Zeref woke from his slumber with a Tap, tap tap at his window, opening his eyes he noticed a raven was peaking at the glass. "A mission? I just got back." Zeref shock his head as he tossed the covers from his body. "No rest for the wickid." Sliding open the window he took the small scroll that was on the ravens leg before it flew off back to who ever sent it. Zeref scimmed the black lettering that was writen on the scroll. "They want me to gaurd the cross roads huh?" Zeref smirked to himself, the cross roads were useally safe, but even on his travels he had heard that bandet actitivey had picked up. The village was using him to take care of the bandits without actally telling him to. Zeref tossed the scroll into the small wood stove burning it. "This should be interesting"

Zeref was dressed, fed, and packed with in the hour and already heading through the gate. One of the gaurds noticed him passing through."Leaving so soon? You just got back from your training." Zeref waved his hand in the air dismissing him. "Now that I'm a chuunin, the village wants me on harder missions. You know how it is." The gaurd chuckled alittle at his words. Zeref was a chuunin now, the next check point was jouinin, his teammate from what he had heard was right behind him nipping at his heals, he only hopped he wouldn't slow Zeref down. He wondered what would happen to the team, three chuunin on one team seemed like a bitch much, but then again, the village had put him and Takahiro through difficult missions almost like they were trying to mold them. Zeref pushed the thought from his head, what ever it was the village wanted, for now it suited him just fine, both his path, and the villages were the same.

It took half a days hike for Zeref to reach the small outpost at the cross road, when he arrived he could already see battle marks all around. The small building had parts of the roof gone, scroch marks on the side, trees were shattered, shards of weapons covered the ground, the bandets were getting bold. Zeref walked to the hut and swung the door open, and was greated with three men swiftly standing up drawing their weapons. "The village sent me." the men were paranoid, but not enough that they would have gaurds outside? And it took Zeref opening the door for them to realize someone was here, no wonder they bandets were acting up. "Im here to gaurd the roads, but it seems you been having trouble with some one?"Zeref wasn't going to waste anytime, he was here for three days, half one one was already gone leaving him with little over two days to end the problem. Maybe that was the villages test this time, timed dispatch of criminals. "I have one question, where is their camp." The men looked at one another before one finially answered. "In the moutrains to the east, few miles from the bottom, not sure where but they are there some where hidden in the forest and caves" Zeref nodded once, turning out of the door and started heading east .

As Zeref approach the base of the mountain he started to notice signs of human activity. There were slices on tree trunks all around, target practice he assumed. Zeref jumped into a near by tree to try and add height to his field of vision, sure enough it helped. Off in the distance Zeref could make out what looked like tents, and lazily built wooden shacks, judging by the number he assumed there had to be at least two dozen bandits. Two dozen against him alone, sure he could get the other few guards to help but they didn't look like they were going to be any use to him. Zeref sighed and leaned against the tree trying to form a plan in his head. There was a small chance he could fight them with clones, but the odds still didn't look good, his best bet was to ambush them and have them fall into traps. Zeref looked to the horizon and noticed it was getting dark, he had to return to the guard shack, hopefully they had a map of the area, he needed to start prepping for the coming battle.

The night was casting a darkness over the land, Zeref now back in the outpost was looking over the small map the guards had of the area. The room was dimly lit with a few candles, the sound of a snoring guard filling the other wise silent room. To the untrained eye the map just showed the forest and the edge of the mountain, to Zeref it was much more detailed. Zeref placed circles around key areas, a abandoned mine shaft, a small dried up river bed, a few animal trails. If planed out right, and done correctly Zeref could lead the group of bandits to these locations and take them out with little ease. With an idea in mind Zeref rolled up the map and headed to get a good nights rest, he would need to be up early to lay his traps.

As the morning sun started to rise Zeref was already awake doing a small workout to get his body loosened for the days battle. Zeref looked at the guards that were stationed at the outpost, weak, fat, incompetent, it was clear he would be going on the hunt alone. Zeref left the small building without saying a single word to them, to him they were nothing but hindrances. Zeref moved about the forest, placing Koton Kunia in a few location, trip wires in others, it would be twenty four against him, if you counted his clones it would be seven against twenty four.

With the traps laid out Zeref moved to the bandits camp, on his way there he ended up running into one bandit and quickly disposed of him with a slit to the throat, there would be no mercy. Zeref now just outside of the camp, the sun to his back summoned six clones, and then disguised them by covering their faces, or taking off other articles of clothing. To the untrained eye it would look like there was seven different people and not one with six clones. His hope was to attack, and then scatter causing the bandits to split their forces. Zeref and his six clones all drew out their weapons, slowly they spread out in a slight semi circle formation and then charged the camp.

It was still early so many of the bandits were still sleeping, the ones who were awake still tried. As Zeref and the clones entered the camp they killed off three bandits before another was able to shout. The small clone force continued to move through the camp, slashing and stabbing as they pushed deeper. Three minutes into the attack the bandits numbers went from twenty four, to fifteen but now all of them were awake and charging back at Zeref and his clones. Zeref smirked, turned on his heels and ran back into the forest, the clones following suit along with the bandits, just as planed.

As the bandits started to chase the clones started to split off which as Zeref hopped the bandits followed, splitting into smaller groups. Zeref could hear screams echoing through the forest as traps were triggered, or clones took out more and more. Zeref who was being chased by three formed a few hand signs just as he passed a Koton Kunia causing it to form into a sphere and explode killing the three that followed him. Zeref stopped running looking at the bodies laid out in front of him, one was still alive, Zeref walked over and crush the barely breathing bandits throat with his boot.

Moving through the forest Zeref headed back to the bandits camp, his clones had killed off the remaining bandits all that was left was to burn the camp and kill anyone who wasn't part of the chase. Zeref set the camp on fire, if there were more bandits they were not at the camp, but hopefully if they returned they would see the carnage and death and decided it was best to move on, other wise Zeref would have to return.

Zeref returned to the small look out to update the lazy guards, they were shocked once they heard Zeref took out the whole camp by himself, but they were grateful that they no longer should be under the threat of attack. The last two days of the assignment were dull, no counter attack from any bandits, not even any rumors of any movement from them, Zeref figured none would be stupid enough to attack for a while. With the three days over, Zeref headed out to return to the village and get paid.
