Raiu Mizuki

Raiu Mizuki

Retired
[x] Event Info

Mizuki looked out over the rail of the ship as she heard the captain bark others around. Raise the plank, lift the anchor. It was time to cast off and set sail. The warm lands of Konohagakure heralded the semblance of a tropical cruise as a fair breeze took away most of the heat and brought in the refreshing scent of salt water. The view was, despite the ship still being in the harbour, rather beautiful to behold and Mizuki imagined the vista on open sea could only be even more magnificent.

Under the loud tooting of the horn, the ship started its way through the dancing waves as Mizuki watched the port grow smaller by the minute. As the ship picked up speed and the disappearing buildings left full playground to the winds, Mizuki's stomach started to feel a little queasy. It was an odd sensation to have it turned into a knot, seemingly rejecting the notion of sleep or food at first. She didn't quite feel sick, but the discomfort was there, and as such she decided to walk around in hopes to calm down her increasingly upset stomach.

The walking seemed to do her a little good, but the knot didn't quite disappear. Then again, it eventually seemed to settle down at a consistent presence of discomfort as her legs became used to heaving of the ship. Deciding to find a spot on the front of the ship and look at what was to come, Mizuki's mind roamed towards her sister. Erisu, being a pirate, would have loved this. Most likely she would now be teasing Mizuki's discomfort, dancing around her younger sister without a care in the world. In fact, Mizuki wouldn't have been surprised if her sister would be climbing on the rails or swinging on the anchor's chain just to show Mizuki how great she felt. The brat. But though the memory was somewhat amusing, the sting of missing her elder sister wasn't to be denied. It had already been a year again, since the ordeal in the slums, that Mizuki had heard or spotted her. The Shirai were still around, occasionally popping up in criminal reports, but never did any of those contain even the semblance of Erisu's presence. Gazing out to the horizon, Mizuki could only wonder...

"Where are you, sis? What are you doing out there that keeps you so far from us all?"

Much like she thought about her sister, she wondered how her mother was doing. The Raikage's mission took longer than expected as travelling had proven to hold its own challenges. Since she was continuously on the move, messenger birds would not be able to find her and few people knew her well enough to identify her should they have a message. In fact, Mizuki wondered to what extend even the Raikage was aware of her current position. It felt odd to be so disconnected with everything and anyone she knew...

As her mind wandered off much like her gaze followed the horizon, curtains of mists slowly shrouded the overall sight of the passengers and crew alike. There was a brief moment of panic under the people at the unfamiliarity of the situation, but the bolstering voice of the captain quickly resonated through the air to introduce them to the Lands of Water - and its typical mist. He continued to explain sailing would now be done at a slower pace as the mist concealed treacherous rock spikes and sand banks alike, requiring the crew to double the efforts on perceptive matters so as to safely guide them through the dangerous environment. After what seemed like an eternity due to the tension in the air caused by most passengers, the ship finally hit port.

Kirigakure.
