The calls rang out to rally all available shinobi for a huge undertaking. The veil between the living and spirit world has become weak and a spirit village has become visible. As soon as the village become visible, reports streamed in of people needing to be rescued from the spirit world. Every Daimo sent word to their villages and all shinobi were asked to head right there.

Harichimo was no exception, even on his mission to Sunagakure, this took higher priority. He was in his apartment when he awoke to a knocking at his door. Thinking it was Karumo or Oomi he threw on his jacket and and opened the door. When he looked no one was around and the hallway was empty as could be. Harichimo looked down to see a formal looking letter dropped at his feet. He grabbed the letter and opened it up to reveal all the details of the mission. He would take a seat at the small table in the room and put his hands to his head. The elders of the Kazako clan warned the children about messing with the affairs of the spirit world and told them many tales to scare them straight and keep them in line. These stories especially imprinted on Harichimo and he took them all to heart whenever the elders told their stories of people being snatched up by wandering spirits and taken to the village of the spirits. But the struggle brewed in his head that people needed to be saved from that village and their livelihood means more then some superstitious tales. Harichimo had to take one more deep breath to bring himself down before he folded the note back up and slid it into his coat picket as he left the room. He thought Karumo and Oomi would both have their own letters and would maybe be tasked to their own assignments for the rescue mission. Harichimo would quickly lock up his door and keep a brisk pace out of the hotel and make a jog for the village gate.

It would be a short journey before Harichimo would find the outer boundaries of the village. The wilted dead tress seeming to get sparser and sparser the further he went. Almost as if a cloud of death and shadows took away the life from the land. The sky began to clog up with clouds of darkness as the sun was seemingly choked out of existence. He would soon reach the veil with presented itself as a mirror like barrier. He could hear some distant wails and screams from beyond the wall. Harichimo began to feel his heart racing, it was now or never, go and save the trapped villagers or run back and act like he never received he orders. But he thought to himself and figured he was more scared of an angry Akira sensei then a random spirit. With a running start Harichimo dove through the veil and pulled out the note to find where he was supposed to go.

The assigned location was a huge mansion where many civilians were thought to be locked up and imprisoned by the spirits. He saw a huge black mansion on the horizon which fit the description and he would walk onto the deck. Huge doors with brass handles stood before him and Harichimo would put his hand on it, feeling a cold chill run up his arm. This was the mission to overcome his fear and make sure people who were counting on a rescue would get out.

Harichimo gripped the handle harder as the feeling of cold overtook his arm. He forcefully threw the door open and let the dim light from outside wash in. The inside of the manor was as dark as anyone could imagine. Harichimo could see windows down a hall that let in some light but there was no definitive source to show any distinguishing features of the manor. Details given to him in his letter deatailed this mansion was owned by a rich family who had just completed the building a couple months before the spirits took over. No one knew what happened after the spirits took over and created the veil erasing the village from existence. The furniture seemed to have been lost to time forever and showed their age but seemed solid as could be. The air seemed as stagnant as the day the village was over run by spirits. The aura of the room just felt as if something was draining with very soul of the mansion itself into a void of nothingness. Harichimo knew crossing the threshold of the door would mean he would enter into a world that was even farther apart from the spirit realm he was already in. Who knew what was going to be awaiting him?

Harichimo stepped inside and the floor boards would creak immediately and announce his presence to everything in the near by rooms and darkness. Harichimo cringed as he didn't expect his presence to be let out and known this early. He could hear something let out a soft moan that seemed to roll through with a wave of chilling air. Harichimo grabbed a senbon from his jacket pocket and held it up in a defensive stance. He listened as the moaning came and went, not wanting to give away the location of its source. Tiny footsteps began to sound through the room he stood in adding to the suspense and anxiety he felt. Harichimo kept his head on a swivel to try and make sure whatever was coming for him wouldn't have the drop on him. The footsteps grew louder into almost monster thuds that shook the foundation itself. Harichimo grew a little worried as he began to turn on his own position and kept himself low as he circled around the room. Finally he saw a small cloud of haze come down from the ceiling, the one place he hadn't thought to look. The perfect spot for any ambush of the easily distracted or unaware targets. He had let whatever was onto him get its advantage and now had to get ready to fight back from a deficit.

His head would jerk up to see a slender figure walking on the ceiling and only having contact with the soles of its feet. The figure was as dark as the room it inhabited, it had the shape of human, but its face was nothing more than an angry looking mask. A mask that seemed to move as if it was the face of the actual shade. Once the creature knew that its prey was onto it, the shade released its grasp of the ceiling and came crashing down just as Harichimo was barely able to jump away when a shock wave pulsed out. The shock wave propelled Harichimo a couple more feet back and into the wall. The creature seemed to be a tad stronger than what Harichimo was expecting. The creature continued its assault and rushed towards Harichimo and would spring forward launching a straight punch. Harichimo was able duck and roll away as the shade's fist went straight through the wall and left a gaping hole. At least it seems like being in this spirit village makes me able to interact with the environment. Maybe I should be able to fight this thing back. With that thought Harichimo gripped his senbon tight again and locked eyes with what he assumed where the eyes of the mask face. The shade pulled its fist from the wall and made another charge for him. Harichimo would match the charge in speed and he would just pass by the punch and bring his senbon arm into the shade's body. The senbon plunged into the body but the shade didn't seem to mind as it let a punch fly and make contact with Harichimo's stomach knocking him back and into a kneeling position.

Harichimo tried to catch his breath back as he watched his senbon be absorbed into the shade and reappear in the hand of the creature. He quickly got back up onto both of his feet and brought his arms up into his stance. This bastard hits like a truck and is going to be a very tough challenge. My senbon isn't strong enough to even make him bleed. I am going to have to turn up the heat and not hold anything back. I hate to have to burn chakra this early into the mission but I have no choice. I can't even touch this thing with my senbons so i will have to rely on mu jutsus to make any sort of headway here. Harichimo would focus as the shade studied its newly acquired toy, like a child with no clue, and bring forth his aura, making his forearms glow the deep purple of his Rage technique. Harichimo wasn't going to be the one to be on defense the whole encounter and now was his time to show it. Harichimo made a dash for the creature and threw a straight right. The creature was fast enough to react and bring up a fist to catch Harichimo's but it wasn't ready for him to unleash the secret of his technique and unleash a burst of explosive chakra. A glow of purple

and the hand encasing Harichimo's was blasted away into nothing. The shade reeled away in pain as it saw it was being damaged by something not of its world. This is what Harichimo was looking for, as the shade was distracted Harichimo made the dash to tackle the shade and get into a mounted position to rain down an assault of rage strikes. He let explosive strikes fly all aiming for the masked face, but every time he would come down the shade was able to move its head and avoid being caved in by the bursts of chakra.  Eventually the shade got its good hand up and pushed Harichimo up and off of it with a violent throw for anything with only one good hand.

Harichimo was able to land onto his feet after the shade tossed him a couple feet into the air. He looked over to the shade and saw as it slowly rose up and released a shriek that filled the whole room. The masked face seemed to change color to a deep shade of blood read and the face changed entirely. The shade even held up its blown of hand as it seemed to regenerate it. Play time was over and now the real war was going to get underway. The shade made a dash and showed its superior speed and grabbed Harichimo by the waste driving him into the wall. Harichimo felt the full impact but he held on and wrapped his arm around the head of the shade, and with his free arm he would bring it around and land shots to the stomach of the beast. With every punch there would be a delay before Harichimo would let the chakra burst and light up the underside of the shade. Every strike made the shade cry out in terror as it tried to fight back, but without vision its attacks landed in vain against the wall leaving holes everywhere but where he was. He had to be careful as a few stray shots where landing almost on top of his head and had to duck down to avoid them. Harichimo didn't let his attack end until he felt the shade was barely able to stand and its attacks seemed to get slower and slower. To be safe he was going to let one more rage strike connect and let the shade fly back when the chakra burst with a brilliant shine of purple and shadow from the creature.

The shade ended up flying back onto the floor and its blood red face seemed to recede and turn back to normal. Its sounds turned back into soft moans as it seemed to be losing whatever life force it had. Harichimo rubbed at his abdomen as he got his breath back and walked over to the shade. The creature looked up at his with its mask face and tried to grab at his pants legs but its hands were easily kicked away. Harichimo walked around the creature, pacing and studying what just took place. This must have been some guard of the family that lived in this manor before the spirits took over and corrupted everything. It is a shame I couldn't save him but it might be to late for a lot of the civilians here. What a horrible fate to be met with. But we have to hold out some hope that there are survivors somewhere inside this mansion and I will find them. Harichimo stood over the shade again and and the shade seemed to accept it was defeated and sprawled its arms out. Harichimo gathered another shot of chakra into his right hand and came down with a game ending strike to the mask face of the shade. The shot connected with the mask and the chakra burst shattered the mask into dust. With the mask gone the rest of the shade seemed to disappear into nothingness and slink away. All that remained was his senbon that had been absorbed now sitting where the right hand of the creature had been. He would grab his fallen tool and out of habit wipe it on his bandages even thought nothing was on the senbon. He would then tuck it back into his designated pocket and have a new one at the ready in case he needed to pull it out quickly.

Harichimo stood back up and could feel the dark and cold presence of the room lifting away slowly and saw a few windows he hadn't noticed before become uncovered and dim gray light flooded into the main room of the mansion. Harichimo could now see the detail of the room he was in. A main greeting hall where a long hallway now stood before him with spiraling staircases on either side and a few doors on his level, a few leading to either side of the room and a central door on the wall ahead of him. He saw the tarnished gold light fixtures swing on the ceiling and the artwork which was probably expensive or meaningful in some way to the previous tenants. Whoever was here before had good taste but unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the fruits of their labor for to long.

Harichimo came back to his senses and tried to take in the reality of the situation. He had only gotten past the first hurdle and gotten inside the mansion. Only the first room out of how many others no one knew for sure. He had to keep his momentum going and try to quickly get to any survivors. He decided it was probably best to stay on the level he was on and took to the doors on the right side of the room. Three doors in total all stood before him leading to possible challenges or possible survivors. Each door looked as solid as the door he entered in with very little difference between them. He thought to just go in order and approached the door on the right. He decided leaving his rage technique active would be his best bet and fighting off whatever he would encounter on the other side and stopped to take a few breaths and clear his mind.
