Verdandi was ready to get the last Kumo solo mission behind her. She still had one more where she'd have to deal with the nation of crazy nuts but there were 2 other ninja helping her to get this over with. Verdandi sighed, it hasn't been as bad is could have been. Most of Verd's conflicts with the village came from interactions with either extremists, insane people, hired muscles or just generally mad asshats. It was time to deal with all of this and get to terms with Kumo not being completely bad. She thought so at least. But to Verdandi's displeasure she'd find herself assigned to a mission where she was supposed to deliver weapons to a band of crazy ass mercenaries. Verdandi didn't like the idea of this. The convoy she was protecting was getting ready at the doors and they just added all kinds of scary weaponry to the mix. Tossing in a multitude of nasty weapons, of good quality, that could easily kill a man. Verd moved back into the camp, she saw the boxes of explosives and ended up with a wonderful idea. After the weapons were loaded. Verd snuck herself into the weapons cart and quickly opened up the explosives box. Placing the multitude of the tags all over inside the cart. Unless they were contacted by her activation chakra they would be harmless. She hid the tags in the corners of the cart just to make sure they wouldn't be seen right from the start if someone opened up and peeked in.

Slipping back out, Verd would simply join the weapon delivery guys as if nothing happened. She was being constantly eyed by the Kumo soldiers anyway. Living the chance of doubt that she might not have all interests in common with them. Especially on the premise that they were supposed to meet up with a radical group of mercs and murderers. Verd hummed to herself a little song of carefree thoughts while petting her cute polar bear. Making sure he was being cared for and his fur was being softly glazed in little brittle ice so that he felt comfortable under the heavy heated sun of the desert. It wouldn't take all too long until the lot of them arrived at the meeting point. A good dozen nasty looking thug were here. Already armed quite well, but certainly having space to for proper armor and shiny blades within their inventory. The weapons were placed with its cart at the centre of their camp. They shortly opened up and gazed inside. The leader, a though looking guy, would pull out a shiny Dao blade and eye it. He didn't notice Verdandi's tags which was good. There was still a chance that Dandi would simply go through with this deal. But it wouldn't happen until tomorrow morning. The weapons would be carefully guarded. None of the merc's allowed near the cart until the deal was sealed. During open negotiations they thug boss was seemingly subservient to all of Verdandi's questions. Too submissive even.

Knowing well that something was incredibly foul here, the stench of ill play was reeking into Verd's nose from afar. So, at a night, Verdandi would pretend to go rest early. Leaving a simple bunshin in her place in her tent so she could use the silhouette technique to walk unseen in the darkness, through the camp and listen to the various conversations around her. Slipping from one person's shadow into the next. Gathering information about the Kumo's that were also suspicious about the thugs, but also those who were seemingly aware of the greater cause of this. Slipping nearby the main tent. Verdandi would stay hidden outside, allowing her ears to follow the conversation within. It took a good hour of listening to their utter gibberish until at last they started to make ill remarks about the snow princess. "I hope that bitch will leave soon, we got a job to do. If she knew we were going to slice up her very own people with that cart she'd certainly not have such a condescending arrogant smile on her stupid face." One remarked, followed by the thug boss going. "Shut up you little screwup. If any word of this comes through to her, we'll have to deal with that frickin monster she brought with her and unless you have the guts to wrestle a fucking bear I hope you can keep your fuckin trap shut." It was easy. Not surprising. But the confirmation for what she was looking for after all.

They had the stones to hire a kiri-nin that would supply merc's to attack kiri-nin. That was either incredibly stupid, or whomever was given the task to hire Verdandi for this job had a very sadistic sort of humour at hand. After all, she'd have been the laughing stock of them for the remainder of this war if she ever went through with this. Verd wasn't that sure anymore however, if the Kumo-nin really expected her to be that stupid or if they kind of expected this all to fail. After all, her finding out what's going behind the scenes would directly put her in danger. Eventually caught between the kumo soldiers and the thugs, all alone safe for her bear. Verdandi returned after a while. They were talking about how some just wanted to 'murder her in her sleep and get over with it' and alike. But the leader was strict and wished to follow the plan. To Verdandi's advantage. She didn't sleep that night anyway. Just in case one of the drunk thugs decided to play the hero of his men and try to come and lynch Verd in her sleep anyhow. The next morning, Verdandi's bear had vanished into the nearby woods. So, did the real Verdandi. In her tent was but a shadow clone of herself. Ready to play its role in this whole charade. Stepping out of her tent and moving on to finish the negotiations as planned.

Once the weapon deal was finished. Verdandi-clone left together with the caravan of kumo-nin. Some concerns were raised about the bear. But the clone kept insisting that he's around and will follow up on them by scent. No need to worry. He's probably hunting in the 'woods for flesh', she would add to any concerns raised. Once the Kumo's were far away enough. The real Verdandi would slowly return from her hiding. Approaching the camp at dawn, hiding in the shadows. Avalanche not far away from her. Both of them watching how the thugs were collecting themselves around the weapon cart. It was now or never. She'd probably not get another chance to take out that many enemies before too many weapons were unloaded. Verdandi triggered the explosives and the whole weapon cart went BOOM in an instant. What followed was utter chaos and confusion. The mind bogglingly noise of the bomb had set off the whole camp. A good ten men were dead. Caught either in the explosion or killed by weapon splinters that had shot in all directions after the explosives went off. The supposed goods were useless safe for those that had already been extracted from the cart. The numbers of the thugs had been reduced below half of their capacity before the battle had even begun and now it did. During the confusion, Avalanche and Verdandi launched their attack. The large bear would crash into the first enemy in sight. Clawing himself into him and starting to bite away flesh from their neck.

Meanwhile, Verdandi's clone used the chance of doubt to escape the caravan. Falling further and further back until she was no longer seen by them. Returning in direction of her Master. Dispersing into thin air as soon as she was in reach to return her chakra to the snow princess. Verdandi moved in. Avalanche was already tearing into the second soldier. Hitting him with his claws and so did Verdandi. She slit a thug by their chest with her saw-activated blade. Leaving them to bleed away massively. Verdandi saw that a lot of enemies were incoming for her, sending her chakra for substitution into the next best nearby object she could see close to Avalanche, which would be some sort of half destroyed mace. Using the paralysation shout, Verd sent the next enemy to his knees before cutting her blade into his throat. The shark teeth on the nasty weapon were already deeply covered in blood. The bleeder blade was a nasty weapon. She kicked another incoming guy aside. Evaded two projectiles. Slid back as a spear tried to hit her and jumped into the air to avoid an arrow that would ultimately find its misguided aim into the chest of another thug instead. Avalanche was ready to rip his claws into the next enemy. Most of the thugs were either fleeing from the large creature or avoiding him at least. No one really had a big desire to mess with a walking tank like him.

Verdandi danced through the masses, skilfully avoided any incoming weapon slices and prepared her chakra for the next attack. Sometimes allowing her blade to cut into an arm or leg. Causing loud screams and blood to flow. At the potential thread of getting impaled by too many arrows and projectiles, Verd took a step back and exhaled the voice of Susanoo technique, blasting their projectiles right back at them and defending herself from any ill means incoming for her. What followed was a series of simple ice techniques, first the ice shards would allow her some frost senbons and shoot them at her enemy's neck. Adding her own real senbon to the play to properly impale him with a good twenty projectiles. Moving on to the twin killing icicles in order to stomp the blades into their sides, cutting into their legs and making them fall to their knees. However, Verdandi could see that the boss thug was now within her reach. A large fireball was incoming her way. Verd deflected it quickly with an ice mirror shard and yet his large hammer hit Verd right on the chest. Or at least it seemed so. In the very last second, she used her previously prepared kawarimi jutsu to swap places with the mace. As the thug boss's hammer hit the mace mid-air it would propel the weapon straight into the face of one of his men and killing him in a most gruesome and unintended way.

Verdandi saw that the few last remains of the troops were gathering. Avalanche had ripped all his enemies apart and was only slightly wounded. Two soldiers and the boss remained. The soldiers were incoming for her. Verdandi breathed snow powder to the floor and made their asses slip on the slick ice. The one closest to her would quickly by sliced to pieces with her saw blade. Her own feet coated in supernatural walking technique. Easily following up on the surface to attack the boss head-on. Avalanche meanwhile jumped at the last soldier and pinned him down before his jaw opened and his massive teeth came for the poor sods face. Ripped apart and left to bleed an uttermost cruel death. He fired his senbon launchers at Verdandi, forcing her to answer them with her shuriken. Almost using up all her projectiles in the process. But while her palm was ready at her pouch, Verd would throw forth a smoke bomb. Obscuring his vision before trying to attack him. A wind jutsu, gale palm was launched at Verdandi. Not able to defend it in time it'd toss her back towards Avalanche. The enemy ninja incoming, ready to smash his hammer down on the young princess. Intercepted by the bear as he ran onto him and started to claw at his face, tearing wounds into his skin before Ava was pushed aside by a powerful push of the mans hammer. The obviously pissed off thug coming for Verdandi again.

It was time to finish things up. Verd got back on her feet, seeing the large dragon fire bullet coming and answering it with her water shark bullet. Avoiding the swing of the hammer. Slicing her blade past the enemies' arms until he dropped the hammer. Kicking his chest to have him fall back. She summoned an A-Rank chakra to have the ice prison raised from the ground and start to creep up on his body. Sheathing her blade, screaming as she formed a thick rasengan in her right palm and activated the ice prison grave technique with her left. The prison was starting to painfully burn and crush the man beneath the ice surface, until Verdandi's rasengan hit his stomach and slowly shoved itself bit by bit deeper and deeper into his chest. Starting to consume his flesh. Ripping his muscles apart, his bones already broken by the means of the grave technique until at last. The impact of the rasengan wasted away his remaining insides and lethally destroyed most of his organs. Verd wasn't really good with hammers. But she'd pick up his weapon. Lift it over her body and smash it down on his head, cracking his skull to pieces and leaving a completely and utterly violated corpse behind where the man used to be standing. Exhausted from this whole ordeal, Verd dropped back on her ass and panted hard. Watching the frozen, decapitated and split open corpse before her. Unable to believe how much damage she just inflicted in her rage.

The battle was over. The thug boss was probably one of the strongest enemies Verdandi had ever defeated. Such endurance was something she hadn't seen before. Her chest still hurt from when he actually hit her. Avalanched too was wounded. The bear could normally walk however. Verd shortly secured the area. Made sure all soldiers were dead. Slicing any corpse through the throat just to be sure. The good 20 enemies and the monstrous leaders left behind in a burned down camp in a mess of exploded weaponry. By the time the Kumo-nin had noticed that Verdandi had left and came back to check on things. She'd already be gone and the mess she had left behind would be an eternal reminder to any of them that messing with an ice princess or trying to use her as a puppet in order to harm her own people… was not something healthy to do. They would have to report what happened. But they would also have no proof other then the remains of massive ice and frost all over the place. Verd would cling to Avalanche's back and have the bear drag her to the Kiri camp where she'd see to her getting some proper medical attention. After all, she'd finally need some bed rest. This was exhausting. But even while in hospital she'd make sure to get her proper report signed. After all, even if the Kumo-nin would try to cover up any remains. The kiri ANBU would want to see what happened on that battlefield.
