Ryuujin

Ryuujin

D-rank
Ryuujin woke up tired with his tummy rumbling. He always felt extra-tired after sleeping for days continuously doing nothing and that's what he had been doing these past few days-nothing. He had just realized how exhausting doing nothing was and he lamented the fact that he had let his skills, minute as they were, go rusty. It had only hit him how badly unfit he had let himself become after having to run back and forth from the living room to various places around the house doing things for his aunt earlier and he had been panting at the end of it. His aunt Daine had scoffed at him and had said,"You say you want to be one of the best ninjas but you laze around the house all day doing nothing. The path to success doesn't begin with only wishes and desires but also education and more specifically training. Better yet, why travel a path that others have traveled when you could create a trail so others may follow your lead. It's up to you what you want to do but take my word for it, the path you are on will lead you to do nothing, say nothing and be nothing."
With that she had then walked away leaving Ryuu with his mouth wide open as he stared at her with shock, awe and shame. That was most he had ever heard her say in just a couple of seconds. If it had been any one else to say that to him he would have just dismissed it but Aunt Daine was not only a woman of few words but she was a woman of her words. Ryuu secretly worshiped her though he was sure his parents knew of his adoration of her. For him, those words had reverberated around his head and had became gospel. He had fallen asleep with those same words on his mind. He was haunted by the word nothing but today he refused to be tormented by that word any longer.
He got of his bed and made his own breakfast for the first time in two weeks. He made himself some dumplings and he opened a tin of fish that he cooked to go with it. Thirty minutes later he was setting up his food on the table with a cup of mint tea and he poured out some milk in a bowl for Kai. Kai, woken up by the scent of fresh milk walked into the kitchen to stare in shock at Ryuu. He had made tea, something he hadn't drunk in over seven years when he had deemed himself too old to drink tea. She grinned, happy he had finally stopped being lazy. She herself had refused to speak to him while he was being stupid. With a nod of thanks to him she sipped at the milk. It was warm. Pleased, she drank some more absently nodding to Ryuu when he placed a plate of fish next to year. Ryuu smiled. It felt good to have Kai acknowledging him again. He returned to his breakfast, quickly eating before heading to the bathroom. Minutes later he was dressed and he had a backpack filled with his usual essentials with Kai and Mr. Whiskers at his side. They headed out making their way to the Dense Forest for Ryuu to begin his trail.
