Nakazo filled his pack with supplies in his small house in the slums. He had a mission to take care of today, and it involved leaving the village. The ninja made sure he had an ample water supply, some light snacks, and of course, his ninja tools. It was still midday out and the Wind Country was at its hottest point, especially away from the shade of Sunagakure. He wasn't excited at the prospect of leaving the village at such a time to go on a mission, but work was work, and he desperately needed the money. Him and his mother had been in a dire economic state since his father's death years ago, and Nakazo knew he needed to provide and help his mother live a better life. After all she had given and sacrificed so much to make sure he had everything he ever needed, and now it was his turn to return the favor. With his pack full of supplies he slipped the bag on and then made his way down the narrow stairway to the first floor. He found his mother there reading in the living room quietly. Nakazo gave her a hug and a kiss before exited out the door to begin his job. She hugged him back and wished him good luck, which brought a smile to his face. She was the most important person in his life, and he would give anything for her. The sun blinded him as he sheltered his eyes with one hand and closed the door behind him with another.

His thoughts went to the mission at hand as he made his way towards the only entrance or exit from Sunagakure. The city was hidden inside a massive canyon, with the gate being carved directly through a mountain. Earlier today he was at the mission offices when the Jounin in charge had explained what was needed for the day. There was a woman in the village who was looking for a ninja to bring back a live specimen of a rare species of rabbit. Apparently she had since this creature the other week while out on a walk outside of Sunagakure. It was supposed to be all pink, with a black star on its back, and it had four ears. Nakazo was instantly skeptical of such a creature, but he decided it was a least worth a shot trying to find one. Truth be told he actually wanted to see such a being, if it did in fact exist. The woman had drawn a rough map of the area where she spotted the rabbit, and Nakazo took it from the Jounin, studying it carefully. He knew the area well, it was a common getaway area for people in Sunagakure due to the unique rock formations there. Nakazo had seen some rabbits there himself, but never of the pink variety. With all the information needed he had went home to pack some supplies before setting out into the desert to capture a beast that may or may not exist.

Nakazo snapped back to reality as he came to the gate. He nodded to the guard there, and showed his mission papers. The man quickly looked it over and sent the Genin on his way without hassle. The passageway into the desert was dark and cool, a nice relief from the extreme heat on either end of it. Finally he came out the other side and followed the left face of the mountain. The map lead him towards the rock formation where the bunnies were. It was about an hour walk to the location, and Nakazo made his way there as fast he could. He needed to take frequent breaks due to the extreme heat, and he drained a full canteen of water on the way there. He arrived though finally, seeing the rock "humans" in the distance, as the villagers like to call them. Another ten minutes of travel brought him face to face with the formations, and the favorite hang out spot of this supposed pink rabbit. Nakazo was careful to remain hidden as he scaled the top of the wall. He found an overhang jutting out from the stone that was sheltered by the sun, and he chose that location as the spot where he would camp out and wait for the rabbit. The next few hours passed uneventfully as Nakazo waited patiently to see if this rabbit would show. He saw a few of the normal garden variety, but none of this supposed pink one with a star on its back. And four ears, how ridiculous, he thought. He was blankly staring at the sand below a short time lately, lost in thought, when the mythical beast appeared. It hopped through the sand, kicking it up as it did so. The rabbit looked like it was simply playing around, and it took Nakazo a few moments to realize that this was what he was looking for.

From his sitting position he transitioned into crouch, careful to stay hidden and out of sight. The last thing he wanted to do was to spook the rabbit after being so close to it. It began to hop directly below his position, blissfully unaware of what was waiting for it above. It gave a last hop forward and Nakazo knew that this was his strength to strike. He leaped down from above, arms out, trying to catch the pink rabbit in one motion. The creature had quick reactions, and the shadow Nakazo cast gave his location away. It barely managed to hop to the side as Nakazo crashed into the sand below. The rabbit skittered away, and the ninja could see that it was running towards a small cave that lead into the mountain. Nakazo knew that if the rabbit got there he would have no chance of catching it ever again. I can't let it escape, he thought, picking himself up from the ground. He reached back into his ninja pouch and found the single kunai that he knew would be there. He quickly brought it across his chest and threw his arm out, releasing the kunai and aiming for the entrance to the cave. It flew through the air and stuck in the sand just before the rabbit could enter. It scared the beast, and the rabbit turned in the other direction, running away from Nakazo into the open sand. Nakazo bolted after it, using his quick speed to catch up to it. He finally got within range of the rabbit and he made a dive for it with his arms and hands outreached. He belly flopped on the sand while he fingers wrapped around the rabbit. A smile grew on his face as he celebrated his success. He carried the rabbit all the way back to Sunagakure, though it struggled the whole time. Nakazo had to stop for frequent water breaks, both for himself and the rabbit. Finally he arrived back in the village as the sun was setting and delivered the rabbit to the woman, who beamed with excitement at the sight of it. He then finally headed back to the office to turn in his mission and receive his ryo reward.
