Welcome to the Namahage Festival Bonus Achievement Thread! In order to encourage active participation in the festival and all of its facets (as well as to throw some red meat to the hidden completionists among you) we have set up a bonus achievement system which rewards members for meeting certain goals and completing certain tasks. These rewards vary by task and degree of difficulty, the details of which can be found below, alongside each specified bonus achievement. In order to redeem your bonus achievements, be sure to use the template provided and post in the thread below. The bonus rewards will be distributed in rolling fashion as the event continues. At the top of the tallest hill just a few miles from the Namahage Festival lies an abandoned temple where the chieftains of the Oni reside. Every year, in honor of the ancient folklore surrounding the festival, the Oni challenge the festival goers in the town below to make the pilgrimage to the temple where great treasures await them. During the festival, however, the earth itself seems to divide, creating a large chasm preventing all access to the temple. The only means of accessing it during this period is via a mysterious, spectral staircase that seems to slowly construct itself as the festival goes. According to the Oni, if the chieftains are thoroughly pleased by the festivities taking place in the town below then all 999 steps will materialize, opening the way to the temple above and the treasures that lie within.

Spectral stairs will be added to the total as the festival progresses, one for every Bonus Achievement unlocked by Player Characters throughout the festival. If the 999 goal is reached, the Oni will descend the staircase and award all participating players with treasures from their temple. This is a challenge for the entire community to work together to achieve. While there is no penalty for not completing the mission… you’ll never know what’s inside unless you do! Best of luck!
