"Black flame ripping through the forests of our country like an avalanche ablaze was the last thing our people remembered as free men and women. Although our small ninja village in the land of grass was all but hidden from the greater world, we were there. Obsidian, abyssal chaos made incarnate ran rampant, devouring all of those who were unfortunate enough to be in its path... those who were too slow to escape its fiery maw as it opened wide and crashed down on its now helpless victims lost to ashes.

The Village elders took to the fleet, leaving all of us behind, leaving us to the burning and the torture of the waves which crashed against us, we were abandoned that day by those we cared for, we were abandoned by our peers, abandoned by our families, abandoned by our friends and loved ones as they did not even so much as look back to see if we were following in their wake... out of feer... out of selfishness.

But we were not dust in this wasteland, some of us, some of us were skilled enough in the black arts to shield the flames, regenerating our bodies faster than the agony could overwhelm our physical forms. Though our mental frames buckled under the weight of the force. Some of us gave in, breaking to the pain and letting go of what was maintaining our lives. But, as hours past, and the maw showed no signs of stopping or even slowing down, we persisted. And so, like a light, we gave in to our thirst for life, and the world fell to ashe, and we survived, the world went black...

And for a moment, without chakra, we saw Nirvana...

But it was not our time, from what the few of us know and believe, the flames flickered out of existence moments after we gave into their blaze, to be rescued by an old rugged woman from the mountains wielding a platinum staff, and a blindfold covering broken, shattered, violet eyes with black circles cleaving through the colour, which, since that day we've never seen behind. She breathed life into us, bought us back from the depths of our hell

The members of the Shiki-Iga clan are a ghastly sight to behold, their souls once departed were called back to the bodies of their former selves, their spiritual chakra bound to their physical chakra through ties placed there by their savior, as their bodies were repaired as much as physically able. However, their appearance is still corpse-like to the eye, bearing skin like parchment or rawhide leather and slightly tipped teeth/ canines.

• Notably, members of the Shiki-Iga clan are known to apply for and use 'ghost-like' techniques which strike at a victims chakra causing extreme pain and reducing their opponents' chakra pool (Up to +5 chakra 'more' than the chakra cost of the technique used, or -5 under the maintenance cost per hit.). they do this through using only their own bodies' spiritual chakra for their offensive medical techniques, without splicing in body chakra for solidarity to create 'spirit chakra'. This creates ninjutsu, bukijutsu or other techniques which do not harm the body, or effect anything on a physical level, but instead harm the spiritual/ mental facets of an opponent. These techniques are commonly referred to as 'Seishin Release' Techniques; they are N/A in nature and are considered under the broad categorization of Yin release.
  
  
• Seishin Release attacks chakra by its very nature, but is an ethereal force. Thus, their abilities cannot interact with (block / be blocked by) items or armour which do not have an elemental affinity or chakra enhanced component. Seishin release abilities 'can' rip through and destroy jutsu / techniques whose activation costs are equal to or less than the amount of chakra the Seishin technique would rip out of an opponent. (Ie, if an opponent uses a B rank technique which costs 20 chakra, and your Seishin technique would make an opponent lose 20 chakra, the seishin technique would negate the B rank technique.)
  
  
• Due to the nature of their esistence, many of the organs of the Shiki Iga clan do not function as they are meant to. However the heart, due to its nature as a nerve cluster, as well as the spine, neck and brain are still vital locations... as such members of the Shiki Iga clan also have no discernible Bio-rhythm, meaning they have no natural pulse or natural body-heat. However, they do still bleed. (in a sense.) Be the effect dust, ash, insects or ichor, loosing mass is still not good for a Shiki Iga clan member, and as such, wounds require healing. Too much loss of mass, causes the shiki iga to loose strength and feint, effectively 'bleeding out' like any other ninja.
  
  
• Members of the Shiki Iga give a new meaning to the term 'silent as the grave' and are always considered to have Supernatural Walking Practise active, without the cost of chakra.
  
  
• Finally, the unholy bodies of the Shiki-Iga are less volatile and tougher than the average person. Thus they have +2 to their endurance stat. (The exception to this is burns from fire, and techniques which do not do the body physical harm, Ie offensive genjutsu or trapping jutsu, as they deal no physical damage.)

Drawbacks:

• All Shiki Iga members have the 'Pyrophobic' negative special characteristic, due to their history with the black flames. This cannot be balanced by an additional positive special characteristic.

• Katon based burns and Fuuinjutsu sealing techniques which trap the victim as they are have supernatural facets to their being, the weakness being created by fuuinjutsu's history in exorcism have +1 rank of effectiveness when used against members of the Shiki Iga clan. (This 'is' the -1 from spiritual beings. And is not a further -1.)
  
  
• The Bodies of the Shiki Iga clan are slightly restrictive and heavy due to their nature, thus members recieve -2 tiers to their speed stat, and cannot take agile as a positive special characteristic.
  
  
• Shiki Iga clan members begin with -25 chakra. Additionally, when members of the Shiki Iga clan reach 0 chakra, rather than being reverted into a comatose state, the chakra bonds which hold their souls to their bodies break down, releasing their spiritual body, killing them instantly.

How do you 'strike' at a victim's chakra? Or rather, how do these strikes affect them? I'd like definite lines to be placed on what 'hurting' a person's chakra can do to them, because it's a bit vague right now (only defined by the current clan jutsu).

-1 to all physical damage regardless of the source (nix Katon because of the drawback) is a big resistance.

Permanent Supernatural Walking Practice without ever having to pay for it is also huge.

+1 to all Buki basic strikes is an OK power.

However, these together really don't get totally balanced by the drawbacks.

-25 chakra/die when chakra is used up covers its share, probably 1 of the big perks listed above.

Pyrophobia is kind of specific, and I would prefer if it detailed whether a rank of ambient fire is necessary for the -1 or just any fire surrounding them.

I don't count the Fuuin weakness unless it's separate and stacking on top of the specialization's general advantage against you as a supernatural being. In addition, the not-being-able-to-stack-on-Katon thing is kind of putting a damper on it. If you think people will metagame this you can call them out on that occasion.

I'd prefer if you had at least two more meaningful drawbacks to this clan.

On your offensive techniques, I'm not keen on being able to drain variable amounts of chakra. I'd like a max amount of chakra you can drain per post, on each of them.

Also, in general....defying death as a default just kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

done. Things edited to balance things out. It should be fine now. And remember, they do die. Striking at someone's chakra is pretty simple. 'ghost' weapons using spiritual chakra rather than body chakra. Walking practice is pretty good, but it's not that crazy... Removed the buki buff, the defensive buff also isn't -1 to everything, it's only -1 to physical damage.

We discussed the chakra cuts, and leveled on these amounts.

Once again, is the Fuuin weakness separate/on top of the specialization's innate advantage against you? It's not explicated; if it is, nothing needs to be changed, but if not, it doesn't count as a drawback (and thus you need another one).

0 chakra....is exceedingly difficult to get to, and exceptionally easy to avoid. 'When other ninja would fall unconscious' is a better alternative.

Closing Hell's Gates is non-problematic: Self-paralysis for healing as defense.

I find Ghost Regalia fine; -5 per weapon strike, up to 4 available to you per use of the jutsu. There's nothing wrong with that at all, you could even make it 5 weapons and get away with it.

Haunted Sword is my only jutsu issue because it allows you to deduct a potentially infinite amount of chakra from the opponent. It is only the lack of a cap of chakra you can drain per post that irks me. Having this, however, is entirely possible; but it would come with a large maintainable cost to you as well, most likely. (Incidentally, the one-time-per-jutsu temporary weapon intangibility is fine.)

Just remember that hitting people with melee attacks is not something which happens too often, and it does not sap too much. And hitting 0 chakra is not too hard when you have -25 to your chakra pool and burn up on maintainable jutsu >.> ....

also, how is -1 to fuuinjutsu not applicable just because it is a part of another rule? They receive a -1 other ninja don't because they're supernatural... its a perfectly applicable disadvantage i would think. I'm not going to argue it too far, but it seems a lil silly. I could just say that they're not supernatural and have the -1 to fuuin, does it apply then? Cos being supernatural gives you no inherent bonuses...

So, Shiki-Iga are able to use techniques solely of spiritual energy, yes? Due to it not being completely bound to their physical energy.

Chakra drain need not be specified here; the precedent is set by the clan jutsu and can be dealt with on a technique-by-technique basis.

Always having Supernatural Walking Practice on, alright.

Being dead gives you essential immunity to two types of sensory, but does it do anything else?

+2 to Endurance takes the parenthetical into account, as the human body is not resistant to this through training alone.

Pyrophobic should be induced by C-rank. Goukakyuu is a ding-darn lot of fire.

+1 damage from Katon is good.

+1 from Fuuinjutsu that trap the target; these, on the large, don't actually damage the victim. (The only one I can recall is banned.) Could you explicate?

-2 to speed is good; it roughly balances the +2 to Endurance.

-25 chakra is also good. It balances just about everything else of weight.

The dead-when-0-chakra is a bit glancing, but sweeps up minor things.

Closing Hells' Gates: Given that you are unable to take any other action during this jutsu, and with a 50 activation/25 maintenance, nigh immortality limited only by your chakra reserves is quite acceptable. Though, when are you allowed to deactivate this technique? Anytime, or during a post you have not been injured?

Ghost Regalia: So you make weapons, toss them, et cetera. 5 chakra if they hit. With 20m rang and 20m/s speed (both below average), you can get an extra one in here, I think. Somehow, I think that one won't get hit with all of these without some setting-up anyhow. All good.

Haunted Swordplay: The overcharge should have some sort of cost if you're doing double drain for only ending the technique.
However, you first have to really, really describe how you're turning physical matter intangible to anything but chakra enhancement/constructs. (This applies to all ranks.)
