Boar Hunts:

It was a beautiful day outside as Bōei walked outside his home. Today was a mission day and the weather was perfect for his task at hand. Reports had come in that a large boar was terrorizing villagers who ventured into the southern forest to gather food. He had been assigned to track and kill the nuisance once and for all. It was his first C rank mission so we was a bit more interesting in his task at hand. "It's better than delivering mail so lets see how this goes..." he thought to himself as he made his way into the southern forest. He had a bit of intel on the general location of the boar, so he formulated a plan to lure it out into the open where he could deal with it easily.

As he prepared his trap, he evaluated his options on how to deal with the boar as quickly as possible to minimize his effort. After setting his trap, he climbed the nearest tree to watch from above in relative safety. As the minutes passed he began to relax on his perch above, waiting for the moment where he could spring into action and get this mission completed. The rustling of leaves below grabbed his attention as he was growing more and more restless. He looked down to spot a boar rummaging across the forest floor, getting closer and closer to its demise. As he sat perched on a branch laying back he heard a violent squeal then silence, realizing his job was done, or at least so he thought. "Well that was easier than I thought," he said to himself grinning. He hopped down from his vigil to survey the damage done. When his feet his the ground, he heard rumblings from the foliage near him. "That can't be good..." he thought to himself. Two large boar charged from the brush towards him, seemingly enraged by the sight of their fallen comrade. Thinking quickly, Bōei jumped to the side causing both boars to miss him. As the two boars recovered from their charge two other boars emerged from the foliage, one being significantly larger than the other three. Realizing the quickly declining state of his situation, Bōei formulated a plan to neutralize all of the boar as quickly as possible.

Realizing the biggest boar would be a the most troublesome of the bunch, he figured he had to quickly shut it down so that he could deal with it after the other three. Thinking quickly, he formed the Rat seal and willed his shadow to bind itself to the largest boar so that he could easily place it into a shadow prison. Without hesitation, he trapped the largest boar inside a shadow prison and back flipped himself onto the prison itself.  Using the time he bought himself by temporarily neutralizing the threat of the large boar, he thought up a method to kill of the remaining boars quickly. Using his shadow gathering technique, he decided to use a tendril to pummel the other three boars into submission so that he could easily kill them with a kunai in a weakened state. He quickly began a barrage of strikes against the three boars, striking each one on their broadest side. The force of the strikes easily toppled the boars over although they did not seem too injured by the strike itself.

The first of the three smaller boars would be his first kill, as he vaulted off the shadow prison and drove his kunai deep into the boar. The boar erupted into a bloodcurdling squeal of anguish as the blood began to pour from it and its life began to fade. As he twisted his kunai to ensure the demise of the boar the other two had regained their footing and began to charge at him in tandem, seemingly now working in coordination with one another. Bōei reached into his pouch and launched two shuriken aimed at the eyes of the two boar. Each shuriken caught their target square in the eye ball, partially destroying their vision and temporarily halting their assault. Out of the corner of his eye, Bōei noticed a small baby boar emerging from bushes to his right. It squealed a bit, seemingly calling for its parents. With the echo of the babies cries, the two now partially blind charged furiously at him seemingly enraged by the sight of the baby. "Great...." he sighed to himself. Using his shadow tendril he struck the before closet to him in its other eye blinding it. He proceeded to jump onto the boar and drove his kunai into the back of its head, dropping the boar to the ground under his weight. "Two dow....." he began to say as he felt the force of the other boar barrel into his side knocking him to the ground. Clutching his side, he regained his composure as the boar came barreling down on him again. Using his shadow tendril, he tripped the boar causing it to tumble down in front of him leaving it wide open. Using his kunai, he plunged it deep into the neck of the boar and sliced it across to end its assault. The boar screamed for its life as its body spasmed until the life left its body. Feeling the pain in his side, he sat down next to the boar to rest for a few moments before he had to deal with the largest boar awaiting him in his shadow prison.

Clutching his side in pain Bōei stood up looking at his shadow prison, annoyed he still had to deal with the large boar inside. "This is lame..." he sighed to himself as he prepared to release the beast from its bondage and slay it. Prior to releasing the likely agitated boar inside, he figured he would use his shadow tendril to weaken the boar by pummeling it a bit inside its temporary home. He launched an assault of strikes inside the prison hoping he would weaken the boar enough to where it would barely put up a fight upon release. Ending his barrage, he released the boar from its pen. As it stood free it looked around, apparently trying to reorient itself to its surroundings as the prison was pure darkness inside. Its eyes crossed path with the baby boar which had walked closer to Bōei. The large boar seemed a bit sluggish at but the sight of the baby caused it to charge in a fit of rage. Its tusks barreling toward him, Bōei rolled to his left narrowly missing getting skewered by the boars large tusks. Using its momentum against it, Bōei used his shadow tendril to trip the boar causing it to fall to the ground with a loud thud. Bōei raced toward the boar to finish it off before it could get back up. He unleashed a barrage of kicks and punches to the boars weak points before thrusting his kunai into its belly and slicing down to disembowel the beast. As the blood and entrails fell out of the boar, Bōei let out a sigh of relief as his job was finally done. "How troublesome..." he sighed to himself. Covered in blood and sweat, he clutched his side once more as the pain radiated in his ribs. "This sucks, damn thing probably cracked my ribs...Lame". He gathered himself and made his way back toward the village victorious and bruised.
