Blackjack (21) Basic Rules. Blackjack-011

Blackjack or "21" is a card game centered around the concept of achieving the highest point value in a hand without exceeding the number 21. The payout is 3:2. The game is played as followed: At the beginning of a hand, all players will be dealt two revealed cards and the dealer will be dealt one revealed card and a hidden or "hole" card. Having knowledge of their own hand and half the dealer's they may choose from a range of options for how they will play their hand.

Hit me: The player is dealt another card from the deck, the value of which is added to their current hand.

Stay: The player sits on their current hand until the end of the round.

Double: The player doubles their initial bet on this round and receives ONE card.

Split: Should the player have a pair (or any two 10 point value cards) they may choose to "split" their bet. Each card is then given a second card and may be played out as their own hand. (Note: Splitting also involves doubling up on your initial bet) Splitting can be done up to a maximum of 4 hands. Split aces may only receive the one card and can not be hit again.

Rules of the game

1.) All number cards represent their face value. (i.e. A 9 is worth 9)

2.) All "face" cards (Jack, Queen, or King) hold a value of 10.

3.) An ace can be treated as either a value of 1 or 11, but not both, in any given hand.

4.) A hand's value is the sum of the value of all cards in it.

5.) A "blackjack" is a hand containing an ace and any other 10 point value card. Unless another blackjack is on the table, a blackjack is counted as the winning hand, even if there is another 21 point value hand on the table.

6.) After all players have completed their turns, the dealer will reveal their second card. The dealer must hit on any value 16 or below.

7.) Should the dealer bust, any player who has not yet busted shall win their hand.

8.) In the event that the dealer does not bust, the higher point total between the dealer and the player wins the hand.

9.) In the event of a tie between dealer and player, the game will be a "push" and the player receives back their bet.
