enough so we can go get water and I can heal it completely." Strafe explained carefully. This wasn't the most efficient way to be using his chakra, but it would do for now. It was now closed up enough to use the second jutsu. He then stopped healing his hand, moving one hand over the wound and the other half in a tiger form. "Blood Scab" Strafe said focusing his chakra so that he could close up the wound from healing any further. The wound wasn't completely healed, but it was good enough.

Strafe sat there for about a minute just focusing on one thing, finishing this without fail. "There, It's good enough so we can go get water. Once I do that, I can heal it completely with a new jutsu." He said calmly, but strongly. Luckily, Strafe has always had a clear mind, but he has to remember to slow down some times and just think. He used a decent amount of chakra, but it was okay. It's not like his match was today.

The guy needed water? But Shibirin thought all mist nin couls summon water out of nowhere, or something like that. Shibirin didn't know much about water, but by using his clan jutsu that allowed him to freely manipulate earth into a range of shapes and positions, he would be able to dig a hole deep enough to cause water to errupt. Shibirin gently sided Strafe to the side and said, "You need water, one sec..." before forming the half dragon seal and chanting out, "Earth style: Earth changing terrain!" and having said that, a slightly large hole, with a diameter of 5m but as deep as 25m appeared just a meter away from the two. It took about a fewseconds, before water started to poor out from the top, but only for a few seconds before the water settled. "Does, that help?" he asked the guy, pretty proud of what he could do.

Strafe was very impressed. Quite a unique way of applying a jutsu to the situation. He would make a good comrade in battle. "Thank You!" He said walking over to the water and kneeling down for a minute. He put both hands out horizontally over the water, concentrating on controlling his chakra. This was a C-Rank Jutsu, which is the top for a Genin. It wasn't easy by any means.

A smile creeped on Strafe's face as he started standing, bringing some of the water with him. "Water Style: Rejuvenating Water" It hovered in mid-air below his hands. It had a light tint to it as well, which was the Aisu chakra running through it and giving it healing properties. "Hold out you hand." Strafe said as he started the healing process by putting it on top of the wound slowly. Luckily, there was no pain to the jutsu.

The wound started healing at a moderate rate, showing the power of the jutsu. It wouldn't take but a few minutes to heal this wound. "This is the jutsu I was speaking of." Strafe said with a smile "It has considerable healing powers and various other uses." Strafe was very proud of the jutsu, as it was known only by him. He created it himself. It was his first big accomplishment as a Genin.

The wound was just about done. "By the way, most Medical Ninjutsu require preparation and time. " Strafe said looking at the guy with a joking face "That was pretty rash." He said laughing at the situation now. He finished healing the wound and moved the water away from Shibi. He then released it, allowing it to splash on the ground.

"I would call that a success." Strafe said smiling as he finished training another jutsu in the same day! It couldn't have been for him. "Thank you for helping me, by the way!" Strafe said to Shibi with a grin. "I hope I didn't freak you out too much!" Strafe said scratching the back of his way. He liked this guy. Maybe they would train again one day.

Now he needed to confirm those other ways. He wanted to make sure his jutsu was going to work as planned. He walked back over to the water, getting ready once again. "Water Style: Rejuvenating Water" As quickly as he said it, he was back on his feet. The more times Strafe used this jutsu, the better he got with it. "I can also drink this water, and it will raise my healing ability." He said nodding reassuringly.

The only way you knew it was working is that it left your body cold for a minute. It was an inmistakable chill letting you know the jutsu was working. Strafe smiled and started drinking it. It tasted like ice cold water, so it was tastey on top of helpful. He wiped his mouth, cleaning off all the water left behind. He then paused a second to see if the jutsu worked.

Suddenly, he was hit with a rush of cold all over his body. It was definately working, and it felt great. It was a nice experience to feel the fruits of his labor. "Right now, if I cut both of us, I would heal at least two times faster than you. It's a pretty nifty jutsu when saving lives." Strafe stated with his face gleaming with joy at his accomplishment.

Shibirin simply sat there, watching as his friend practiced his talent of healing people. He thought of Strafe, as the guy you'd want in every squad: the guy who can always heal those who have just come from combat and wish to return. He wasn't sure how the guy did on his on when it came to solo combat, but he also knew that medical ninjutsu wasn't his only specialty. Hopefully, Shibirin will get to witness the guy's fighting skills at the tournament, if he ever made it there. The guy was talented for sure, in medical ninjutsu, Shibirin felt lucky to have been his first test subject for this new jutsu of his. "Heh, you're a natural," Shibirin stated the obvious.

"Thank you very much!" Strafe said smiling. He raised his hand in a half tiger seal and dispelled the jutsu from him inside himself. "I could work on it some more, and give it some other effects as well." Strafe said looking at his hands."But that will do for now." The jutsu was only a C Rank technique so far, so it wasn't like it was supposed to raise the dead or anything. It was just a simple healing jutsu.

Strafe smiled at the man in a way of admiration.. Shibi had complete confidence in Strafe, which was reassuring to the young Genin. He wasn't the most experienced, but Strafe had always had a talent for Medical Ninjutsu. The Chakra Control that it required came a bit easier to him than most. "I know that most think of Medical Ninja as useless in combat." Strafe said with his face changing to a serious tone. "However, that's not true at all. A medical ninja must survive in order to heal his comrades." Strafe started getting lost in his own head, thinking about the upcoming tournament he was supposed to enter.

He was ready for combat, he had the jutsu and skill, he just felt a bit guilty. Maybe, he needed to take this time to work on his goal. He wasn't sure what to do, but it didn't matter now. He needed to enjoy his time with Shibi, as he wouldn't get a chance like this again. Strafe then started smiling again. He was just to serious some times.

Strafe stood up, grabbing a container from his bag he carried. He needed to make sure he had water with him at all times, just in case an emergancy ever happened around him. He had to be ready to save lives whenever possible. "You made me learn a valuable lesson today, Shibi!" Strafe said laughing "Expect the unexpected." He said with a grin as wide as the fissure around them. He then closed the lid, placing the container back in the bag. It held up to three quarts of water, which was needed for that jutsu in particular. Once he trained Archerfish, he wouldn't need it.

"By the way." Strafe said thinking about the information he already had about the tournament. "Are you going to be participating?" He asked with a soft voice. He didn't like the thought of facing Shibi in combat. He would rather forfeit and let Shibi have the win. Not that Shibi would allow that, but it would be Strafe's choice. Regardless, Strafe hoped for the best in upcoming events. He needed things to go right here so that he could feel proud when he entered Kiri.

Just as Strafe finished the sentence, Strafe saw a bird he recognized flying in the sky. He smiled, holding his arm out as it flew down, landing on his arm without fail. He saw a small scroll attached to the bird's leg. "Well this is strange." Strafe said recognizing the kiri symbol on the scroll. It was a message for Strafe, but what it was he didn't know. He carefully opened the letter, reading frantically as he did so.

Strafe suddenly burst into a smile as he finished the letter, written by the new Mizukage, Sero. "Shibi!" Strafe said closing the letter up a bit sloppily. "I'm on a squad now!" He said excited about the idea of finally having comrades to work with often. He knew Tsuneko, who was on the team with him. He had never heard of this Bonreu person, but he wasn't worried. He got along with basically everyone, so it didn't really matter.

The guy was overestimating Shibirin's power. Sure, Shibirin was two ranks higher than the guy, but in the past, even some genins proved worht fighting for him. He wasn't the type of person that liked to boast about their abilities, so instead he allowed people to judge his power as they may, but they'd only see whehter they had judged him right or not when they got the chance to fight him. Shibirin opened his mouth to reply to the guy's question, but held it open when he saw a bird fly down on the guy's shoulder/elbow. After a few seconds of watching the guy read the note, Shibirin suddenly heard the guy scream out something about being on a squad. "Congrats bro, you should go on over to kiri to take a look at your new squad" he said to the guy, feeling happy for him, that he had a squad to train and fight with, unlike Shibirin, who had been put in more than one squad throughout his entire life, but had to fight alone in all of them.

Shibirin heard the guy thank him, for helping him with something. Shibirin had never recieved a thank you from someone, before, it was nice for a change to be appreciated for something. He waved at the guy and said, "No problem, safe travels!" as he saw him walk off in the distance. He really couldn't wait for the day they'd meet again. He wished that day would be tomorrow, but sadly, this was reality. He was happy the guy was going off to his new squad. He was happy that for once, Kirigakure was doing things on its own again. He was happy for the guy, he was happy for the village and he was happy for Sero, on becoming the new Mizukage.
