Alwen Sangotatsu

Alwen Sangotatsu

D-rank
The second day. Today would mark the second day of Alwen Sangotatsu staying on the island that housed Osada manor for the purposes of missions. Of course, she hadn’t stayed in the manor, instead just camping out among the workers for the time being. For such a pleasant scenery, the derelict state giving a serene calm presence, contrary to the actual situation. And just as the day prior, today’s mission would not be a pleasant one from the sound of it. Defend the workers. From what? Would this mean causing more bodies to appear for another ninja to clean up? Because if so, then this would be both sad and ironic. A cruel twist to a bad joke.

Clad in the same apparel as the other day, the shinobi with horns stood among a bunch of nervous looking workers. Odd how uncomfortable they looked. After all, the corpses of the assailants that they should be worried about are what litter the ground. Although perhaps that isn’t reassuring. Realistically, death is a sign that conflict has occurred. Big conflict. No matter who dies, a death is a death. A life coming to an abrupt end. Whether good or evil in the morally grey world, death was something sad, distressful. Her mind continued to ramble to itself about these thoughts, the thoughts of death and terror, until she realised the actual reason the workers were nervous. Spiders. A group of several, giant spiders appeared. Why did it have to be spiders?! With a shriek, Alwen felt her legs tremble. Of course it was spiders! Shaky hands formed hand seals as several workers made their prayers, assuming that the genin would be useless, and incapable of dealing with such large arachnids. Were she slightly more afraid of spiders, they would be right.

Hand signs complete, two clones of water formed, one running to the left and the other to the right. “Stand back!” called Alwen in a shaky voice. Of course it was bloody spiders. The spiders began to approach the non-clone Alwen standing in the middle, as the three ninja girls all began to make different gestures. Primarily, the real Alwen Sangotatsu clapped her hands together, a whip made of green, shining water, forming in her hand, thorns scattered interspersed on what could be its cord length. Furthermore, the whip ends with a dragon, reptilian head that seemed to have a mind of its own, snapping at the closest spider. As this was happening, the rightmost clone began exhuming what seemed like nothing, until twelve small globules appeared out of nowhere, each the size of a baseball. As soon as the globules appeared, the second clone made their move, a thick mist shooting out of her mouth and covering the area between the trio of Alwen.

Satisfied that the technique was working out thus far, although drained by how much chakra it took up, Alwen proceeded to do the rest of her plan. The real Alwen cracks her water whip forward, the dragon head finding its mark in the face of the lead spider as it lets out a freakish shriek at the impact, all three of the Alwen’s shivering. Why did it have to be spiders?! The clone that had created the mist in the first place proceeded to weave some signs, rain pittering and pattering from the mist. As soon as the first drop began to fall, the clone poofed, all chakra in it used up. Meanwhile, concentrating hard, the clone that created the globules waited for the spiders to have a majority near the balls, before making them explode into large swathes of seafoam, catching the creatures off guard and halting their movement. The clone then takes out a kunai from the satchel on her leg, rushing forwards towards the nearest spider, movements as if in co-ordination with the rain, as if the rain itself was aiding her movement in the thick, hidden mist. She prioritised the backmost spider, slashing at its legs with the knife repeatedly, making sure to move constantly both to work up adrenaline and to ensure it didn’t hit her. While this was happening at the rear, from the front the real Alwen unleashed her barrage of whip attacks on the foremost spider, no real tact to her strikes. “Die die die die die! Go away creepy spider!” she shrieks, the constant attacks of the whip finally killing the first spider whilst the rear clone kills the back. Three spiders left. Three giant spiders.

A plan in mind, the real Alwen gestures for the clone to manoeuvre to the right of the real Alwen, gathering Suiton chakra in her mouth as the clone began to move. Meanwhile the real Alwen ran to her left, opposite the clone, as the spiders remained stuck in the middle, confused due to the combination of the mist and seafoam. With a nod, Alwen had decided a way that could kill all three of the spiders at once, but would not only destroy the clone, but cause her to collapse of exhaustion as well. It was a lot of chakra. Chakra management was something she had to work on, as well as pretty much everything. She was the perfect definition of a genin; new and weak, in need of improvement.

The plan in place, the real Alwen held out her hand, the rain that was falling now streaming, sticking to the heads of the spiders in a line that lead in mid-air from the spider closest to Alwen, to the other end actually touching the fingertips of the clone. Preparing to sacrifice itself, the clone nodded, sending a jolt of ration chakra down the stream, electrocuting all of the remaining spiders. Furthermore, due to the intense heat caused by the electrocution, not only does the water clone explode, but the mist and seafoam completely dissipate, Alwen collapsing to the ground in a heap, panting from exhaustion. It took a moment for the workers to know what to do, the spider attack stopped for the day. The strange little girl had kept them safe, although knocked herself out doing so. After rest, she would leave back to Kirigakure, her missions complete. She had things to work on. She also still. Hated. Spiders.
