"Report to the excavation site at sunrise". The words upon the mission scroll parchment which he unfurled in front of him echoed with disdain inside of N'Jobu's mind. An early bird he was certainly not, but he was not one to turn down a chance to gain some ryo to fund his tinkering and upgrades to his arsenal. Ryo was surely something he would need as he just had his bow in the repair shop for the time being to fix a broken upper limb. His only solace was that he could at least try to go to bed early so he could get his rest before the early morning tomorrow. “Seems to be an easy assignment,” he mused to himself, “all that needs to be done is clear out the local fauna and flora from the desolate waste land that is the remnants of Sunagakure no Sato. Should be no problem. Let me get a good night’s rest so that I can get this done quickly”. He furled the scroll back up into his pants pocket and walked toward one of the tall posts from the small base camp. Using his Kikaichū, he outstretched his hand and made a rope to connect to the top of post. He then covered himself in his precious insects, making a cocoon like sleeping bag with a hole for his face to see out of. As he lay there in his cocoon he mused about what the next day would bring, thinking of possibilities for parkour through the ruins which would make the chore of getting up at the crack a dawn a bit more bearable. With the passing thoughts and peaceful tranquility, he dozed off into a wonderful slumber.

As the sun rose to disturb N’Jobu’s slumber, he shook the sleep from his eyes and let himself down from his cocoon sleeping bag. He stretched and yawned as his feet hit the floor as most would do having to wake up so early. With a quick crack of the neck and some stretching, N’Jobu set off running into the urban wasteland which many shinobi used to call home. The landscape was a traceur’s paradise which would provide endless routes and paths to be traced. N’Jobu mused about the all the fun he could have when not on a mission but for now he had a job to do and he was no slouch. He knew there would be others on this mission as well but figured they could catch up to him later. He dashed through the decrepit buildings, flipping and jumping about as he made his way from one point to another. As he went, his Kikaichū were left behind to eat the flora around the area and made it a bit more livable for setting up camp. Although they normally are fed on chakra, eat plants was not a difficult task for his precious little insects. He continued his patrol through the streets, tracing his way around the perimeter of the camp to clear out the remaining flora from the area. He hadn’t found any wildlife yet, but he prepared himself should he come across some as the fauna of Sunagakure was known for being particularly vicious.

Satoru had been sitting at the oasis that was used as a rendezvous in his last mission to Sunagakure no Sato, at least thats what it once was. Now it was just a mess of wild growing flora and glass. The entire time he spent there he was under the shade of a tree, eating a rice ball and reading from a laid out scroll, the breifing of the mission at hand. After carefully going over the mission one more time, the young namikaze got back to his feet, put the scroll away and discarded the waste from the riceball into a nearby trash can. Remembering how hot the temperature usually is in Sunagakure, he pulled his haori top off of his torso and let it hang from his waist band rope sash. Before he left the oasis he did a quick exercise circuit of sit ups, push ups and he did some pull ups from a branch of a nearby tree. As he got to wrapping up his exercise, he landed under the tree from doing sit ups and began walking to his destination, close to the heart of Sunagakure.

Satoru had never been this close to the heart of Sunagakure before. His last mission near here took place near the outskirts of the village. Though he had never been here before the village was destroyed he can't help but imagine what it must've been like to have lost your entire home. So many people have had to move to other villages or just adapt to a homeless life, wandering the Land they used to call home. The Namikaze youth had reached to an urban jungle that comprised of a few decrepid buildings and lots of  glass shards all over the sand. It quickly became apparent that walking through Sunagakure without proper foot wear can be a mistake that posed harsh consequences. Satoru knew he was supposed to meet another konoha genin before he left the village but he recieved word from his superiors that his partner had already went ahead and started the mission without him, he had hoped to meet him in this area. All over nearby bushes and wild weeds, there were kikaichu, the bugs made known by the jutsu style of the Aburame. Knowing that his partner was an Aburame clan member, there was no doubt in his mind that the other genin sent from the village was nearby.

As he made his way to the buildings he was immediately set on alert by a demon wind shuriken coming in to attempt cutting his legs clean off. Satoru looked in its direction to discover the origin of the weapon. He recognizes the incoming threat as a Sunagakure shinobi, a low life bandit looking to make a living off of anyone foolish enough to venture through the ruins. The genin had jumped over the shuriken and let it sweep under him as though it was nothing, the real threat was coming from the bandit who was charging satoru with a sword ready to cut him down mid-air. Sato couldn't let this happen, he wasn't gonna die to a low life like this before he made the Namikaze name known throughout the lands. He quickly retreieved his kunai from his pouch and used it to parry the slicing motion of the opponent's blade. Even though he had parried it, he was still mid-air, and this grown man was a bit more physically capable than Satoru so the sheer force of the parry had knock the young gennin back a few meters before he landed on his feet in a defensive stance with his kunai held reverse grip. "You're really far from home to be alone kid. Heh-heh, you're gonna die in this wasteland for a stupid cause." Satoru didnt reply to the older man dressed in the former uniform for Sunagakure shinobi. He was most likely an ex chunin that resorted to crime after the village was destroyed, what a sad way to live. The young konoha genin had his wits about him and was waiting in a defensive position to see what the opponent would do. If the bandit used a jutsu, Satoru could nulify it but if he went for another assault using his sword, the genin might've been in trouble.

Dashing and dipping through the streets, he stopped into a nearby building to rest for a few moments and take a quick break from monotony of clearing out plant life. Plants don’t fight back and having his Kikaichū simply devour them was not the most exciting of tasks. While the parkour element provided a bit of fun, the task overall was without any real challenge. As he sat down on a broken table from a shop, he heard the familiar clang of steel nearby. “Fight nearby…Let’s check it out,” he thought to himself. Without hesitation, he slowly maneuvered himself into a position to see what was going on from the source of the noise. Moving slowly to ensure he didn’t give away his position, he peered into the building beside the one he was currently residing in through a broken segment of wall. From his perch, N’Jobu could see two shinobi currently engaged in combat. A mid-sized shinobi of average building wearing a Sunagakure headband and draped in the traditional Sunagakure uniform. He had a katana in his right hand and was clearly had at least some swordsman skill. He was clearly older than the other shinobi who appeared to be wearing a Konohagakure headband. His fellow leaf ninja appeared to be taking a defensive position, clearly it seemed he had been caught off guard. “Well, I guess that is the other shinobi that was supposed to be clearing out this area with me. I suppose I should help him,” N’Jobu mused to himself. He continued to watch for a moment, checking for an ingress point where he could get the drop on the Suna shinobi and help his fellow leaf breatharian. He noticed a small break in the wall further down which would lead behind the two and would give him the element of surprise. He quickly made his way through the hole in the wall and positioned himself to catch the other ninja off guard.

"You're really far from home to be alone kid. Heh-heh, you're gonna die in this wasteland for a stupid cause", The older shinobi touted out to younger leaf shinobi. The younger leaf shinobi remained silent, taking in his surroundings like a good shinobi should. He likely understood the situation as N’Jobu did but he did seem a bit rattled by what N’Jobu could only imagine was a surprised attack by the more seasoned Suna nin. Realizing the swordsman was likely to rush his leaf counterpart, N’Jobu quickly formed the tiger seal and released thousands of Kikaichū into the ground swarming toward the midpoint between the two shinobi. They would lay in wait for the older shinobi to fall for his trap. “Time to die!” the Suna Nin shouted as he launched himself forward preparing to thrust his sword into his fellow comrade. As he rushed forward, his movement was immediately stalled as N’Jobu’s Kikaichū burst from the ground and swarmed up the shinobi’s legs immobilizing him in place. The enemy shinobi looked down at his legs and began to freak out at the black mass of insects currently swarming all over him, a sensation most would consider unnerving at best. His insects would slowy devour the shinobi's chakra and weaken any jutsu he would try to use against his fellow leaf nin. N’Jobu found it particularly hilarious the sounds of fear that escaped the shinobi’s lips as he attempted to fight off the swarm devouring his chakra bite by bite. Given that the shinobi was no longer an immediate threat, N’Jobu figured he would let his fellow comrade dispose of the shinobi, or at least see what kind of a fighter he was. He would remain in hidden away from the two but watching and waiting for the next course of action. He wondered just what his fellow leaf ninja was capable of, and was willing to give him a chance to see what he could do before N’Jobu would step in to assist further.

The clash of steel had Satoru slightly shocked, he wasn't used to being in the field as a ninja, some would say he is still 'ripe'. He felt adrenaline rush through his body as his opponent wasted no time in engaging Satoru, ready to thrust through his chest. What came next was something that didnt come as too much of a surprise to the young genin as a small black swarm of bugs erupted from the ground a few meters in front of him, catching the older shinobi completely off guard. He knew to himself that this was the doing of his partner walking through the ruins,  had noticed kikaichu on the local flora and had thought to himself that maybe this was his partner's way of completing the mission. The startled sunagakure shinobi froze in horror at the swarm that had taken the lower half of his body and immobilized him.

The unkown partner had created a small window of time for Satoru, as he as well as his partner probably knew, this is a chunin level ninja, he more than likely had some sort of means to escape the immobilisation if he wanted. The element of surprise in this case will only work if Satoru seizes this moment to do what must be done...to take a life. After his first run in with some other suna bandits on his previous mission, he knows that sometimes as  shinobi, one must not be a stranger to making the opponent suffer a fatality. Especially when other shinobi out in the fields are more than willing to take your own life without hesitation.

He couldn't afford to waste the opportunity and let the opponent regain their stability. Satoru tightened his grip of the kunai in his right hand and took a breath before charging the immobilized ninja and swiping the weapon across the shinobi's throat, gushing blood out onto satoru's face and torso. This didn't kill the man immediately, he fell to his knees with Satory stood over him, taking his vest off and wiping the rest of the blood off of his face, arms and hair. The older man had put on a face of horror as his final moments were of him being tooken by a swarm of dangerous bugs.  Satoru wiped the last of the blood on his torso and put his haori top back on as he wasn't comfortable being bareback, "I don't know what you lived for but i assure you, you died without a cause" the young genin wiped the kunai in the vest that he was now using as a rag and discarded the vest after. The suna bandit fell on his face by this point and Satoru had put the kunai back into his tool pouch. He was a bit shaken by taking the life of another, to him, this came as a form twisted form of initiation into the shinobi world. Being prepared to take a life is something he has to get used to, and he couldn't let this phase him too much. His focus now became on looking for his partner who had saved him from a long fight that he wasn't sure he could win. He looked around but didn't see his partner, this didn't stop him from saying "Good job, you really came through for me in a pinch" he spoke into the air around him, as he did not know where or who his speech was aimed at.

As he watched from his perch he wondered would his leaf brethren be able to finish the task laid out for him on a silver platter. Without much hesitation, the shinobi jolted forward with his kunai in hand. In an instant there was blood splattered across his face and body, an artistic tribute of a job well done. The man, with his throat gashes open, fell to his knees with a look of pure horror upon his brow knowing he would live out his last moments in agony while he bled out in tandem with having his chakra drained from his body. "I don't know what you lived for but i assure you, you died without a cause," he said to the dying nin with seemingly no remorse for the life he had just taken. A few short moments later, the Suna nin lay flat face down into the dirt, a pool of blood congregating underneath his neck where the kunai had swiped away his flesh. "Good job, you really came through for me in a pinch," he comrade said out loud in no particular direction, unassumingly trying to ascertain N'Jobu's location.

"You know, you really should be a bit more vigilant out here. He could have killed you had I not restrained him," N'Jobu whispered as he crept down from his vantage point. He walked into the other shinobi's line of sight "I'm N'Jobu. I've pretty much cleared out the area already with my kikaichū, so there really isn't much left to do at this point. Feel free to double check the area though if you would like," N'Jobu propositioned his new partner. "Only thing left now is the southwestern quadrant and then we should be all finished with this mission. Let's get moving..." N'Jobu quickly summoned his kikaichū back from the remains of the dead shinobi they had just taken care of, sneakily sending off a female to latch onto his new partner so should they get separated he can quickly find him once more. He began to walk off towards the south western quadrant of the area, hoping his new partner would follow him. Once he was sure that his comrade was on his tail, he would pick up the pace and get into a little parkour fun to see if his partner was capable of keeping up with him. Even if he couldn't he would be able to find him quickly if he got lost or left behind once more.

"You know, you really should be a bit more vigilant out here. He could have killed you had I not restrained him," a young, exotic looking shinobi had told him while revealing himself from his cover. After introducing himself, N'Jobu informed Satoru that the only thing left to do was to check to south-western quadrant and the mission would be a success. It appears that N'Jobu's kikaichu had already cleared out most of the area, giving the young Namikaze a feeling that he did not have much to do on this mission concerning the flora. The Aburame genin had summoned his bugs back from the fresh corpse of the Sunagakure bandit that only moments ago posed a threat to Satoru's life.

The dread headed genin started walking in a south western direction of the area to do more scouting and clearing out. Sato did not bat an eye at any of the plant life as he knew for a fact that the swarm of bugs commanded by his partner did the job with a lot more efficiency than he ever could. Satoru's height surpassed that of N'Jobu's a bit, so he could see over his high color a bit, noticing a few bugs crawling on the genin's neck and down to his hands through his sleeves. "You know, the Aburame clan's special relationship to these bugs have always been fascinating to me. I read about your clan's heritage a bit and i must say, seeing these bugs up close and what they're capable of, jeez, you guys are really a force to be reckoned with." Satoru spoke to his partner in a light hearted manner, trying to open up a conversation with the boy. He folded his arms behind his head, stretching as he walked limbering up as both him and his partner, though relaxed in each others company, were very much on guard and paying close attention to their surroundings. They had just killed a man after being ambushed, there was no telling if he was alone. Walking through the ruins of the village, there was a lot of glass shards scattered about the sand and the wind picked up within the village soothed Satoru's lightly exposed body and made his top dance as his haori top couldn't close at the front of the torso like usual jacket tops.

As he moved toward their destination, he decided that he would eventually pick up the pace a little bit to a light trot to get through the task at hand a slight bit quicker. As he moved about, he heard the other nin speak up behind him. "You know, the Aburame clan's special relationship to these bugs have always been fascinating to me. I read about your clan's heritage a bit and i must say, seeing these bugs up close and what they're capable of, jeez, you guys are really a force to be reckoned with." he said as the two made their way to the southwest quadrant. N'Jobu couldn't help but to crack a smile at the compliment and simply responded back with a "Yeah..." in a nonchalant manner. They would soon reach their destination and N'Jobu would quickly scan the area to see what all needed to be done to complete their mission. He stopped for a moment to take in the surroundings and see just what was around, hoping his new genin comrade would do the same.

As he took in his surroundings, N'Jobu noticed scorpion the size of small dog wandering about. "I don't see much to do here other than take out the scorpion then we are done. Since you already got rid of the guy from before, I can handle that I suppose...Just sit back and chill if you like" he said walking towards the scorpion and leaving his comrade behind. He approached the scorpion cautiously as he didn't have his bow so he knew he would be a bit more careful then usual but luckily he had his trusty knife with him should be need it. He figured it would be much easier for his bugs to drain the life out of it before landing a final blow. He quickly formed a tiger seal and began to summon his kikaichū to hit finger tips forming a bullet like mass. Tilting his hand down towards the beast he took aim and fired his "gun", launching his kikaichū toward their target. Before the scorpion could react, the mass of bugs smacked into the scorpion with enough force to knock it back slightly while exploding the bullet of bugs all over the scorpion. The quickly went to work draining the life from the scorpion as it tried to fight violently to remove the parasites from its back. He watched as the beast began to slow its movements, losing its strength moment by moment. Once N'Jobu felt it was reasonable to proceed, he unsheathed his trusty knife and walked over to the beast. He commanded his kikaichū to hold down the beast so he wouldn't have to worry about being stung and then proceeded to drive his knife straight through its head, dropping it almost instantly. "Well,...that was something I suppose," he muttered to himself. He withdrew his knife from the corpse of scorpion and wiped it on his leg then placed it back into its sheath.

He walked back over to where the other genin was standing and began to speak up to his comrade, "Looks like that should be about it. I think we can probably call it a day on that note. You are welcome to double the area if you wish but I'm headed back to camp. I'm sure I'll see you around again. Later...". N'Jobu turned back towards the camp and sprinted off, flipping over some rubble and having a bit of parkour fun.

Satoru and the accompanying genin had reached to their destination in the southwest quadrant of sunagakure's ruins. They had come accross an average sized scorpion while roaming the ruins, "I don't see much to do here other than take out the scorpion then we are done. Since you already got rid of the guy from before, I can handle that I suppose...Just sit back and chill if you like", Satoru's partner told him before slowly starting in its general direction, gathering a mass of bugs at his fingertips and getting ready to fire it like a bullet at the animal. The young Namikaze had confidence that this minor threat would bear no real danger to either of them, seeing as the very capable Aburame clan shinobi had decided to take care of it. N'Jobu fired the small swarm of kikachi at the animal and hit it right on its head, making them disperse and gain a lot of coverage all over the scorpions body. They were attacking the animal, feeding off of it. N'Jobu did nothing for the period of time that the scorpion spent writhing in agony and struggling to fight back against the kikachi, but its fate was already sealed. The struggling slowed as N'Jobu unsheated a knife, approached it and thrusted it straight through the scorpions skull, killing it within a moment. The genin wiped the blood off of his knife, sheated it and returned to his partner.

N'Jobu walked back over to where the other genin was standing and began to speak up to his comrade, "Looks like that should be about it. I think we can probably call it a day on that note. You are welcome to double the area if you wish but I'm headed back to camp. I'm sure I'll see you around again. Later..." he said to Satoru as he sped off into the distance towards the camp, finding joy in leaping around and over obstacles in a very agile manner. Satoru stood there and watched the kikaichu leave the corpse and fly in N'Jobu's direction as the person himself was their home, their nest. He yelled in his partners direction, "Hey be careful out there, don't drop your guard for a minute." Satoru turned back, put his hands on his waist and scouted the area a bit further, knowing the the mission was over yet marveling at the ruins Sunagakure has been reduced to. He walked through the ruins for about 15 minutes before he said to himself "I gotta head back to the leaf, time is wasting and i might be needed". He gave a moment of silence for the man who's life he just took, before he headed back to the village. This was Satoru's first kill and he had taken it quite lightly, as immoral as it may seem, its quite a professional ninja trait.

As he ran from the spot he had left his temporary partner, he heard the young shinobi's voice in the distance, "Hey be careful out there, don't drop your guard for a minute." N'Jobu headed those words, as the area while relatively calm was still unpredictable. He continued to make his way through the glassed over rubble, double checking his work and making sure he hadn't missed any spots earlier in the day. As he flipped over a piece of rubble and landed squarely on a pillar ahead of him, he noticed a spot of land that had apparently been missed in his sweep. "Hmmm thats odd, I thought I cleared this area before. Oh well, let me just go handle this myself then," he mused to himself as he did as he did a gainer off of the pillar and landed on the sandy floor below. He quickly dusted himself off from the ploom of sand which had erupted as soon as he landed from his perch atop the pillar. He unsheathed his knife to cut down the last bush of flowers and began to walk towards it. As he got closer to the bush, he noticed a bit of rustling from behind it so he adjusted his blade in his hand to a reverse grip and prepared himself for whatever may have been hiding behind the the lush bush.

The closer he moved, the more the rustling became pronounced. He came within about 2 meters of the bush when another scorpion dashed out from underneath the bush, clamping its pincers together furiously. Thinking quickly, he commanded his trusted insects to thrust forward from his sleeve in like a spear. The force of the insects impacting against the hard exoskeleton of the scorpion made a loud thud noise as the scorpion itself was pushed aside and flipped on its back. Moving quickly before it could cause any harm, he grabbed the tail of the beast and drop his knife through it, twisting enough to break the end of and remove the the threat of being stung. The beast writhed out in pain, thrashing its entire body as it frantically tried to right itself from its unfavorable position. Without wasting another moment, N'Jobu thrust his knife into the head of the beast. Its bodily juices running down the blade and into the sand below as the life faded quickly from its body. "Well, hopefully there are no more of those...." whispered to himself under his breath with a slight tinge of annoyance. He pulled his blade from the corpse and wiped it on his pant leg before he walked over to the bush and promptly cut it down, releasing a bit of his anger by trashing the bush into small pieces. He placed his blade back into sheath and made another quick visual pass over the area to ensure that there were no other missed sections. Once he was happy with the review, he continued back towards the main camp flipping and tumbling like a mad man. "This was quite the lame mission to be honest, but hey I'm still getting paid for this so I can't complain too much," he lamented to himself.
