Kennosuke

Kennosuke

D-rank
The moon hung high over head and a cool breeze swept through the branches of the mighty trees. Kennosuke stood perched on a branch overlooking a small rock outcrop that was well hidden and nestled among the many trees. On the face of the outcrop, partly concealed by branches was a door and the reason Kennosuke was there. He wore all black clothing, with his face concealed under a tight cloth mask with a hood pulled over his head. He had been followed one of his leads to this door and honestly had very little idea what was on the other side of that door. There was only one way for him to find out. He watched as the door opened and the man he followed there came staggering out. The man was under the influence of some sort of drug, which given that secluded area and attempts to hide the door, explained a lot. He knew where to find the man that led him there and he couldn’t let drugs be peddled so near his Village. With a low growl he begins to move across the area, searching for any other entrances or at the very least a better way to sneak in. It wasn’t too long before he found a hidden chimney that was just barely big enough for him to squeeze down. After prying open the grate with a Kunai, he coats his hands and feet in chakra and takes a deep breath which he holds before descending down the chimney head first.

The fire at the bottom was nothing more than embers and the smoke was light. He was able to climb to the bottom with ease and once at the bottom he paused. He couldn't hear anyone near the fire place so he took a quick peek. After he was sure now one would see him he crept out of the fireplace and release himself from the wall before ducking behind a couch. The room was dimly lit and had couches, chairs and large cushions spread everywhere. He could hear people murmuring through out the room.He slinks from shadow to shadow, his eyes darting taking every detail in of the large open room. Other than the places to sit and the those sprawled out on many of them, the room was empty, with a heavy metal door across one side of the room with a burly man sitting in a chair next to it. A wicked Kanabo leaned on the wall next to him and he looked very much like he knew how to use it. Another door stood nearly directly across from where he couched now, After a moment he smirks and takes in a deep breath, molding his Katon chakra with the air he took in.He released the air, blowing a nauseous gas from his Misty Flame Dance toward the small flames of the fireplace he entered the building through. As soon as he finished exhaling the gas, he sinks deeper into a shadow and painfully slowly draws his sword that was sheathed across his back. Moments pass as his gas drifts across the room toward the small flames of the fireplace. He could hear voices in the other room, two at the very least.Three potential threats and a room full of near invalids, whom he hoped would run when the gas ignited but if they didn’t, that was on them. He would wait there in his cove of darkness, waiting for the coming flames.

The flammable gas suddenly ignites, sending a 10 meter fireball out from the fire place. In such a confined space, the concussion of the fireball knocked over a table and a chair that was near the fireplace. The guard by the door leap to his feet and a number of the more coherent people cried out. There was confusion, people trying to flee to the door, while the guard was trying to come toward the blast. Another man steps out from the adjoining room, a wicked looking short sword in his hand. He wore a black cloak, over a grey tunic and wore a featureless metal mask. He had a Konohagakure Forehead protector hanging from his belt, the symbol etched out with a slash through it.

“The hell is going on in here?” The Missing-nin would ask the door guard, who shrugs and points at the  wreckage and flames that had began to spread. He had left his kanabo by the door and was now standing mere feet from Kennosuke’s hiding spot.

“I don’t know. The damned fireplace just coughed up a fireball. I was just sitting over ther..” His words were cut short as Kennosuke springs from the shadows and draws his blade across the older mans throat. Blood flows freely and the man grasps at his opened throat and stumbles backward, tripping over a cushion and falling to the ground, gasping for air through his neck wound. The Missing-Nin chuckles and shakes his head.

“Should of known it was one of you village lapdogs. Shutting this place down wont be as easy as you expected, Lapdog. I’ll make sure of that.” He says as he steps further into the room. Kennosuke stood across the room from him, Rekka held low in his hand, blood dripping onto the floor. He had already began drawing air into his lung and infusing his chakra with it.

“Well look here. While looking for one Traitor I found another.” Kennosuke smirks the Missing-Nin chuckles and darts forward, his short sword held low. Five highly condensed balls of fire burst from his mouth, flying toward his opponent at 15 meters per second. the Missing-nin dodges the first three which explode on the wall near the fireplace spreading even more flames. Two of the spiraling fireballs land true, exploding onto the Missing-nin's chest. At the moment the impact the missing-nin's body 'poofs' and is replaced by a log from the fireplace.

Moving just in the nick of time, Kennosuke was able bring Rekka up and block a downward slash that was launched in the midst of the Substitution jutsu. The two trade blows, sparks fill the air and the clash of steel on steel echoes in the burning room. The Missing-nin leaps back and without forming any hand seals launches a 5 meter fireball at Kennosuke, who responds by launching his own fireball. A smaller 4 meter fireball, that was ment to attack and disassemble his opponents jutsu rather than attacking his opponent. The two fireballs collide and seem to fight each other before both vanish with a woosh.

"He told me you were looking for us Kennosuke." The Kimura Missing-nin says, taunting the masked Kennosuke by showing he knew who was under the mask. "Though, he never expected you to find this place. Next time we meet, I will kill you. But thanks for destroying the evidence for us." The man chuckles and makes a quick series of hand signs and a wall of rock rises from the ground, effectively cutting Kennosuke off from the door. Cursing to himself he looks around the virtual inferno he stood in. He sheathed his sword and moves quickly to then other room. Someone had tossed the fuel burning lamps on the desk and the room was roaring in flames. He punches the wall and then turns, igniting Burning Ambition and darting to the fireplace he used to come in. The jets propel him across the burning room and then aid his jump up the fireplace. Bursting from the small hole, the ground around him collapses as the wooden supports inside could no longer support the weight of the ceiling.

Without pause he begins moving through the trees, aided by Burning Ambition. The Missing-nin would probably want to  tie up the loose end that led Kennosuke to their drug den and he had to get there before his only lead was killed. He moved the fastest he could using the momentary jets to propel him that much faster. He was close to the village now, following the same path he had followed the man to the den in the first place. He stops abruptly on a branch and sighs. The Missing-nin had gotten there first and his lead lay dead on the ground before him. He jumps dkwn from his perch and does a quick search of the body.

"Nothing. After all that I have nothing to show for it." He says to himself before rising to his feet. Leaping back into the trees he begins his return home. He could confirm that there were atleast two Kimura working together and that they knew he was coming for them. Other than that, he had no idea who they were and other than profiting from the drug trade whay their actual intentions were. But that wouldn't stop him. He would hunt them down and bring them to righteous justice.
