Verdandi had jumped about Kiri, speeding with newfound strength through the tree tops. Over roofs and gliding along alleys like she was ice skating. She started to like this place. There was certainly a heavy lack of snow. A disturbing one even. But considering the stories she heard about her auntie Aya it'd be best not to wish for any overly terrain changing accidents. Going by the rumours present it might just happen...

But one thing bothered her after all. This nasty mist. It was everywhere. Seemed to follow you like a bad habit. If she couldn't enjoy to roll around in her joyfully icy snow, she could at least use some fun time under sunshine for a change. Eventually she seemed to have found a clearing by the lake shore. People were passing by and she could see some badass shinobi going all nuts with their training in the distance. Finding some sort of wooden training doll that seemed abandoned for now, the view of all that intense training got her all riled up. Pulling her katana from it's leathery makeshift sheath, she'd get ready and into the usual starting pose for her Kenjutsu. Lifting it far above her head, firm grip with two hands. Aiming straight for that nasty training dummy's neck. Gonna show them! Yaaay!

Cutting some big scars into the wooden surface, she's actually enjoying sweating for this. It felt like old paps training her all over again. But doing this with a dummy got pretty boring rather quickly and her skills seemed not to impress anyone at this point. So instead of going the traditional way. She tried to go for mum's approach on things. Using the snow country's traditional sword dance..... not that it had any deeper value in actual battle technique but if surely looks sweet and certainly was a good way to stretch those limbs a bit. Not like anyone was actually watching her for real. Right?

Fuyuko had taken it upon herself to not stay inside of her house whenever Takao was not around. The butterflies in her stomach made her miss him too much whenever she was home and he wasn’t there. So whenever he was out and about for reasons he couldn’t disclose with her so would she be. However she would be outside to enjoy the feeling of being outside and to try and suppress those feelings of longing for him. Today was a particularly misty day, but Fuyuko didn’t mind it. All types of weathers were ones she could appreciate and see the value in. So she took a blissful stroll through it until she’d end up somewhere. There was no direction in which she was headed, she was just walking and enjoying nature.

Slowly but surely the fog that had been covering the distant view would clear up. Until the fog would eventually completely clear up. Right about the same time she’d break free from the tree line and find herself at a lake. The soft breeze that was blowing here created small ripples on the water surface which made it look like the water was dancing in the early afternoon sun. It was a lovely sight to behold and Fuyuko decided that she wanted to appreciate it more. So she climbed up one of the near by trees and sat down on one of the branches and just watched the waters and the people that walked by it.

After some time had passed a young lady would come by and stop at one of the training dolls that was stationed near the waterside. They would pull out their katana and start swinging away at it. However even to Fuyuko’s limited knowledge about the skills of Bukijutsu she could tell they weren’t all too familiar with the way of the sword. There wasn’t too much Fuyuko could do to help them out, however she still felt the need to see if she could help out in a way. So she jumped out of the tree and walked up to the girl. “Hey there, how is the training going?” she asked with a gentle smile on her face. “Is there anything I could potentially help with?

Hearing a voice in the back of her head at a crucial moment as this, or rather an embarassing one? Her dance was certainly a sight to behold for mothers and fathers that would eventually take pride in their daughters artistic display. However for professionals in the line of business that shinobi would tend to deal in.... this wasn't quite what raised confidence in most viewers. Never the less, the intruder gave nothing away that'd seem judgemental in any way. Being lost to the conservative teachings of her parents, Dandi would 'sheath' her Katana back where it came from and politely bow as noble young ladys should.

"Hello there Miss... uhm..?"

While she was waiting for the strangers name, Dandi couldn't help but get lost in her usual trance. Her eyes would scan the new entity from head to toe. Intensely cute face, not mentionable curves and yet a smile that could melt glaciers. Verdandi's empathy reacted pretty quickly on this one. The woman was exhaling if not glowing in a radiance that was practically shining in blinding fashion onto Dandi's natural ability. It made Dandi cringe in ways not mentionable. So much cute and joyful feelings. Verd would have to kill a unicorn somewhere on her way home to get rid of all this shiny joy that was swarming her feelings.

Having decided that it was probably for the better not to stay too long in this persons head. Dandi shook her head and tried to suppress any further empathic readings. It seemed pretty hard though as the stranger was exhaling her happiness in seemingly every breath. It was heart warming. Beautiful and utterly annoying to the stoic princess. Anyhow, Verdandi had manners. This awefully happy stranger was offering help and this called for respect. Eventually she could be persuaded for a little sparing match? The young Genin was itching for a little matchup....

"Well my partner here seems to have an endurance that can barely be matched but he's awefully slow... mind to give me a more realistic chance to test my skills? My blade is as dull as it could probably be so theres not much that can go wrong anyhow...."

Sliding the weapon back out from it's makeshift sheath and staring at it unimpressed.... but it'd eventually do it's job and help Dandi train for when she had the shiny coins to get the good one. Despite the irritating nature of her new 'friend' she was indeed thankful to get some social interaction anyway. Kiri can get quite boring if you live on your own. Not that she'd ever admit to being a lonely lazy piece of.... But that's another story.

When Fuyuko had closed the gap between them the girl would speak up herself and greet her. But was left hanging because she had no clue how to address Fuyuko. “Ah my bad, my name is Fuyuko Miki, what about yours?” Fuyuko patiently and quietly observed the lady that was standing in front of her while they were doing the same to her. It made her wonder that was going on inside of the ladies mind as they seemed to be in deep thought. When they eventually shook their head seemingly randomly. Fuyuko thought it was most likely because they tried to rid themselves of a certain trail of though, something she was prone to doing herself.

Fuyuko would let out a small chuckle about the comment that Verdandi made about the training dummy. But she was a bit surprised that she wanted to go for a spar and use that as a means to train. She did offer to help in anyway possible so there wasn’t much helping it. However before they could initiate the spar Fuyuko would need to know a little bit more about her sparring partner. “Yeah sure, I’m willing to help you out with a bit of a spar. But before we can start our little match there are a few things I’ll need to know first. How far do you want to take the spar? Do you want to merely try and strike me, do you want me to retaliate as well with little force or a decent amount of force? Basically, what do you want me to do in this spar?” Fuyuko would patiently await the reply of the young lady and mentally prepare herself for the task that was about to happen.

When she would receive the answer from Vardandi she would take a few more steps backwards. She’s pull on the sleeves of her shirt and pull them all the way up to just past her elbows, revealing her scar on her left arm. With sleeves taken care of she’s reach down for her pouch and grab a singular kunai out of it. Now with a kunai in her left hand she got in a stance ready to any kind of tactic that Verdandi might throw at her. “I’m ready whenever you are.” Fuyuko proclaimed with a little bit of excitement visible on her face. It was fun to have a ‘playful’ spar like this. Fuyuko enjoyed this much more than the rigorous stuff they made her go through at death camp.

Verd would bow again in similar fashion as before, a display of manners seemed to be crucial to her. Especially now that she felt a bit guilty to have judged the friendly girl for her radiant mood. "Verdandi Kōri, pleased to make your acquaintance Miki-senpai." Verd would once again glare at her potential sparing partners frame. It didn't take much to see and feel that this person was her senior in rank and experience. And the scar could imply that she had seen some serious battles by now too. It seemed unlikely that any match of this kind would be equal or fair if they actually went all out on it. Yet for Dandi it was clear she also didn't want to be taken as a weak little doll that couldn’t take a bruise or two.

As someone who didn't seem to be hindered by an overly large ego or pride the size of a water dragon, she didn't mind to accept Fuyuko's superiority from the get go. "I am sure you could teach me a lot Miss, please go easy on me." This being said she started analysing her opponents sparing position. She realized that a normal Kenjutsu offense wouldn’t do much good here. Her senpai’s superior reaction would take care of any attack that could be seen from afar. With an idea in mind she slid her katana back into it’s leathery makeshift sheath but didn’t lock it in place. Her only option was to surprise and eventually catch her opponent off guard. She slid off her eye patch, keeping it in her palm and making it vanish in one of her long sleeves, both eyes fixed on the target, giving off a very determined glare, she went into her knees and launched off.

Anything from this point had to be accomplished within but a few seconds. Speeding straight for her opponent, she slid her own kunai from her left sleeve, holding it visibly for a split second, she wanted Fuyu to look at it. To concentrate on it and just about 2 meters before they would eventually clash she would toss the kunai forth.

It was yet not aimed to hit Fuyuko. Her superior reaction would have easily taken care of it, the kunai would fly down aiming between Fuyu’s legs. The one thing Verd was counting on, was that Fuy would either back off or at least look at the projectile in order to figure out what was happening.

This would open a potential window of about a 2 second for Verdandi to act. From her other sleeve the eyepatch would drop back out. Slid forth and Verd’s palms quickly slid together. Fūton: Nagare! Verd exhaled the powerful stream of wind straight forward. While the technique itself had no specific offensive properties, other then maybe pushing Fuy back a bit, the main plot would be revealed as the eyepatch suddenly gained momentum and was turned into a makeshift projectile aiming straight at Fuy’s face.

The time frame of all of this eventually taking too long was over. Both distractions executed the final part of the plot was Verd’s palm going to her unlocked katana pulling on it to directly slice towards Fuy’s belly while unsheathing. As unlikely the chance was that it’d hit Verd wanted to make sure that Fuy wouldn't be able to just sit back and play with her hair in this fight.

A-rank
It surprised Fuyuko a bit how much manners the young lady was showing towards her. It wasn’t really a normal thing since she had moved to the village that she was addressed with manners. While she had always really be the younger one or lower ranked one and thus addressed the others with formalities, but it felt a little bit weird to be on the receiving end. It made her cheeks light up a little bit from embarrassment, but she didn’t mind it all too much either. “Pleased to meet you as well Verdanadi” she said while making a small bow of her own.

The way that Verdandi answered her question was somewhat weird however. She didn’t say what she wanted from her, merely that Fuyuko should go easy on her. Which felt somewhat weird and more of a deception then anything else. She was so eager to get a spar out yet she wanted to be treated gently. Fuyuko wouldn’t make a mention of it and just keep in mind that Verdandi was most likely going to full-out on her. She would simply just a watchful eye out for what her opponent was going to do, not going to make the first move herself and instead just react to whatever was thrown her way and potentially punish the moves if they were to wide open.

Verdandi removed her eye patch, which came as a small surprise to her. Fuyuko thought the eye patch was there because she had trouble seeing with that eye or had some sort of medical condition. It made her wonder why she did wear the eye patch, but that bit of curiosity would need to be contained for later. Since a kunai would slide out of the other sleeve as she closed the gap between the two of them. With a swift motion the kunai was send flying towards her, however the trajectory of the kunai would make it evident it wasn’t a throw meant to hurt her, but a throw to force a certain movement out of Fuyuko. It got Fuyuko intrigued and so she decided to play along with the game of tag, jumping lightly about 3 meters backwards.

While jumping backwards the eye patch appeared again from the sleeve it was hidden in and tossed up as Verdandi seemed to exhale something. Hehe, I was right. She wasn’t going to mind if Fuyuko showed a little bit of her strength. She thought to herself. A strong stream of wind would be blown against her sending her another 2 meters further back then planned. It also turned the eye patch into a projectile which was flying straight for her face. However the speed of the eye patch was slow, the gush of wind wasn’t all that strong after all. Which gave Fuyuko ample time to react to it and simple just duck underneath the eye patch and letting it fly past her.

The plan that Verdandi was going for wasn’t bad. Distract the opponent with things as you set them up for the real thing. It could’ve probably worked on someone that was more of a match for her skills but using such a tactic against someone of a higher rank was almost futile. Further even if she was of the same rank, the distractions she would have to throw her way would have to be real threats. Not a peace of cloth and an off-aimed kunai. “Lesson number one.” Fuyuko started talking as she firmly planted her foot on the ground and propelled herself towards Verdandi. “Make every move you make a threat in one way or another, one that could actually harm your opponent.” She said as she used the kunai in her left hand to block the swing from the katana. Her right hand at the same time reached out for Verdandi’s chest. If her flat hand would connect with her chest it would send Verdandi flying backwards about two meters and cause some light bruising.

With Verdandi being staggered backwards she’d jump backwards herself again. Fuyuko wasn’t one to really keep up the offense anyway, she much preferred reacting to what other did and playing it more defensive. However she would still make an offensive move, but just from a distance. Grabbing three shuriken with her right hand and tossing them instantly towards Verdandi’s location. One of them was flying straight for her neck, another one was flying towards the left of her head and the last one to the left of her arm at about stomach height. The shuriken that were flying wide only did so at about 10 centimeters. They all traveled at about 12 m/s. Which should still be enough time for Verdandi to notice their trajectory and be able to dodge them. While making those moves Fuyuko would speak up again. “If you don’t dodge it’s going to hurt. I also blocked off one of your ways of dodging, forcing you into a certain kind of way of protecting yourself.” When the shuriken had traveled half the distance and Verdandi would try to dodge the shuriken by ducking Fuyuko would throw her kunai at Verdandi’s intestines with a speed of 24 m/s. Trying to punish her for choosing the defensive option which left her most vulnerable.

Verd's eyes followed her senior’s movements. It didn't matter if any of her plan would come to fruit as long as she could learn something. This meant for the young ice princess to keep track of every motion Fuy would do. Trying to memorize it in her long term memory as to when the time would come she'd naturally behave the same way. First off Fuyuko behaved as anticipated. Evading the first diversion with a simple spin backwards. The wind added to the movement, stretching it out further than originally planned. Maybe this could be used in future if Verd ever wanted to push someone into some sort of trap maybe. Seeing her opponent duck, she could see that yet, the eye patch would pass Fuy very closely. In a combat that was about life and death this would be a wonderful opportunity if Verd had actually taped an explosive tag to her eye patch. She could literally feel the explosion hit her target in her head.

Verd was yet not allowed to linger too long in potential tactics as Fuy was about to react. Dandi had never sparred with anyone above her rank other than the academy teachers and those guys always ended up as teachers because they weren't the violent type or any kind of prodigy warriors. Fuy's movements were far more refined and tuned to battle. It was to no surprise other than Verdandi's that her opponents speed was far above then what she had anticipated. Being able to block the slice was not unexpected, but Verd thought she could adjust her attack within moments note to keep the offense. But there was no time for this. Fuy's palm touched Dandi's chest before she could even think of evading it. The impact that seemed to be of little force from Fuy's point of perspective met with the body of a rather untrained shinobi. Sending Dandi flying backwards, not too far but the force itself left Verd breathless for many seconds that would naturally be crucial in a serious fight. Luckily Fuy moved backwards instead of lingering in the offense. If she had gone for close combat, it'd have been over already. Verdandi grit her teeth together. Despite not being one of utter pride it was still gnawing at her to see the intense difference in skill. But there was no time for self pity at this point.

Verdandi stood her ground, inhaled to make up for the breath she lost during impact, shook off the pain of being hit and showed a deep determination on her face. Her eyes closely followed Fuys movements and the shuriken that were sent forward. Despite being a newbie, she was still a ninja, able to calculate the potential point of impact on all three projectiles. Neck and stomach hits would turn the spar into a quick need for medical attention, the one going for her arm would have left a bare cut and was... expendable to say at least. Yet she had no intention to let any of them hit her. Fuy had far more possibilities to actually harm Verdandi, she wasn't going to let such a minor move be a threat.

Shifting her body to the right at her highest capable speed proved to be just about enough to evade the projectiles, even though one of them would cut off a strand of hair that was still in Verd's original position, reminding Dandi that only a second or two were between the evasion and her being actually hit on all three accounts. The situation had forced plenty of adrenaline into Verd's body, her heart was beating and she found herself in more for what she had bargained for. Verd still had a technique or two up her sleeve but she needed to be smart about it. The lake would prove to be the most crucial part of her plan but she would need to make it there without Fuy beating the crap out of her. Trying to force Fuy to come towards the lake would probably not work out even if Verd would use a dozen wind gushes to roll her opponent there... but maybe she could persuade her opponent to join Verd's path.

Dandi was sure she could make her way towards the lakes edge before projectile or Fuy herself could reach her. It was too close by, but she had to start both running and initiating her next technique. As she moved over the grass she'd eventually reach the lakes corners. Holding her palm to her lips as she'd aim. Suiton: Mizurappa! Splashing the stream of water into Fuy's direction. Specifically aiming at her stomach. If Fuy had decided to take the bait, Verd would necessarily have to defend herself for close combat impact. Lifting her Katana defensively in front of her. If her opponent would stay at distance this could eventually prove to be more difficult and she'd have to run out onto the lake under the common use of the "Supernatural Walking Practice". Either way. Verd would take this fight to the lake unless Fuy wanted to go home ~

The speed at which Fuyuko moved towards Verdandi seemed too much for her, there wasn’t enough time for her to react to the movements that came her way and palm to her chest was an easy hit. The shuriken that followed however were properly dealt with by Verdandi which but a small smile on Fuyuko’s face. Now it was time to see what other plan the young lady would come up with to attack her. Fuyuko simply gazed at the movements of the opponent as she made her way to the edge of the lake. As they did so they made the preparations for a jutsu that Fuyuko was quite familiar with. It was the water trumpet technique. As Verdandi made the motion for the technique so did Fuyuko for her own technique, weaving the signs Monkey, Snake, Rat and putting a little bit extra chakra into the technique before putting her hands down onto the floor.

When the water stream that came from Verdandi’s mouth would come in range of the seal a pillar of chakra would erupt from it and the water stream would be soaked up in it. Making it seem like it disappeared into thin air. “Lesson number two.” Fuyuko would say loudly. “Hide your plans from your opponent, don’t make them too obvious.” With the words spoken Fuyuko would release the water trumpet from the chakra column and headed straight for the location that Verdandi was standing still at. A defensive stance with her katana might help a little bit if Fuyuko went for a physical fight but it wouldn’t help even the slightest bit if jutsu’s were sent flying at her. However Fuyuko would still go for the physical fight, but just hidden under the guise of the trumpet.

With the trumpet flying back towards Verdandi, Fuyuko would set off again and run right behind it. Quickly weaving the signs Boar, Serpant, Hare, Ox and Serpant as she did so. Fuyuko would react to however Verdandi was planning on dealing with the water trumpet technique. If she dodged in anyway Fuyuko would simply run in that direction. Would Verdandi choose to block the trumpet with a jutsu of her own there would probably be very little to no time for her to react to Fuyuko’s physical movements. In either case Fuyuko would try to touch Verdandi high up on any of her limbs; close to their shoulder or hip. This so that her limb restriction technique would be most effective. But if possible Fuyuko would prefer to land the technique on either of her opponents legs so that movement for them was practically impossible. To make it not too obvious what her goal was Fuyuko would however still throw punches and kicks in there. All of her attacks would have enough force to give Verdandi minor to moderate bruising and some of them strong enough to push her back. Fuyuko was interested to find out how they would struggle themselves out of this situation.

Verdandi

Verdandi

D-rank
Verdandi would lose. It was a simple calculation. She had known it from the moment their difference in speed and strength had been measured. But this wouldn't go down the way Fuy had in mind. Verdandi wouldn't go down without going all out with whatever pathetic strength a genin could muster up once determined to push all existent power, both physically and chakra wise in one last resort of attack. After all. What Fuy had tutored her would be shown that Verd had learned her lessons both of them.

The seal was something she could not have predicted and yet it didn't break her plan at all. It would actually turn into the last disguise of the whole plan. Fuy clearly expected Verdandi to try her most futile chance to dodge the incoming attack. Yet the most powerful weapon of a weaker opponent was to make use of the clear difference in strength and tap on to that very vulnerability that made Fuy underestimate the capabilities that came within the advantage of environment. The very moment Fuy was busy with her counter towards the water trumpet Verd made use of the seconds given to do two things. First she would have melded her wind chakra and filled her belly with as much air as anyhow possible and the second was, Dandi jumped a bare minimum into the air. As the water trumpet was about to hit she exhaled loudly Fūton: Nagare! The impact of the opposing water, combined with the motion force of her wind release directly affected the fact that Verdandi had jumped a bit and started to quickly propel her backwards away from her enemy that was just a hair away from completely knocking her immobile. Furthermore, the intense gush of wind as well as the water that came into collision with the wind stream was shouted onto Fuy's face and would naturally force her down to the lake. Verdandi had calculated the previous effect her technique had on her opponent and was sure the slight difference in height made sure that Fuy's body would either forcefully crash onto the water surface or if she was as skilled as expected she'd be forced to somehow catch her footing on the surface itself. Anyhow the impact wave would force the opponents apart from each other, which in its sense was the only actual part of the plan. To reach the lake and to create a minimal distance between each other. The final piece of the puzzle was to be revealed. Cause as the mess of clashing wind and water would subside an ever-growing shadow was already forming over the pond. Verdandi was forcing every last bit of the chakra she could come up with into her most favoured technique which had certainly enough power in it to be a threat that even the chuunin had to reckon it as such.

Hyōton: Kōri no Yari! The large shadow forming over the pond was an ice spear the size it could only have been fuelled by an environment as the lake itself. Under normal circumstances Dandi would have to rely on supplemental techniques to conjure any kind of minimal water to even barely create a sizeable matter of ice. But the lake was her final trump card. It fed the C ranked technique to over fatten itself into proportions barely controllable for a ninja of Verdandi's still questionable skill level. But it was enough. It'd suffice. It'd be a display of her determination. And as she screamed her final seal to make the huge ice spear drop she muttered. "Lesson number one, make every move you make a threat in one way or another." With this being said, the spear would not only launch down to eventually freeze the lake on contacts, but the spear itself would be directly aimed at Fuyuko herself.

This being completed. Verdandi being drained of endurance, energy and willpower, she would be found falling from the sky towards the lake. Maybe.... if she could muster enough strength to do so she could find herself able to catch footing with the water walking technique. If not, she'd simply fall into the lake. It didn't matter to her. Whatever she could have thrown at her opponent. She had already done so.

Chakra 105/150:

Fuyuko

Fuyuko

A-rank
Fuyuko ran after the redirected water trumpet. Using the obstruction of the technique to get her limb restriction technique ready. With her next moves set in motion it was merely waiting to see how the young lady was going to deal with the situation. It was probably a bit cocky of Fuyuko to expect that Verdandi was going to move the way she had planned it in her head. And indeed her opponent did not move the way that she had planned it all out. A deep breath followed up by an exhale were the moves made by Verdandi. A short burst of wind now came flying in Fuyuko’s direction in an attempt to block the trumpet technique. It wasn't strong enough to slow the technique to a halt but it was enough to almost half its speed. Which would give Verdandi more than enough time to initiate her own counter again.

With the water technique having slowed down it was only a matter of seconds before Fuyuko would still end up getting wet from the technique, but at least there was no damage dealt. There was just a lot of water in her own face instead of Verdandi’s. This prompted Fuyuko to stop running towards her opponent and use her right hand to wipe the water off of her face. When she opened up her eyes again she was taken aback a little bit. There was a massive shadow cast over the lake. When she looked up she saw the origin; the reason for the massive shadow. There was a giant icicle floating above it that was surely going to be sent in her direction. Verdandi was high up in the sky herself, probably to not be in the way of the incredibly massive ice spear. The size of the spear was incredibly impressive, but probably a little over the top, “surely this will exhaust her" she thought to herself.

The thought was followed by a smile on her face as Verdandi yelled out the first lesson that Fuyuko tried to teach her. While it was true, she wondered if this wasn't a little bit over the top. It didn't matter right now. She would just need to tell her after the spar. Fuyuko put her hands together in the snake seal and started to channel her chakra, engulfing herself in raiton energy to take the icicle head on. In her peripheral vision she saw something moving in the sky, it surely was Verdandi, but what was she up to? Fuyuko being 99% sure she was safe from the icicle averted her attention up to the moving object. It indeed as Verdandi, but she was falling from the sky and didn't really look in control as she did so. Holding her right hand in the half tiger seal Fuyuko channeled some chakra on the bottom of her feet and started run on to the water. Running on collision course with the icicle, but she had to make sure Verdandi wouldn't fall into the water. The massive spear of ice came inching closer and closer. Eventually touching the lightning barrier she had put up. When the ice collided with her lightning it shattered right in front of her eyes. Her defensive technique was enough to defend herself from the ice.

It did become increasingly more difficult to keep track of Verdandi as she ran up further on the lake. The ice became bigger and bigger, creating more and more tiny particles that would fly through the air and obstruct her vision. Despite that Fuyuko still managed to position herself under the lady in time. She spread her arms a bit and waited to catch the exhausted genin. A few seconds later Verdandi came falling right into her arms just as the last bit of the ice came colliding against her barrier. Holding onto one of shoulders with her left hand however made her limb restriction technique go off and paralyze that arm from that point down, however Fuyuko had already forgotten she had activated that technique and was just glad she managed to catch Verdandi. If at any point Verdandi would ask about why she can't move her limb Fuyuko would simply explain it with "Don't worry, it'll wear off in a bit."

Now that the fight was over Fuyuko slowly walked back to the shore with Verdandi in her hands. Even if Verdandi would tell her to put her down and that she could walk herself, Fuyuko would refuse. Not letting her down until they at least reached land again. If she hadn’t woken up from exhausting herself yet Fuyuko would lay Verdandi in the grass with her head on her lap and stay by her side till she did. Whichever path of events would occur Fuyuko would tell her the following. “You fought with good determination and passion. I like that. Keep practicing and I’m sure you’ll become a splendid kunoichi one day!” Fuyuko said with enthusiasm and a smile on her face. When Verdandi would be back on her feet Fuyuko would wave her goodbye and vanish off into the tree line from which she came.

Verdandi could see how Fuy got pearled in the glazing water of the trumpet. The blast had sent Verd flying as planned and the distance between them grew despite her charging. Even making her stop in motion and stare at the conjured beast above her. As the large ice monster slowly moved towards its target Verdandi could feel her goal accomplished accordingly. She hoped, that it'd at least leave a good impression behind. But for the chuunin, even with the size of the frost spear ahead, it seemed but an easy task to compete with. Verdandi could only watch while she engulfed herself in a shadow of electricity. The mortal enemy of all that is ice. Verdandi had over exhausted herself for the sake of her display. As much as it'd fail as expected, the view of her shiny thick ice colliding with the electric barrier of her teacher was yet a sight to behold. In awe she watched the furious spear slowly crumble in a display of shiny lightning against the barrier. It was beautiful. Probably not something a Ninja should worry or care about. But she could at least appreciate the view of it all. Watching little ice break away and fall towards the water as nothing of the weapon intended ever even came close to Fuyuko.

She could see the shadow of her teacher quickly blaze forward past the shattering noises and lighting screeches that the colliding techniques were giving away. Fuy was already at point of Verdandi's impact from her fall and catches the very lightweight genin within her palms safe and sound. A little chakra surge emitted from her palm into Verdandi's arm and set it asleep. Verd who was extremely tired overall just gave Fuy a faint smile. Seeing as the expression in her face told stories about this not being necessarily intended but also just temporary, she closed her eyes and took a breather as she was carried to the shore like a little kid. Her pride was a little bruised but their difference in strength was so significant that Verd didn't really mind. She'd open her eyes, in the lap of her smiling teacher, blushing at the praise she received as if she felt it was yet not really earned.

Knowing well she'd be better the next time they meet. Verd accepted her lessons she had learned today and tried to take them in. Hopefully, next time, she could show her that these lessons and their experience was not all for naught. She'd have to find a way to get on equal grounds with lightning though. It was very obvious that this element showed not only their difference in strength but also the vulnerability of their bloodline that aunt Aya always spoke about. It was the first time for her to see it in person. The beautiful view of the colliding elements would yet clearly stick in her head and remind her of that for the future.

As Fuyu already left. Little particles of her ice technique had fallen onto the lake and in a display of surprise, Verd could see how the frost slowly froze the lake into a solid platform of frost. It was a shame she didn't see this. Maybe it would have impressed her a little more than the spear from above? Verd shrugged it off. The match was over and the lessons that could be learned were done with. She waited until the effect on her arm would slowly wear off and move on to place her weak body on the shore of the frozen lake. Contemplating what she would need to face an enemy like that someday. Thankful, that for now her superiors were watching over her, protect her from real harm as it seemed. But she knew she couldn’t stay a child forever. She’d someday, have to take the protecting role instead. Become the teacher. Taking care of the new sprouts within Kiri and Yuki. Eventually face enemies that would tread for her life while yet being stronger than her.

She had to become more powerful. She had to learn the secrets that the elements kept within. She had to understand the ways of this new world still unknown to her. So that she might, one day be of use to it and to her family, to not disgrace their name and to not fall into ill honour towards her aunt. Verd would slowly gather herself and make her way home. It was time to get a good long hot bath and a very long nap to replenish herself. As the next day would come and ask for these new challenges so she may finally prove her worth to the village and its people.
