Margaret Ducan

Was it Margaret, or was she simply hearing things? Awaking in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, and doing the most abnormal things. Her life had been a living hell, she wasn't on the right track throughout her shinobi life. Margaret Ducan was lost. She had no clue of where to begin her journey, and neither did she try to understand the whole process. This wasn't the time to think, but to take action. Instead of thinking, it was time to do the things that were on her mind. Be heard, speak out. Margaret was staring at a piece of iron that had laid across from her right side over. It had been rather long, never had she seen such a thing. And indeed, it was very sharp, so she had known to stay protected. Margaret after all, was a very responsible woman, and she didn't plan to get infected by some thirty or more year old rusty piece of iron.

Margaret slowly moved herself away from the irons harm, slowly noticing that it was going to fall. She wasn't scared, and neither did she hesitate. There was no time to think, but to react. And so she did, moving out of harms way in a flash. Obvious sense had come to her mind, and she was relieved. Why would she want to be struck by a piece of iron? Anyhow, she managed to quickly relax herself, and concentrate on what she was about to do. There were rumors, good and bad of what she was about to do. For example, a famous rumor of the Hokage Mountain is that once a shinobi has sacrificed themselves for the soul intent of protecting their village, they would be able to see the Hokages passed lives. Then again it is just a silly rumor. Another rumor had been that once a shinobi had visited the Hokage Mountain and committed a sin within their village, the Hokages would take said shinobis life without their consent. Very scary these rumors were, but Margaret didn't plan to sit around and wait to find out what would happen. She had wanted to know. And so Margaret Ducan set off on a journey, venturing to the Hokage Mountain where who knows what waited for her.

Hours, it had surely been hours since she had seen a source of water. Climbing up the mountains is a very hard job, not to mention in the blazing son. For a women, this is a very arduous task, because a man would think less of a women because of such a thing. So she continue to try her hardest, even when the times had been rough. Because when the times get rough, something good repays.

Now don't get the girl wrong, indeed she was up on the Hokage Mountain, but nothing had happened. No mystical ghost like activities, just the fading of the sun, turning into night. As the birds began to fly away, and the fire flies began to come up and light up the area. As the moon had shined so bright, causing a very soothing feeling within her very body. It was beautiful. There she waited for her destiny, and looked at the stars up above, wishing that something marvelous would come her way.

Rippa had been working late as a free doctor. Just using his abilities to heal those who needed it. Most of the time it was just a simple bandage or even a band-aid. Really no one was concerned with anything abrupt and dangerous happening in Konoha anymore. Not after the crazed Uchiha Hao had been destroyed by the previous Hokage. Very few bad things actually made their way into the public knowledge of the citizens. Civilians led to believe nothing could happen. Complacency. He hated to think it but that was the danger in it all. Complacency was a weakness that was what led people to believe they didn't need to push themselves as hard. And due to that they were weak. Perhaps to weak in the event something bad happened.

But that was why people like him and those he had met existed. With enough effort the civilians didn't have to experience terror or pain. They didn't need to look at his head band and wonder how much was man and how much was trained weapon. They just saw him as a doctor with a warm heart. He knew it couldn't last but still he indulged in the thought that peace was beautiful. And the land was only going to flourish further.

And that was why as night fell he made his way to the Hokage mountain. His dark pants and tank top blending in well enough. So did his black fingerless gloves and black boots. Still his Red coat with his head band stitched into the left shoulder shifted at his knee's as he climbed the steps. His Necklace rested against his chest. The silver angel wings on the necklace glinting in the moonlight. And his snow white hair shifted in the slight breeze. He came up these steps because he needed to see the village he swore to protect as a whole. Still as he arrived at the top he stopped. His blue eyes had noticed a blonde woman up there. For a moment he considered leaving but that would be fairly rude he figured. So instead he cleared his throat audibly.

Margaret Ducan wasn't dead, and she didn't pretend to be at times. But for some odd reason she had finally come to here senses when she had realized she wasn't alone. Someone was there, directly behind her. Margaret didn't bother to turn around and take a look, instead she focused her eyes towards the brilliant view. Whether it was an enemy or not, she could care less. She would rather die seeing this view, then have to fight on the sacred Hokage Mountain in shame. These were the kind of things Margaret had to think of at times, the tough decisions she had to make. But this certain decision, she already knew the answer too. She didn't hesitate in her movement, and the smell of this person sure did smell like a man. The odor itself was rather odd, for all she could smell was death..and blood. Rather concerned, Margaret slowly turned her head to the left side of her body. All she had managed to see was this persons white hair, then she slowly turned her head back to the view.

"Rather beautiful isn't it? This view that we have of Konohagakure. The moon that shines so brightly and give the little children hope as they dream, the lively sound of nature. Birds, racoons, bears, they all sit around and watch over the people. We are not the only ones fighting for the protection of our village, my friend. Since we are all connected, we are all effected." she said loud enough for this person to hear.

Of course, she was just speaking her mind. Whether this person choose to hear these words, or simply ignore her, was their decision. Making conversation with someone new can be a difficult thing. Margaret turned her body to face this man, staring deep into his blue eyes. What beauty.

Rippa stood there after he had cleared his throat. he saw her look over her shoulder just enough to spot him before looking away again. This had to be the second time a girl had otherwise ignored him. He never had that issue with the men. Some of them were down right aggressive. But the woman seemed to lack interest in interacting. But within only a couple of moments she spoke once more. And surprisingly her words reflected his own thoughts as if some how she knew his concerns. It was some what suspicious of a way to start a conversation. For a moment he stood where he was. Wondering who she was. And why she decided to say such things. A fellow shinobi sent out to sneak in a psychological profile on him? Or some one out to make a point? If not then she certainly spoke of strange things at strange moments. Still she was on the Hokage mountain of all places and he didn't sense any danger from him. Still he could almost swear he could smell something a kin to....a dog? Like one that dried off recently. Still it was faint and it had taken the entire time he had been standing there to get a whiff of it. He didn't have a super acute nose after all. Still it hardly bothered him. It was almost a welcome change from the smell of medical supplies. The smell of sickness. Still he let out a sigh and spoke as he forced himself to walk.

"I guess. But that's just how a community is supposed to work. Really though what keeps it all together is blissful ignorance. And as long as they remain ignorant we are doing our jobs well."

He finished that thought as he walked passed her and shoved his hands into his coat pockets. Turning on his right boot heel he spun and let his back hit a particularly large rock formation to which he let himself lean against. After all she was looking him in the eye now. Better then before at least. Still his blue eyes turned to look over the village. Konoha. One of the proudest lands around. A lot of history there. Still he spoke once more to her.

"People associate ignorance as a fault but ignorance is preferable to panic. The threat is real enough. Foreign and domestic. But that's why we are here. We keep what would endanger the civilians at bay so that they can live a peaceful life. Chi Rippa by the way. You can just call me Rippa if you like. And you are? You talk like you know me."
