Clan History: An ancient tale of the Ainu described the dealings with of mortals and the Howling Wolf God, Horkew Kamuy. It was said that mortals would pray to him for help in times of need and he would send magical white wolves to aid them. Only two conditions needed to be met in exchange for this service. Firstly, the wolves were to be fed and secondly, they were to be returned to Horkew Kamuy, unharmed, when things improved.

The greed of man brought this cycle to a halt, sadly, as the humans stopped feeding the white wolves, and even worse so, they began to chain them up in cages, never returning them.

This infuriated the Howling God, and a plot of vengeance was formed. He would take a human wife and create werewolves to be sent to the humans instead. This would cause all manner of trouble for the humans. It was only after his beautiful wife arrived that Horkew forgot of his plot for revenge and was overtaken by love.

The two lived together happily and had children out of love, rather than for revenge. These children were known as the "Children of the White Wolf"

This story is often repeated to explain to youglings of the Hokkaido clan how they came to be what they are. Now a proud and small community just outside of Kirigakure no Sato, these people are werewolves. They come in all different types and fur colors, but they share in common the beast blood of the white wolf.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Children of the White Wolf
Kekkei Genkai Description: The Children of the White Wolf are, to put it simply, werewolves. The union and blending of powerful spiritual wolf chakra and that of man grants the ability of complete shape shifting into a hybrid between wolf and man. The transformation which takes place can be different in exact size and detail for every individual Hokkaido, and must be specified within the details of their character application (each aspect of the general appearance ought to include details for the transformed state as well as what is already required.)

Even outside of the transformed state, Hokkaido still benefit from the chakra of the white wolf, having an enhanced sense of both smell and hearing. This translates to a +1 to perception.

As a werewolf the user exchanged the aspects of humanity within themselves for greater strength and primal power. By paying the scaling cost in order to transform, the user gains a full set of 2-inch claws in place of their fingernails and toenails. These claws scale in damage with the users rank. The cutting and piercing capability of the claws is always the lowest for a jutsu of the same rank as the user. Ex: A D-rank Hokkaido would have claws capable of dealing 1/4 inch cuts. A B-rank Haikkaido would have claws capable of slicing 2 inches into an opponent.

The bite of a Hokkaido werewolf is said to be one of the most painful things a person can experience. After transforming the Hokkaido will replace their human teeth with 42 new ones (4 canines, 12 incisors, 16 premolars and 10 molars) like wolves and bears. The sharper of these share scaling with the claws in terms of piercing depth, but also have a strength check. If the strength of the opponent is equal to or less than the Hokkaido, the bite pressure of the Hokkaido and the primal strength of the jaw will be sufficient enough to hold them in place for up to one full post.

Finally, a Hokkaido werewolf transfers the tactical effectiveness of jutsu into raw primal power. While transformed, the user gains a +1 to strength and reaction time.
