"Ugh!" Skye groaned as he went up one of Kumo's many mountains. He wasn't in the best of moods on this particular morning. His father woke him up rather early and told him he had to train. It was almost like he was replaying the moment in his head. He remembers his father opening the door quickly and pulling the blinds up. All Skye could see was the sun shining bright in his face and the silhouette of his father standing in front of him. Forced out of bed, he got ready for whatever his father had planned for him. The one thing he remembers that his father said was, “Today you’re working on your lightning ninjutsu.” A load of boring work is more like it. Skye would’ve preferred doing his own thing; maybe even find one of his squad mates. He has only seen one, but never met the other. Whatever the case, there was no skipping this training. His father sounded extremely serious about the training, and when he was serious, things got done.

Sighing, he slowly approached the peak of the mountain. He figured the best way he’d be able to practice alone was high up and where no one around could get harmed. The training would be purely lightning, so it seemed necessary to take precautions by training on a peak. Before he began his training, it only seemed reasonable to stretch. The first thing he worked on was his arms. He put each arm behind his head and pushed them down; each push caused a slight pop in his shoulder. Moving on to his legs, he kicked his leg out to the proper side and made sure both were limber. Finally, he moved on to his back and neck. His spine made a satisfying crack, as well as his neck. “Ah… Alright… Time to get started…” Taking a stance to prepare his basic lightning attacks, he exhaled and put both of his hands up. He focused his chakra and turned it into electricity. It sparked in his hand for a second, then released with a loud snapping noise. “Again…” Skye mumbled to himself. Once again, he did the exact same thing, this time, pouring more chakra into his hands. With the added chakra, the loudness of the bolt echoed down the mountain. It could have possibly reached the ears of some passerby, but wasn't loud enough to wake anyone.

Skye stopped for a moment and resumed a neutral stance. Bringing his hands up, he stared at them for a little while. Even though it didn't cause him any pain when releasing the lightning, he could still feel the slight tingle in his hands after it came out. Even though Skye was used to the feeling, it still made him wonder about how it actually felt to others. Normally he thought it would just feel like an extremely powerful static shock. He cracked his knuckles and stored the thought for another day. Getting the training done was his main priority for the day.

The bones in Sanosuke's body cracked as he stretched his body, it was early morning as he slowly awakened in his bed. Letting out a yawn, he creaked opened his eyes so he can look around his surrounding environments. Sure enough, Sanosuke found himself on his regular bed in the cave that he used as a home. When he tried to get up, he felt a small pinch of pain in his legs. By removing the blankets of his bed, Sanosuke saw that his left leg was still very much bandaged up tightly to restrain any sudden movements of his leg. While his leg like this, there was no way that Sanosuke could train in kenjutsu like this and he was still trying to get accustomed to the new large amounts of chakra that were now unlocked by the guru. Pathik didn't want Sanosuke to come back to the Durian tree for chakra control until Sanosuke had gotten accustomed to the new and large amounts of chakra that was coursing through his body.

As Sanosuke slowly gotten up from his bed, he started to change into his standard shinobi outfit. While he changed he began to think hard about what he should train in today. Before he stepped towards the closet to get his shoes, he loosened up the bandages in his left leg so that he may be able to walk with a bit less than a limp. The laces of his boots were loosened by Sanosuke before placing each of his feet in them, and he tied them. He tied his headband on his bicep before walking out of the cave; closing the leaves behind him before walking up the mountain trail of Kumo.

As Sanosuke walked, he concluded that it was about time to start his elemental training. True Sanosuke excelled in Raiton, hell it was his skills in Raiton that led to his late father's demise. But there was another skill that Sanosuke wanted to test out, he wanted another skill in the elements that will fortitude his attacking power. He was a swordsman and the element that would best strengthen a swordsman was wind chakra; the chakra nature that was made to cut and the ninja tool that was made to cut, it was an ideal combination for any swordsman wishing to strengthen their power. It was resolved that Sanosuke would try to learn Futon.

Finally, after what seemed like hours walking, Sanosuke finally reached a mountain top where the winds seemed to dance around Sanosuke. Each breezze of wind, kicked around Sanosuke and then flew away as though it was carried away by a large bird. He turned to look at the sky and to see the debris that was kicked up by the gust of wind. Something told him that training on this mountain top, where the winds themselves seemed to assembled would be the best place for him to begin his lessons in Futon. With each gust of wind, he felt more lightened as if he didn't have a strong enough resolve the winds would blast him off the mountains.

The sounds of lightning crackled through the air that had caused him to notice his hairs on the back of his head stand up due to the static. Automatically, Sanosuke believed that he was causing this disturbance in the air. Lightning popped around him, the snaps caused his ears to pop. But then as he looked around his body, there was no lightning that gathered around his body like it normally would when he concentrated lightning chakra around his body. But when he looked around his body there were wisps of chakra that began to sway around his body as though his body was carrying the mist itself. Taking in slow deep breaths, Sanosuke calmed the wind chakra that was gathering around his body.

When Sanosuke decided to investrigate the cause of the electric disturbance, he saw his friend Skye practicing Raiton. Lightning danced from his finger tips. He smiled at him and waved while approaching his chunin comrade "Yo Skye, I see you're doing elemental training as well. I'm thinking of training in futon myself considering that I'm in no shape to resume kenjutsu training" Sanosuke said as he approched his good friend.

Skye was about a second away from releasing another blast of lightning, but he quickly stopped when he heard a familiar voice behind him. Turning his head, he now confirmed that it was his friend’s voice. “Hey Sano! Yeah, I am trying to train my Raiton a little.” Having Sano here was possibly the best thing that could have happened at this moment. If no one had shown up, he would’ve been stuck on the top of a mountain randomly shooting lightning every which way. Now that he had someone he knew up there with him, there would definitely be a lot less boredom. Skye’s eyes seemed to drift down to Sano’s leg. The last time he saw his friend was in the hospital. He remembered that the injury was in a pretty bad condition, but it must’ve gotten better considering Sano was now here.

Hearing that Sano was thinking about practicing his element, Fuuton, made Skye even happier. Not only would Sano want to stay up here with him, he might get a bit of entertainment. Skye walked over to his friend and pat his back. “Thinking about training yours as well? This might be pretty nice. I won’t have to be all alone and bored up here thanks to you.” With a grin, he slowly guided Sano to where he was set up. With a nod, he walked back to his previous spot and prepared another lightning blast. Focusing the chakra yet again, he released it with another loud crack. He then turned his head to look over at Sano. He didn’t mean to look like he was showing off, but he did get interrupted on his last try. As a way of being friendly, he asked something that he was sure Sano would be happy with. “I’m pretty positive we can’t spar, seeing how your leg is still a bit, well, injured. So what do you want to do? I’m leaving it up to you.” He was giving Sano the option of what should be done next. It was the best thing he could have given Sano at the moment.

A spar didn't sound like a bad idea to Sanosuke, he needed to get his leg back into motion and a short spar might be up his alley. So long as Sanosuke didn't use the extra weight of his sword, he would be okay with a spar. If he remembered correctly, the doctor said for him not to put any extra weight on his leg or else his wound will never heal back up properly again. The doctor implied for him to not spar while his leg was still bandaged up. But that will be no fun at all. "No man we can spar, just hand to hand combat if that's okay with you." Sanosuke finally said to his friend Skye.

Although he wasn't a taijutsu specialist, maybe some hand to hand combat would be good for his elemental training. Also Skye wanted to train in raiton, the complete opposite nature that Sanosuke wanted to train in. He began stretching his arms first and then his legs, he made sure that he stretched out his left leg specifically if he got his leg wounded more in the spar Sanosuke would be beating himself up for weeks as he spent that extra time recovering and not training in kenjutsu. Getting into a stance, Sanosuke prepared himself for his friend to come at him. Usually while holding a sword, Sanosuke would just adjust his footing so his weight was more on his right foot. So he figured the same principle should apply to hand to hand fighting, just the speed of this specific stance will lose its power.

He smirked at Skye as he was finally content with the stance he was in, "I may have an injured leg, but I can still spar just fine" Sanosuke said with a smirk. He was anxious to fight and test his strength, ever since he was reclined to his bandaged foot. Now his leg, although not completely healed, was ready for a mild spar.

"Eh..." Skye tilted his head slightly to look at Sano's leg for a moment. It didn't look too bad, and Sano sounded pretty confident in himself when wanting to spar. It was a hard decision for Skye. If he hit his friend's leg with enough force, he could actually make the injury a whole lot worse than it was at that moment. The thoughts bounced around in Skye's head and made him worry for his friend's safety. He looked up at Sano and saw that he was giving off the impression that he really would want to go through with it. "Alright, Alright... I'll take you on for a spar. I'll make sure to avoid your leg as best as I can, but I can't make any promises." Skye reached down and grabbed his chain scythes. He then walked over to where he had set a few other things, such as his pouch and headband. The only reason his belongings were all in one area was because he didn’t want to accidentally destroy or damage anything when training. Something else that occurred to him was that because Sano was here and wanting to spar, he had more of a reason to keep them safe. Although they were all in a pile, he sit set a tiny rock barrier around it to keep the lighter stuff from flying off.

“Okay…” Skye said aloud while walking a good distance from Sano. “No Genjutsu from me, not like it would do too much to you. No weapons either. Sound fair?” He grinned and clenched his fists as he waited for a response from his friend. This spar would definitely be good considering it would force them to do without their main specialties.

It was a good thing that Sanosuke left his sword back at home, because if he did then he would have to bother with bending over to place his weapon down on the ground. But since he didn't bring it with him all he had to worry about was the kunai he had on his holster, which was on his left arm. As long as Sanosuke didn't whip it out during the spar, it really shouldn't be a problem. It was weird for him to fight without his weapon but he had to get used to it. "Since we're sparring to learn how to better control our elemental chakra, try focusing chakra around your body like a coat while we spar" Sanosuke told his friend. "I learned it from a reading in the library. It says that as long as you maintain the chakra coat, you're chakra control of your elemental chakra will increase."

Sanosuke decided it was time to show Skye what exactly he had meant. By focusing chakra around his body, his body was coated in a light layer of chakra that was barely visible but he still felt a small pulling sensation on his body. There was also a small gust of wind that seemed to be spinning around his body, the wind caused his hair to be swaying back and forth as he stood in his stance. "If I'm doing this right then I just need to keep this control of my wind chakra and I should get stronger with fuuton. Okay your turn Skye"

"Alright, let me try..." Skye closed his eyes and began focusing chakra around his body. An occasional spark came off as he concentrated harder and harder. the thin layer eventually covered every inch of his body, except for his hands, legs, and head. His hair was standing up slightly and he obviously knew it was going to be a challenge keeping the electric layer up while moving around. Skye took a few steps forward and could already feel the layer lessening. Coming to a complete stop, he focused on the layer and reformed it. "Damn... This is kind of hard." Now that he knew how sensitive the layer was, he would have an easier time of balancing out the layer's control and his own movements. "How about you go first? You seem to know more about it than I do. Plus, you're the one that's helping me." Skye grinned and took a defensive stance. The electric current was still crackling around his body.

The way the lightning crackled around Skye's body, the static caused the air to be fizzled with lightning. Although it was just a small bit of lightning that was being gathered around his friend Skye, it was enough to cause the hair on the back of Sanosuke's neck to stand up. Wind from his own chakra pushed his hair back into its proper place and back into the swaying motion. Sanosuke felt the static in the air that radiated from Skye's shaky chakra coat. The coat from Skye's chakra couldn't be visible to Sanosuke's eyes but he could feel the lightning in the air. And just from the feel of Skye's lightning, Sanosuke could tell that his Raiton needed more work; if his lightning chakra was more trained then the feeling in that air that was caused by the lightning would be more chaotic and filled with more static in the air.

But I guess that what can be expected from someone that doesn't specialize in chakra flow, Sanosuke would have to work around Skye's inability to form chakra properly. It was then that Sanosuke decided to pump more chakra into his body to cause the wind to be more ecstatic; wind whistled around his body more than ever causing his hair and clothes to become more rustled. As he pumped more chakra into his chakra coat, the formation of the chakra coat that Sanosuke wrapped himself around with began to get undone and unstable. Sanosuke cursed himself for not getting used to the new amount of chakra that was being transferred into his body, but unfortunately he had to get used to it and fast.

With a deep breath, Sanosuke calmed down the unstable chakra coat and reeled it in so it was a more stable gust of wind that was covering his body. "Okay well since it's your first time doing this and I'm better at you than doing this, then I'll attack you and you defense got it?" Sanosuke suggested as he leaned more into his stance. It was time for Sanosuke to stop talking and get into some serious fighting. "We'll get into a spar once you get more familiar with the exercise."

Dashing at Skye with his wind chakra, he made sure to regulate the coat in his chakra so that it moved with every step he took. It was harder to walk and maintain his chakra coat's composure than it was to maintain the chakra coat while he stood still. He wasn't even half way towards Skye before he felt himself panting lightly; the distance between him and Skye wasn't even that much of a distance but Sanosuke was getting winded. This is a lot harder than I thought Sanosuke complained mentally as he ran. When he got close enough to Skye, Sanosuke threw a simple punch to Skye's face. Both Sanosuke and Skye's chakra clashed when they were that close to each other. Skye's lightning chakra was popping in the air and Sanosuke's wind chakra whipped around the air that surrounded both of them.

Skye could judge that he needed a bit more chakra put into his electric layer. He was going to be defending against Sano’s wind chakra after all. If Skye remembered correctly, he was at a disadvantage when it came to this small spar. It was the general affinity of the chakra natures. The more chakra he poured into his layer, the more unstable it became. It was strong, but enough force from Sano could easily counter it. His friend was the one with the superior knowledge of the training, as well as the favorable element. Skye looked up at Sano to see that he was beginning to rush at him. Not only that, but he had one tightly clenched fist and it was heading straight for his face. Putting his arms up at the last moment, he blocked the punch. The force of the punch was enough to make Skye skid backwards a few inches. A few seconds went by as the two chakra’s seemed to collide and grind against one another. The sparks he was creating caused his hair to stand up on end, while Sano’s wind caused his clothing to ruffle slightly. Things seemed about even at first, but they quickly took a turn for the worse on Skye’s behalf.

Skye felt his layer start to diminish quickly from lack of concentration. As hard as he tried, he couldn’t seem to counter Sano’s force. Pushing more chakra forward, it eventually overloaded and cut off completely. Because of this, Skye was flown backwards just from the sheer force of Sano’s concentrated wind charka. Hitting the ground and skidding back a foot and a half, Skye clenched his fists and stood up. “Ow…” He groaned as he brought one hand up to rub the back of his head. It looked as though he had hit it during his fall. His injury wasn’t too bad, but it still hurt nonetheless. As soon as Skye looked over at his arm, he noticed the medical wraps on his arm was torn slightly. Three strands of it fluttered in the remnants of Sano’s wind. “Whoa… Guess this is done…” Ripping the wraps off, he slowly walked to Sano. Figuring his wraps needed to be changed anyway, he removed both of them. His arms had a few scars on them, but they didn’t look like they were from a blade. Skye cracked his knuckles and nodded once. “Alright… You win round one, but now I think it’s my go.” It was kind of funny actually. Skye had shaken off the blow quite quickly. Once his friend was fully prepared, he would take another stance, but this time, one that looked more offensive than defensive. The layer technique wasn’t really working for him, least not when he was against his opposite element. He decided on a more direct approach this time around.

The clash from the two chakra natures left Sanosuke skidding on the floor; dirt was being kicked up as he was sent flying backwards from the blow. As he watched Skye struggle to get back up from the ground, Sanosuke looked at him with interest. Although Skye wasn't skilled much in Raiton, the force of the blast left Sanosuke being charged with Raiton. If it wasn't for the wind chakra coat that Sanosuke had wrapped around his body, he would have most likely been left with a nasty after shock. The wind whipped around Sanosuke, his wind pushing back the electrical discharge that was in the air. With each static pop that the static caused, his wind chakra coat shivered in form. If he stayed in this spot for much longer, he would most likely blow his concentration that he needed to maintain his wind chakra coating; and if that happened then well he would have a nasty electrical discharge to deal with.

Sanosuke hopped away from the spot he was in and just out of the range of the static discharge. As he jumped, he noticed that the wind chakra that he used as a coating was slowly being undone. He needed his chakra coat to be stronger or else he would have to recreate his chakra coat all over again. But as he tried to maintain it, the chakra coat disintegrated. The process left Sanosuke breathless and tired. He was heaving from his effort he maintain his increase in chakra; unlike Skye, Sanosuke had to gain chakra control with more chakra than his friend. He needed to gain control over this new massive amount of chakra or else chakra control would be difficult to master.

Beads of sweat that was plastered on Sanosuke's forehead was wiped by his own sleeve. This elemental chakra control training really did make him break a sweat. Getting himself in a more comfortable stance, he got ready for Skye to come at him. Wind began to pick up around Sanosuke's body as he spread another coat of wind chakra around him. He wouldn't make a big coat of chakra like he did last time; just enough for him to manage the chakra. "I'm ready when you are Skye. Come at me with everything you got" Sanosuke proclaimed as he decided now was an appropriate time to pump more chakra into his coat. This caused more wind to swell around his body, the winds swished around Sanosuke more violently.

Skye was not a big fan of focusing the chakra around himself like a coat, but he did see that it was helping him improve his chakra control. He was pretty good at it already, but only when using a genjutsu. The fact that his clan was a genjutsu based one helped back that fact up even further. However, that meant that the elemental prowess was only average. Skye shook his head and began to focus on creating another layer of chakra. It was a little more stable this time. He remained still and waited till he was able to stabilize his chakra. Once he was done doing so, he channeled the layer towards his upper body and arms. He mainly focused on his arms though. “Alright Sano… Get ready for this.” Inhaling deeply, he clenched his fists together and ran in a straight path towards Sano. His plan of attack was quite simple. Skye would dash forward until he was about two feet in front of his friend. Right after that, he would jump into him. Using the layer on his arms and the force from the jump, he would push Sano back. It wouldn’t be too big of a hit, but it would be just enough to knock one off balance.

Skye seemed to have a somewhat confident expression while attacking. It was almost like he believed his attack could break through Sano’s layer. It was certainly a possibility, but would be quite hard considering the nature of both chakras. The added force of a jump gave him even more of an edge. His main focus was on making a contact with Sano and quite possibly knocking him down. He still kept a constant check on his chakra to see if it was stable and controlled. If it overloaded, it would backfire and send him flying like the last time he tried.

The wind began to swirl violently around Sanosuke's body as he glared at Skye. The chakra in Sanosuke's body was flowing around his chakra coat. He was going to take up his words close to heart and go in all out against his friend's lightning chakra. This massive amount of chakra that Sanosuke was dealing with was beginning to take his toll on his body. As he tried to run chakra through his body, there would be a massive fluctuation of chakra that Sanosuke would try his best to repress into his chakra coat. Pathik wasn't kidding when he said that his chakra flow was no where near the level of perfection; even if Pathik had unlocked his full potential of his chakra system. It was proving to be more of a burden than a gift.

Sanosuke's clothes whipped around his body as he focused more and more chakra into his chakra coating that was wrapped around him. He then noticed that Skye was coming closer and closer to him, his own chakra was beginning to pop violently with lightning chakra as he ran at him. Then Skye did something Sanosuke didn't expect; he jumped in mid air. It turns out that he was going to use gravity in the assist to strengthening his chakra charged attack against Sanosuke. But no way in hell was he going to lose now. More, more, more Sanosuke thought to himself as he focused more chakra into his chakra coat. Wind whipped around his face to the point where he was beginning to get slight cuts around his face.

He took a leap upwards to meet Skye's downwards strike with a frightening collision of chakra. Sanosuke's wind met with Skye's lightning chakra. They were opposites in chakra nature and yet they were pushing each other back and forth in mid air as equals. There was no doubt that collision between their 2 chakra types would be more collosal if they had used their primary chakra elemental types. "I'm not losing yet Skye, not now!" Sanosuke roared as he exploded his chakra into his body causing his body to explode in whirlwind of chakra. There was a blast that caused an explosion between the two chakra types. The explosion was large enough to send both Sanosuke and Skye to separate corners of the training grounds.

Sanosuke began panting to himself, the chakra coat around him diminished from the clash that he shared with Skye. The effort was draining on his body, he was beginning to see stars. Not a good sign, it meant that he was out of chakra. Damn this guru, Sanosuke cursed in his head as he tried to get up but to no avail. "Damn it" Sanosuke mumbled to himself aloud as he rest laying down on the ground.

Skye felt that Sano was pushing back against him, so in order to counter back, he tightened his fist and increased his chakra. He could feel the force being brought by both him and his companion. Not only that, but he could also feel his own force becoming slightly lessened with each passing moment. Skye could here Sano say a quick statement as they kept at it.

"I'm not losing yet Skye, not now!"

As a response, Skye grinned and yelled back. "Bring it!" The two chakras started to grind against each other. As this continued on, the tension between both powers eventually broke and caused an explosion of chakra. This sent Skye flying backwards once more. His back hit the ground and he skid back a few feet. Lucky for him, he had his flack jacket on. The sliding didn't hurt him much because of it. As soon as he stopped, he seemed to just lay there and look up at the sky. Skye began to burst out with laughter. It was rather funny to him that they both went flying back. Another thing that was funny was the fact that he had no chakra left. Slowly getting to his feet and ceasing his laughter, he called over to Sano. "You alright buddy?"

Skye was about done with training. Being without chakra or anything new to try was also a reason to stop. Walking over to his pile of belongings, he picked up each one and put them on. First was his headband, then his chain scythes, and finally his pouch. After retrieving what was his, he walked over to Sano and grinned. "Thanks for working on this with me, but I'm all out of chakra. Exhausted too..."

Sanosuke laughed, though the chakra he expanded was a lot more than he was prepared to let out. Throughout the entire exercise, he was radiating more and more chakra than necessary. It was beginning to have a tiresome effect on his body from just using his chakra coat. It got to the point where he had trouble getting up, taking in a deep breath, Sanosuke struggled to get back on his feet. "Yeah no problem Skye. My legs feel like jello man. We should do this again sometime." Sanosuke suggested as he raised his fist in front of Skye's face. He smirked at his friend. It was because of Skye that his wind chakra was taken to the next level.

Skye stretched his arms up and rolled them back. His arms popped with each slight movement. He was sore from the spar, that much was clear. "Well... I'm probably going to work on some new jutsu soon... Well... Maybe not now... I'm a little... ugh..." He sighed and laughed a little bit. Sano's fist was raised up and stuck in front of his face. His mind immediately brought him back to the moment in the hospital. It was the exact same farewell that Sano had given him there. Lifting his fist up in the same way, he pushed it forwards and made contact with Sano's. "I'll see you later then Sano." With that last sentence, he turned and left. The training was very beneficial considering his electricity chakra was much more focused and less erratic.
