In order to participate in Naruto Saga’s in-character role play, one must first create and present for approval a character of their own design to serve as the medium through which they interact with the in-character world. Simply copy the coded version of the Character Creation Template (located below), complete it, and post it in the Characters section of the Ninja Scroll as a new topic. A member of staff with the authority to moderate Character applications will then review the submission, identify any error or edits that need to be made (if any), and finally approve the character once all requirements are met. A collection of frequently asked questions may be found at the end of the template below. If a shinobi chooses not to be part of a clan at character creation they are considered Undiscovered.

General Appearance: A general description of your physical appearance. Helpful things to mention include clothing, hairstyle, build and other noteworthy physical traits. Must be a minimum of 100 words.

Interests: What does your character like/dislike. At least 100 words.
Motivations: What drives your character? What are their dreams/greatest fears? At least 100 words.
History: Your character's history. At least 400 words. Note: It's standing site policy that experiments and such conducted in the character's history cannot affect them in any way but cosmetic. You may not start out with any weapons that you obtain in your history unless you take a pre-made Special Characteristic that grants you a free starting item.

- Character & Account F.A.Q.:
- • May I use more than one character on a single account?
No. Members may only use a single, dedicated character per account.
• How many characters may I have at one time?
Members may have up to four characters at any given time.
• Can my character be the direct descendent/reincarnation/related to (Insert canon character name)?
No. Because we are unable to extend that same opportunity to every member, we do not permit specific, familial ties to canon characters.
- Face Claim F.A.Q.:
- • May I use (Insert canon character name here) as my character’s face claim?
Unfortunately, no. The recycling of canon face claims is not allowed.
• My desired face claim is in use, but the individual that claimed it is inactive. Can it be reclaimed?
Yes, although a certain period of inactivity is required before an individual is considered to have forfeited their right to face claims/names/etc. That period is three calendar months. (i.e. if a character was last online on January 1st, their face claim becomes forfeit on April 2nd)
- Character & Account Name F.A.Q.:
- • I’d like to use an alias/alternate name of mine for my account. Is that ok?
No. For the purposes of identification, moderation, and administrative work it is required that all accounts use the same name that their character is primarily identified as.
• I’d like to name my character after (Insert canon character name here). May I?
Yes. No such restriction on names exists as the one that exists for face claims.
• A name I want is already taken. What can I do?
It is not unusual for common given names to already be in circulation, sometimes by inactive accounts. If the account is inactive, the same three month waiting period applies before the name is considered forfeit as with inactive face claims. If the given name you want belongs to another active member, one might consider using a combination of the appropriate given & surname.
- Starting Location & Clan F.A.Q.:
- • I found a clan I like, but they are locked to Village X. I want my character to be in Village Y. Can I make a character from that clan outside of the village it’s locked to?
Unfortunately not. When clans are created to belong specifically to a certain starting location(s), that restriction is to be enforced.
• I want my character to start off as a missing-nin. Is that possible?
While all members are encouraged to pursue the direction for their character that they desire, we consider the process of becoming a missing-nin to be an important part of character development. For that reason, player characters may not begin as missing-nin.
- Restricted & Wanderer F.A.Q.:
- I don't want to begin in a village, Instead of being missing, can I begin as a wanderer?
Yes, unlike missing ninja you can begin as a Wandering Ninja / Ronin. However it cannot be your first character, you must already have had another character for two months before making a wandering character. You're also, limited to a single active wandering character - Are there any other requirements for a Wanderer?
Similar to members of restricted clans, Wanderers are required to have double word counts on each section in their character sheet. - Can I be a wandering Hyuga?
Sadly, no. Characters who begin as a wanderer can only be from Scattered clans.
- I don't want to begin in a village, Instead of being missing, can I begin as a wanderer?
Finally, once your character is approved you get a free starter pack. These can be grabbed from the catalogs found here.
