The lack of any sort of greeting at the gates would have bothered her slightly; had it been her own village. But, honestly, she couldn't bring herself to care, especially with all the sites to see. If it wasn't for her headband wrapped around her waist like a belt that spoke of the village she was from, she would've probably came off as any sort of new young tourist. Mouth hanging open, in awe of the surrounding structures.

She slipped her left hand into her coat, pulling free the plushie from its confines of the pocket. She held the thing's right hand with her left, like she'd hold hands with any other person. She stepped gently and slowly, only pausing every now and then to glance around with her violet eyes to make sure she wasn't going to trip over anything or wander into anything. "Wow, Flynn... this place is awesome.", she whispered softly in awe to the plushie at her side.

Yeaaaah, she was off task already and she'd only just arrived. She just couldn't help herself, honestly. A new place with great things to see? She was currently in Heaven as far as she was concerned; all other thoughts wiped from her mind; such as finding someone to take her to the Hokage, or even the fact that her stomach was growling something fierce and demanding food right this minute. Or the fact that she'd have to find some place to sleep before night fall, not that she figured that would be a big problem with how much money she'd brought with her, hotels couldn't be that expensive, could they? Just, nope. No focus on anything else... at least until someone would come along who could prove distracting enough to catch her attention.

Kenta knew wrong when he felt it; and boy how did that feel wrong. An insanely powerful genjutsu user was on his lands; and it was NOT someone he knew. His Kamizuki in-laws would trigger the little mental alert trick that Michi had taught him occasionally; but they also came with a sense of familiarity and a mental 'ping' that let him know who it was. This... this was... woah. He hadn't felt anything that strong since... Michi had let his shields down and shown him the power of his mind; and that was... only marginally stronger then this. There was more... but it was jumbled; confused. Unrefined; almost... animalistic.

He'd been told by the Kamizuki elders that power like this could only be obtained through discipline and practice; not naturally. Whatever it was... it spoke to his own feral soul in a way that the school minds of the Kamizuki psychics did not.

He should... no. NEEDED, to know what it was.

Maybe he could find something out about what happened to Michi if he did...

He wasn't in his office; for once out and about. His vacation was ending, it would seem. Sad; he'd only managed a day off. Better then nothing. Whomever it was, they where still near the gate; near the tourist traps and hotels that corralled most people that came to the village. Only ninja ventured much farther in; unless they needed to. Simple enough; run up a wall and over the rooftops until he saw something that did NOT belong at all. Hell, he was no genjutsu user; and had little to no talent for sensing anymore then what he'd been taught by his mate and in laws; but this... he could almost see the power in that mind. And then... strings...? Something... fading into the distance. They where... connections of some sort; but not any he'd ever come across. Stranger and stranger...

"Oi! You, new person." He was squatting on the edge of a low roof now; hands used for support and placing him perfect for a leap if need be. "Never seen you before; and yer not one of mine. Who be you?"

Her violet gaze instantly zeroed in on the male on the roof, an eyebrow raising as her violet gaze filled with child-like curiosity. This male... he seemed powerful, obviously not one to easily scare as he'd addressed her. Then his words caused her head to tilt, her mind putting the small puzzle pieces of information together. He claimed these people as his? Then he must be the person she was looking for, the Inuzuka she knew to be Hokage.

Given she wasn't raised as a complete savage - just a borderline sociopath - she gave a little curtsy, nothing overly drawn out, just a mild form of respect towards one she knew to be ranked higher than herself. "Hello, sir. My name is Demi, I come from Kusagakure.", her voice was soft, but loud enough to be heard, polite in tone, and lacking any form of cockiness to it, and it would remain such until she was given a reason to act otherwise. She had come, rather unannounced, onto his lands, the least she could was be polite about being there.

Finished with her polite introduction she folded her hands in front of her, holding the plushie now in both of them, all while keeping her violet gaze on the man, taking in more of his appearance. Her facial expressions remained mild, only curiosity now filling her eyes as she waited for the man to say something else. Would he boot her out? Or let her remain? She had heard rumors of the man, but knew rumors almost always proved false. 'First hand experience, here I come!', she thought to herself.

From... Kusa...? What was this fuckery? Kenta WAS Kusa by birth; no one clan in the village had anything resembling this level of power with genjutsu. Granted; it had been a few years since he'd visited the land of his father; but... he would have noticed this by now. Or should have. What was going on here...? Was this part of the problems his uncle had hinted at in the last letter he'd received? Something about problems brewing...

Right, he couldn't outright assume... but that didn't stop a soft growl from escaping his throat. He shifted some; leaping lightly to the ground and approaching to within a 4 foot radius of the female. This gave them both their personal space; but it also put him well within the sphere that allowed him perfect sensory information about anyone. Hell; he was downwind to boot; so the air was doing his job for him. "Grass ninja? I know most of those; my father's clan is of the village. I was never informed of anyone with... your specific talents; appearing in the village." There was a concession in his words; allowing the other to know that he could sense her abilities without giving away how. It was a neat trick; and confused the hell out of anyone that knew of his reputation as a purely ninjtusu ranged and taijutsu melee ninja.

"Your clan is which, eh? Or are you an orphan like many of the Kusa ninja corps?"

Her violet gaze tracked his movements, but she remained relax regardless. She already knew if the man moved to attack her she stood no chance against him, not in a physical fight anyway; besides, that wasn't what she had come here for. The smallest flicker of a smile appeared and then disappeared from her features; she was amused, to put it lightly, having picked up the hidden meaning in his words. So, he knew what she could do, eh? Amusement, pure and simple.

She listened carefully to the rest of his words, filing away the information about his father's clan for later. She had to keep herself focused on the here and now. Any distraction could be costly, no matter the reason for it.

So, time to throw some chaos into the already building mix of crazy, then. "I am of the Malkavia clan." That smile appeared again this time, turning her into something that would resemble a psychopath, just more child-like, and hell.. for all intents and purposes that's exactly what she was. "And, my father is now Kusakage.", yup, another dash of chaos, followed perhaps by a dash of what-the-fuck-did-you-just-say?, as her words were entirely truthful, she has no reason to lie after all.

His jaw actually dropped for a split second when she spoke of a Kusakage. That was... what?! Kusa didn't have a Kage; they hadn't since... ever, really. It was at best a Jounin council; more often then not the Ookamizuka clan carrying the village between wars with a dose of help from Konoha. There was no way... he would have know. He would have been the FIRST to know this. He was Hokage. He was the mother fucking HOKAGE. How could he not know...

He was Ookamizuka... he SHOULD have know.

That was it... what Gen was trying to tell him, without speaking it. Shit. Shit shit shit. This was... this could be very, very bad. Konoha needed Kusa as much as Kusa needed them. Without one... the other would fall; it was the reason WHY Konoha so fiercely protected the small village for so long.

He... he had to know more. He had to get himself under control. He could go to his clansmen later. He could demand answers of why from them. But for now...

"Kusa has named a Kage then... Would you be so kind as to give me his name? I was... unaware of any of this..." His tone was a neutral as possible; given he was in serious amounts of shock. This was insane. This was completely, batshit insane. And something told him his first tastes of a peaceful life just went right back out the window.

This was... well, not exactly the reaction she'd been looking for. She had got this reaction from people before, but normally after she mind fucked them a good bit. That wasn't her goal here, so she remained completely quiet while he processed the information. "His name is Maxi.", she answered in response to his question. Another eyebrow rose and she tilted her head a bit as she watched him.

She was in a rather generous mood today, given she had had a peaceful trip here. "I guess that would be why I'm here." That wasn't her full intention, but the thoughts came flooding through her mind and she listened to them, as she always did. "If you have any more questions, I'm willing to answer them.", her tone was neutral, polite even. It wasn't every day she was willing to offer such a thing, but there was just something about this male that peeked her interest; and not in the I-want-to-fuck-his-day-up type of way, she felt the need to offer that friendly hand of help.

So, she fell silent once more, waiting for him to either ask another bunch of questions or tell her to get the hell out of his village, whichever happened. Idly she placed with the right arm of her plushie, picking at a loose thread she made a mental note to fix later, when she had time. She took the time to look around the area around herself, stomach growling loudly again though she ignored it. No time to pay attention to it right now.

Clawed fingers lifted to his temples; massaging them gently as he tried to work over this information. "Why where we not told this was happening? How did he come to power...? WHO is he!?" Kenta thought... he thought he knew all the Kusa ninja. He'd made a habit of asking for updates on all the new ninja as they came along; and to at least meet the Kusa ninja when he was in the village. He had to... he had to hold onto that belief; that he knew the village. That he knew his home...

Or maybe he'd finally managed to do it; lose his Kusa heritage, and actually become a proper Leaf ninja? He was Hokage, after all... Hokage... not Kusakage...

Why did that bother him so much? He'd never outright wanted to go back there to lead anything; rather his cousins that had been raised there. They where the true heirs; not him.

It still... it was still... wrong.

"I am... sorry. This is a slap in the face, in a way. Hokage I may be; but I am also a Grass ninja by birth. Stuck between worlds; as it where. I had no idea... no one had told me..." Shock, yeeep.

She watched his movements, head tilting once more as she placed the plushie back into the inside pocket of her jacket; knowing that if she kept at the picking she'd end up taking the things arm off, and she didn't want to hurt it. She lifted her right hand, scratching at her head as she contemplated where to all begin; seeing as he had asked several questions. She also had no way of trying to explain why she felt drawn to come to his village, today of all days. That... yeah, she wasn't about to throw that on the pile of chaos she had already caused with her presence. So, she'd settle for what was the truth, just not the whole truth; "That's why I figured I'd come, compared to a letter being written and delivered. More personal this way, and it's a tad bit more polite, or so I think."

She took pause, her mind going over the other questions he'd asked. "My father is a good man, really. It's hard to describe him, but he'll do a fine job, and he's strong enough to protect them... if that's any sort of comfort." She folded her hands in front of herself again, still watching him, momentarily pondering the strange urge she had to make him feel better about this whole situation. "And like I said, I figured me telling you in person compared to a letter was better, and easier, as you can ask your questions now and get an answer compared to having to wait.." She shrugged a bit at that, taking a moment to remove the panda eared hood, and pull out her long purple hair, keeping in mind to not make any sort of sudden movement or anything that would come across as threatening; she really didn't need to make a bad impression right now, or a threatening one as it were. 'Ah, much better..', she mentally noted to herself.

Questions... why bother with random questions asked of a random ninja. He'd go to his clan lands. He go to the village. He'd talk to them. He had to in person; that was just how he was. But he wasn't above at least offering some level of hospitality to this person. "I... I believe I need some time to compile some questions. I am not the best as suddenly questionnaires and all that."

Her word about her father meant very little; he did not know anything of the male; and so the word of someone as close as a daughter meant very little. "Just... tell me this. Was it a coup? Or did the remnants of the last Jounin council name this Kusakage?"

She had no problem giving the man time; in fact she wouldn't be insulted if he went and didn't even ask any questions of her. She knew how it might look, her being a random stranger and all who just happened to pop up, uninvited, with a crap ton of holy-cow to throw around of the information kind. Hell, she half expected to witness him walking right past her, out the gates, and straight to her village only to demand answers after he got there. Still, she was willing to help if he wanted it; as she'd said before, and her decision to do just that would stand.

She continued to stare at him, almost unblinking. Ignoring another growl of her stomach for the hundredth time since she had left home. The damn thing could shrivel and die, for all she cared at the moment; maybe then it would stop the annoying noise it was making.

At his question her head tilted again, her mind allowing herself to become more and more distracted as the conversation went on, which only made her look a bit more crazed than she originally had when she had entered the gates. "My father was needed, therefore he was named.", simple explanation, and about as good as she was going to be able to do, at least unless he asked a question that really grabbed her attention again. She wasn't trying to come across as rude, she just really couldn't help her crazy self.

"...." Could he deny that Kusa needed a leader; a proper leader? No. Not at all. They would never truly prosper on their own without one. In a way; he'd always assumed it would be his uncle that was named; if they ever did. Or at least; and Ookamizuka in general. Maybe it was time for them to release the reigns of the village. Kusa had been growing steady for once; the lack of wars destroying their lands giving them a real chance to become something finally.

"I will... accept that, for now. I was needing a reason to go visit my family... this is a perfect excuse."

And his ears finally won out and the sounds of the girl's stomach growling was no longer able to be ignored. Oh boy. "You are hungry, are you not? If you take a left at the next street; you will find yourself in the market districts. You'll find plenty to eat there; if you wish."

For the girl who normally showed only mild emotions she couldn't help but smile, even if it was only a little one. "Any excuse is always a good one to visit family.", she said softly. Ah yes, family; there would be no changing her outlook on that, given that was what she was most beastly protective over.

She wasn't surprised when he brought up her hunger; even she could hear the darn thing growling and she didn't have the hearing Inuzuka were known to have. She gave a nod and another little curtsy. "Thank you, it's much appreciated." She then paused, a quick glance to the sun telling her that she'd never make it back to her home before the sun set. "Would it be too much to ask to remain here for a few days? Your village is wonderful, and I have yet to get to enjoy all the shops I've seen." While she never was one to care for money, that didn't mean she didn't enjoy buying little things here and there, especially if they were something that was an oddity. Still, she felt better asking for actual permission to be here for a few days, instead of assuming.

"You are Kusa... you are kin; even if not my own. Konoha always has and continues to welcome the Grass village protectors. If you cannot find a room on your own, you are free to seek a room in the ANBU quarters. They will gladly give you a visitors room for however long you wish to stay. You will find them in the administration complex; the large tower at the center of town."

Was it rude to bail out now? Somewhat. But he needed to think. He needed to see his kids. He needed... to send some letters. Talk to the Jounin. Lie to the village elders. It was going to be a long night; and he needed to get it done; and soon. "Forgive me rudeness... I need to leave. There is much to do... and much to discuss. I will be available if you need anything; please feel free to ask."

He was at least polite enough at the moment to wait for her response versus just bailing out without a word.

That smile of hers grew slightly more. 'Sweeeet. Shopping trip here I come! Maybe I'll find some better thread to fix up Flynn with.', she thought to herself all while nodding to the rest of his words. "Thank you, I appreciate it, greatly." She was sure she wouldn't get lost, large tower at the center of town? Shouldn't be too hard to find if the hotels are out of rooms.

She listened to the rest of his words and nodded again. "I understand, and once again, thank you. I should probably go see about that room, anyway... and some food.", her stomach growled again, right on que. Then she was going to splurge sooooo badly, or, that was the plan anyway. Hell, maybe she'd even hang around long enough to make some new friends; couldn't hurt, right?

"Good luck; there should be hotels available; but the visitors quarters are comfortable enough. I've been known to crash in them every so often, when work runs late."

He offered little more then a hint of a fanged smirk and a barest dip of his head; as close to a proper goodbye as he ever gave to anyone. He was a blur of gold in the fading light as he retracted his steps up the wall and over the roofs; back towards the wet markets of the river for the fish he'd promised his girls for dinner that night.

She watched what she could of him leaving, smiling to herself. She thought over her options for a moment of housing, figuring if anything it'd be quieter in the visitors quarters, and well.. given the fact that it was hard enough to sleep with massive noises and thoughts rattling off in her own head, she might as well go with the quieter option, at least if she planned on getting any sleep while she was here.

So, without further waiting she walked off, heading in the direction he'd mentioned where she'd find some good food. Food first, sleep later. Maybe shopping tomorrow.
