Yuzu Ren

Yuzu Ren

Dead
The war was now over and there was something that he had seen in the war that made him excited. It was beautiful and he could not help but feel he needed that same beauty, sometime during the war he had seen someone pass him by he has no idea who it was but the sword that person possessed seemed to call out in a way only a true sword can call to a swordsman. His heart raced and if he had not been struck down hard with grief from the supposed loss of the Mizukage not even pointing out the disappearance of Kamikira. For a while now he had attempted to find some information now on the sword that amazed and excited him as he did not have to worry about the Mizukage who showed and proved to be more alive than ever.

After asking around and mentioning he had seen some beautiful and expertly made swords an old man finally spoke to him, you may find something at the old library near the bloody academy i used to go to long long ago. The old man coughed and on his back was a rusted blade which had a strange unique glow to it. He spoke to the man and asked him a few questions before he would learn whether the man spoke the truth. The man said that before their legend had been even more legendary than it was now and he was then told that if he wished to learn more he had to not only become a stronger and better swordsman. He would also have to understand the meaning of the swords which he had seen a glimpse of.

He reached the broken and torn apart academy and noticed they rebuilt the watch tower he had destroyed in the Seven Bells War. Was a bit annoying when he remembered how close the battle was and how he was not even allowed to keep the kite for himself which annoyed him a lot. He dug around and finally found the entrance which was a bit heavy as he pulled and realising this would not be easy he took his sword Tsukiyo and used it like a crowbar to wedge in and use extra leverage to finally open it. The entrance was not even locked it was just made heavy so no weakling could enter the secret library. As he journeyed beneath he looked around digging here and there finding a few books on a couple of things. He took the book on Senjutsu he found and packed it away since it seemed interesting as he only new a little about it. He then proceded to find a book on forging and reforging blades as well as a third book on sealing techniques and swords. As important as all this was he finally found a book to his liking, the Book of the Seven Swordsman of the Mist

The book was dusty, bloody, old and torn but still readable and usable which was all that mattered. He turned the first page and began reading.

"The Seven Shinobi Swordsman of the Hidden Mist are powerful Swordmasters who have reached the pinnacle of swordsmanship rivalled by few and envied by all. These seven shinobi swordsman had the power to wield impressive sword relics which were not only unique but powerful to the point that their use would sometimes be forbidden at times. The wielders of these blades represent the Hidden Mist, but their status varies from being ronin to being like samurai or they would merely be great shinobi who have mastered the sword arts. Their duty over the years has varied but the Mizukage may choose who wields the blades, though at times the blades were sometimes passed on through intense battles between the one who held the relic and the one who seeked to possess it as well.

The chosen blades of this time are each unique in their own way possessing powers far beyond your average weapon. The First Blade held by the captain of the Seven Swordsman and believed to be the strongest blade to some. Sessho Sekki which had the ability to pierce through any defence. It was not as powerful as legends made it out to be but very few could prove this to be wrong and live.

Mayonakanokodomotachi no ken was the second blade and had the ability to destroy nearly anything in its path with just two strikes. People were never sure how true this was as most people who had come against this sword appeared to have died in one strike with out putting up any fight at all. This blade still remains mysterious to some not forgetting its strange ability to alters its size as well, though users have rumored at not liking this swords nature saying it takes your breathe away.

Sourukattā was the third blade and to many seemed to be more beautiful than deadly. It had the ability to seem to cut through nearly any jutsu and many victims of the sword mentioned losing the ability to manipulate chakra rendering their shinobi soul lost without their ninjutsu. Hence it was known as the Soul Cutter as it cut away the soul of shinobi's ninjutsu arts.

The Forth blade or blades came as a pair known as Kūkan and Sōzō. People did not see any real strength in these blades other than them being strong like most other blades of their kind. They did possess the ability to copy the techniques imbued or used in the other which seemed simple and was taken lightly, however the true power of the blade was frightening as medical shinobi mentioned things of wounds that even the strongest medical shinobi had trouble healing.
While not the strongest of blades the fact that they are a pair is what makes them strong.

The fifth blade Eidleweiss was a blade that would ignite with flames and was considered a scourge to many but its unique secret art allowed one who could master wielding it with only one hand the ability to bring forth a fiery shield as the sword rewards its user for being able to master it to the point of not needing both hands to wield it. This sword may not seem as powerful as the rest but the intense flames and villages burnt down more then make up for this misconception.

The sixth blade Raidachi emphasized movement as one had to keep moving the blade to harness its power. Over and over as it shocked, electrocuted, burnt and basically destroyed whatever it faced in so many ways with so much speed as well as raw power this blade is a legend in its own right although the blade itself was considered blasphemy for being a dual bladed staff rather than an actual sword. However sword, knife, dagger or what ever you would prefer there was no denying this weapon rivalled the power of the seven swords and could not be denied.

The Seventh and final sword known as the Serpent's Tongue was a blade whose range could not be underestimated and its unique methods in which it could be used. This sword did not use brute force or insane powers but merely its unusual nature and uniqueness. There had been rumors of this blade shooting at people while others mentioned it as wrapping around them like a serpent capturing its prey. regardless of how little we know this is by far the most unique blade without any abilities."

Nearly falling asleep from all the reading he did he wondered why this book seemed a bit different from what they learnt until he remembered that sometimes learning one thing does not tell you everything. half of what was explained sounded like something from a story book, was hard to believe that a sword could pierce through anything or that it could summon some magical shield of fire. It all sounded unbelievable but that was when he finally made up his mind and said slightly out loud.

"I will become a legendary swordsman " he then had one thing that called to him in the images that he could get, the twin blades were calling to him, telling him to get them. Maybe it was all in his mind but he did not care he wanted them so he would train to get them. He drew out his two swords Tsubakiri and Tsunakiri and decided he would master the art of dual wielding his blades. As he held them in both hands he realised something that he learnt earlier, using a sword with one hand and using a sword with two hands were completely different. Two handed sword strikes were solid and well place but one handed sword strikes would need to be faster not to allow his opponent a chance to knock his balance off. He would need a technique to get past the defences of the most solid shinobi warriors as well as a technique to keep the flow of his switching blades.

He stood meditating for what could have been an hour, the abondoned library nearly silent as some rats ran back and forth here and there as well as some interesting sounds of snakes. He was not really scared of snakes as any snake who would come close enough to disrupt his meditation would be met swiftly by either of his two blades he held to his sides. His concentration was unmatched right now and he had attained a level of focus he had not shown since his fight with the traitor of his clan. He knew that she had to be dealt with and with Seven Bells gone she would be eager to get away with something. He then began to remember all the battles he had seen all the times he nearly lost and the times he won easily then he should have. It was then that he became calm and was at peace with himself and he then understood what Kenji had tried to teach him. The swords were not just extensions or tools or even a part of you, the weapons were an extension a tool and a part of you there were not either or but all. His new found concentration may have been because of the effects of the war, or it was just his inate talent that was now choosing to stand out.

The time had passed and he chose to stand up he was surrounded by what appeared to be bandits who had chosen to invade the now open library. They spoke but he did not listen as they faced their weapons to him. He was annoyed that they would bother his session as he tossed his sword killing the first man by the entrance. Instead of attacking him they were all filled with fear and ran for their lives none of them wishing to risk dying for a bunch of books which they knew nothing about. The man whose chest was pierced by the blade had no idea what happened only realising a while later that his heart was bleeding as he coughed and fell to his knees. The young Ren proceded to walk towards the man who finally recognised him and then died on his knees as Ren pulled his sword out of the now dead bandit the smell filling the air. He exited the library with the few books he collected and closed the entrance so other bandits would not enter. Noticing a pigeon nearby he gave it a note and sent it to the village to inform them of the library which they may have known about and chosen to ignore.

After all the effort he put in to training inside the library he had grown in his own way as he finally took a deep breath and then said. "Stop hiding and come out already i know you there", the person standing there moved away from behind the rubble she was hiding then spoke back. "Yuzuroku needs to see you", as he heard that he replied. "I will see her when I am done and tell her that she is back and we have to deal with her". As he said that the girl disappeared, he wondered why it seemed like everyone in his clan were shinobi now, what did he miss during the war and when last had he even visited his clan home. Things had become strange and his focus wavered for a while, but he was dead set on becoming one of the legendary swordsman and earning the right to wield the twin blades and make more then just a name for himself.
