Verdandi moved on to the next appointed task on her list. She really wanted to get over with this quickly. The missions granted by Kumogakure were creeping the shit out of her. Hearing what this one had in store for her couldn't but leave her to laugh out loudly. Protecting priests. That are spreading their truth about the Raikage. Verdandi face palmed. She inhaled deeply. Why was she doing this again? Was it for the good of diplomatic enhancement? Well keeping an uneasy peace with a nation that was obviously nuts had its appeal. But she was pretty sure that she did it for the favour she owed her aunt and the money that was in this babysitting job. Verdandi met the priests and made it quite clear from the start that it was her job to protect them and not to listen to their nonsense. The lot of them clearly displeased by Verdandi's rude attitude, however they certainly did shut up and kept their words of the Raikage's salvation to themselves for now.  Seeing as that was dealt with. Verd organized a caravan carriage. Putting the three priests in there, leaving the task of pulling them through the dunes to the hired hands. Some simple kumo guards accompanied the caravan. Their faces hidden under masks despite the fact that they certainly were no ninja. Verdandi told herself many times to keep it together and not bother. To chill and just accept that there were strange people in these lands.

Verdandi slowly moved along them with her trusty bear. He first part was about as boring as she could imagine. Just watching the sand dunes raise and lower within the howling wind. At some point she started to think, talking with the kumo people might at least entertain her in a very self-destructive way. Once the primary act of transporting them to the convoy seemed to reach its conclusion. Verdandi was getting more positive about this once again. Seeing as she finally had the prospect of talking with seemingly non-insane people. The refugees however seemed to be worn out. They had been all over the place these last few months. Verd knew how the refugee setup in Kiri was done but she had no idea how Kumo was handling them. They didn't seem well fed or mentally cared for. As the priests moved from their carriage to join up with the rest of the walking masses. They intently started to ask the refugees for their well-being. For a moment there. Verdandi had hope that she had misjudged the whole situation. That those blokes might end up doing something worthwhile. That they might end up giving some proper care to those refugees and support them in their certain dire need for it. One of them even did. Isaak. The youngest of them. Certainly, maintaining a very unusual aura to himself. But while the other two quickly started to disappoint Verdandi's hopes and dreams as they chanted their prayers and tried to explain to the refugees what greatness the Raikage held within himself, he seemed just as annoyed as Verdandi.

Starting to have new hopes within the sad truth of the moment. Verd moved off track as the guards still aligned themselves slowly around the caravan. Stepping near Isaak to welcome him. His smile was bright. "Why would you smile at me, when I was so rude to you earlier?" she asked. "It is not the first time I face this kind of reaction to our cause." He replied. "We aren't all the kind of fools you might believe us to be. Some of us have a genuine wish to help the people in these god forsaken lands." He continued wisely and calmly. Verdandi was almost impressed there for a sheer minute. "You mean in this Raikage forsaken lands?" Verd asked a bit mockingly. "Why are you here, if you have so little faith in us young ice queen?" he added, giving away his slightly existent knowledge about her heritage at least. "Just helping out… diplomatic ideals and doing a solid to a relative…" she added. "Ahh, the Mizukage is sending her kin to deal with tiresome jobs like these?" he teased further in, actually raising a smile on her face. "You are not like your brethren. Why do you even worship your… god." Verd asked genuinely. "He saved my wife. My kids. My family. I don't know if he did intend to do it. I don't know if he truly is what he claims to be. But without him I would be nothing. Is that not quite much the definition of being one's god?"

Isaak had his argument there. "I see. Well I still don't agree. But at least… thank you for sharing that with me. That actually was a wonderful surprise." Verdandi smiled. But she wouldn't for long. The screams of refugees echoed past the caravans. The guards in the lower end of it had been attacked. One pierced by a large blade into his chest, dying slowly and bleeding to the ground. The priests quickly hurried back towards the carriage, Verd noted to Isaak to do the same before she would run off in direction of the assault. She left Avalanche behind to guard the carriage. As she guessed and soon confirmed. The attackers only went for the Kumo-nin and had no interest in the refugees. Quickly Verdandi made sure that the refugees would split and exhale their numbers away from the caravan. Meanwhile two shinobi were charging for Verdandi, obviously targeting her as a shinobi. A mixture of fire bullets and large fireballs were being shot in Verdandi's direction. The kiri-nin was yet not impressed much by the view of fire. Quickly raising the water encampment technique and watching it idly swallow all the low ranked fire techs without any problem. Using a new trick, she had learned not too long ago as she would send Hyouton chakra right into the wall of water.

Thick ice spikes would burst from the water wall vertically forward and straight into the enemy ninja's bodies. Sticking them up like mere little meat pieces. Adding insult to injury as the frozen wall slowly started to break backwards and fall onto the surface below. Basically, sticking their impaled bodies into the sand like they had been hit from the frost spears right from above them. Verdandi nodded to herself. Impressed with the result. But she had to turn around. Hearing her trusty bear growl loudly. Seeing him already ripping apart a lower ranked shinobi. Four more started to charge in. Two were going for the bear and two for the carriage with the priests. Knowing that Avalanche could deal with it. Verd aimed her beloved thousand needles of death to the two enemies approaching the carriage. They already ripped the door open and were about to stick their blades into the priests. As the needles slowly hit them from all sides and left them in a bloody mess. Verd moved in to finish them off and leave them to bleed all over into the carriage. Seeing how Avalanche got slightly cut into his hind legs by one enemy while he crushed the others blade hand within his jaw and left the handless man to bleed out from his wasted limb. He turned around to stare at the soldier that dared to poke his weapon onto the bears skin. Rewarding him with a rather large claw wound to the chest. Leaving him for Verdandi to move in and shortly pierce his heart with her blade.

The assault was over. Some guards had been slain but the Kumo priests were alright. However, their desire to yell about the greatness of their god had suddenly vanished. Verdandi smirked. What wonderful silence. The spot was marked and a raven would be summoned and then sent to ask for hunter-nin to pick up the remains of the scene. Meanwhile the priests actually helped, despite being massively covered in blood, to re-attach the refugees back into the caravan. Verdandi sighed. Moving to see if Isaak was alright. The poor sod still shocked from the experience. "Are you alright?" she asked softly. Actually, catching herself caring for this poor sod. "Yeah I'm still alive that is… so seems everyone else here." Verd giggled as she heard his response. "Well does that make me your new god now hmm?" she answered. The joke was very low and not funny at all. But Isaak actually laughed. The mission was over. The refugees soon arrived at their target camp and were cared and checked in for. The priests having not really accomplished any goals other than annoying a few refugees that now certainly had a think for the Kiri forces that protected them in all of this. But her mission objective was complete. Despite some bloodstains none of the priests were harmed. Verd shortly escorted them back and met the hunters already removing her previous battlefield. This wasn't so bad. Considering what she had expected of it… could have been a lot worse.
