Sutaka

D-rank
Mission (Will be done with Otter):

Sutaka's dream brought him back to his home. It wasn't anything special, it was just a family farm stationed outside of Tanigakure in the River Country. Sutaka was  eight year old again, running through the corn fields with his brother, Ren, who always wore a metal pot as a hat. He was always weird like that. Life was simple at this time. The world of shinobi didn't matter to the Suzumiya family, the only thing that they found important was their crops. However, as much as they didn't want it to happen, that was to change in two short years, when they planned to send their middle child, Sutaka, to one of the major villages to become a shinobi.  Sutaka smiled in his sleep, not wanting the memories of his childhood to end. Sutaka and his younger brother continued to run through the corn fields, eventually emerging near the trail that connected all of the buildings and other things that their family owned. Sutaka and his brother took a sharp left and ran towards where they kept their cattle. The names Sutaka gave them echoed through his mind. There was Moobly, Moovers, Moof, Moo, Moot, and so on. Most of them were probably sold away long ago in the present, but Sutaka preferred not to think about that. They were his friends, after all.

As he and his brother ran along the wooden fence that held the cows, something strange happened. Suddenly, the air filled with the scent of salt. Sutaka instantly grew to his current size as the surrounding scenery changed to something entirely different. The ground below his feet turned to sand. The sound of water crashing against cliffs filled his ears as the ocean filled the area behind him. The sound mixed with the sound of trees rustling as a dense forest appeared a distance ahead of him. This beach felt... familiar to him for some reason. He turned around and came face to face with a boy about his age who has purplish red hair and headphones and a young green haired girl with a crossbow. Sutaka was sure these people were strangers, but he still felt like he knew them from somewhere. Suddenly, a time lapse of events started to play through this setting. He was walking with his group, and shuriken were thrown their way. The strangers managed to stop them while Sutaka froze in fear.  Sutaka's body moved by itself to the sidelines, where he collapsed and began to sob. A flash appeared within the trees, showing a silhouette holding another silhouette and then... sparks. The man dropped the other, which was quickly followed by the gut wrenching sound of a body hitting the earth. The man responsible then disappeared into the trees, not to be seen again. This change of events caused only confusion with Sutaka and the others as they stood there not sure what to do. They buried the body, and they thought that was it. However, when Sutaka turned back, he saw that the green haired demon dug up the body and started to cut off his head, with a kunai of all things. He opened his mouth to let out a stuttered scream that echoed throughout the beach.

His eyes opened opened, revealing his room. His body was covered with sweat after experiencing the same nightmare that he has had for the last several months. He kept convincing himself that the whole thing was terrible night terror, but that didn't change the fact that the experience felt so real. It was like he actually experienced it, but his memory didn't give him anything. Sutaka crawled out of bed and rubbed his eyes, looking at the calendar across the room. The day's date was circled several times with the words "Mission time! Go to the arena, 11:00 a.m.!" Right, today was that day. Today was the day that Sutaka was scheduled to do a mission. He wasn't exactly the mission type, but this one was different. For this mission, he was randomly assigned to another shinobi who signed up to take the same mission and had to have a friendly spar with them. That was another thing. Sutaka wasn't exactly the fighting type either, but this specific spar was advertised as a spar of a lifetime! So, it would've been a sin if Sutaka didn't sign up, at least he's good at avoiding fights, right?

Sutaka looked at the clock, seeing it was nine forty-seven. Okay, he didn't oversleep this time. That's a good start. He quickly went to his closet and got dressed. He wore the same bright blue overalls he always wore with a loose white tee underneath with a black, skin tight sports shirt underneath that. He ran through his house and threw on his straw hat and sandals before running out the door. A tweet filled melody filled the air along with a flap of wings as Sutaka made his way down the street.

In a what seemed like a short amount of time, Sutaka made it to where he was headed. The open training grounds was a strange place that was commonly used by the shinobi that populated the village. The grounds were surrounded by a basic fence and the ground was solid sand. Sutaka walked through the opening of the fence that acted as an entrance, and a mockingbird landed on top of the fence nearby. The farm boy made his way to the centered of the seemingly empty training grounds and looked around. He seemed to be alone - other than the mockingbird - but what did he know? He took his straw hat off of his head and let it fall around his neck. He looked up to the sky and squinted at the sky. What time was it? Was he late? Early? Eh, whatever, that didn’t really matter now did it? What mattered is that he was where he was meant to be! Today was the day where he was going to complete a mission. It didn’t matter to him if he won or lost either, what mattered to him was if he had fun or not. He stopped staring up at the sky and locked his gaze back on the entrance. He put his hands on his waist and held his chin high and waited for his partner to arrive. He had to look somewhat presentable to make a good impression, right?
